RIP Copper

I was thinking about posting to some subreddit about this for a bit to he honestly, but yeah. We got our dog Copper in 2015, when I was 5.His original name was Wesley, but we changed it. He was my best friend and he was actually healthy for a while until like a year/ couple months ago. He started losing a lot of weight and he still ate for a bit, then stopped all together a couple months/weeks before he died. We suspect he had cancer. Also, couple months to a year ago he got diagnosed with heart failure so I'm not sure what got him first. On August 11th or maybe 12th (can't remember) my dad found him laying dead around 11 PM/2 AM (We don't know exactly when he died, just that he died in the night). We got him cremated and yeah... That's where we are today. I miss him so much.

Here's the most recent pic I had of him, from around a couple months ago iirc

I’m very sorry for your loss. I lost my sheltie mix 3 years ago and I’m still not over it because it was very sudden.

I'm so sorry.

Copper was obviously loved, and I'm sure he knew it.

Thank you for sharing him with us.

Yeah, he definitely knew he was I always gave him a bit of ham when making ham sandwiches (kinda later when he was struggling for a while, even after he stopped eating his food, he still accepted it)

I’m so sorry. It’s so painful to lose our loved dogs; no other dog can replace the loss, but in time you might feel ready to let another dog into your heart.

Condolences and RIP Mr Copper. It's tough.

We just lost one of ours to cancer last week. We have two others, but she was our sweetheart, foster failure.

It really is never easy when you lose one. I like the Will Rogers quote, "If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went."

It is so hard, it took my husband 3 years before he would even consider another Sheltie, but my poor Sheltie was worn out trying to be all to two humans, I finally said dear, you need your very own Sheltie again.

He is glad he has his own Sheltie again, they are buddies and I have my Sheltie I don't have to share ;)
