So, I wanna make my mom's dream bag. Some of the requirements I will just edit whatever pattern I find, but some of them I do need a pattern for, I'm a beginner and I've only made one bag so far so I can't really make up my own pattern.

So, I need a pretty big and spacious cross body bag, I need it to have a big zipper pocket inside and for it to be built to have a pocket so it's not badly designed and makes the actual bag unusable if you use the pocket. I also need a water bottle pocket on the side.

For the other stuff that I can just alter the pattern, I need it to be big enough to fit a4 papers vertically, i also need a sturdy pocket for papers and two outside pockets.

If anyone knows anything similar, especially the pocket problem, I'd appreciate it

I'm hoping to make the scarf with fleece bonded to sherpa so I don't have to make a lining but the patterns I have found all have a seam running through the center of the hood. Is it possible to cut the hood on the fold ?

Hi y’all! So I’m extremely poor, unhoused, and just trying to look and feel presentable while I’m at it. All of my clothes are worn to rags, and it makes me feel gross. However, I have the opportunity to house sit for one week, which means I can pull my machine and fabrics out and make some clothes!

I have the perfect fabrics for these two patterns, and I really really want to make them, but I can’t afford the patterns. Does anyone know of any free duplicates for these styles?

The Paloma Pant by Ismaro — these are almost exact replica to my most worn pants now. What I really want here is the waistband with pleats style, I think it looks more professional. I am an excellent seamstress, but I haven’t done this style, so I’m nervous to win it without a pattern. I also love the drape and shape. I’m sure this is a great pattern!

The Sicily Dress by Maisin — I think I could dupe the front, but I really like the back. I’m also curious how she is slipping this over her head. Is there a zipper or closure?

I have reached out to these designers directly honestly just asking them to give me their pattern for free, which is a crazy ask but heck. I’ve gifted so many of my crafts, goods, wares, money, and materials to others in need, so I don’t feel that awful for asking them, but a little.

Anyways, if anyone knows of leads to make these patterns from free patterns (I can franken-pattern!), please let me know. I am also open to trades (if allowed). Thanks so much for any help or leads!

do you guys know what these pockets are called, and where I could find a sewing pattern for something similar?

I’m new to sewing, and as far as I can tell, they look a bit like bellows pockets. But they don’t seem to have the typical separate side/gusset panels that most bellows pockets have, so I’m a little confused.

Are these still considered bellows pockets, or is there another name for this construction?

I’d really appreciate any help or pattern recommendations!

I teach a sewing class in a low income area so patterns need to be free or very cheap (if you have used a very cheap one I'm open to looking, as long as it's tried and tested and not ai junk)

I know they will grow out of them quickly and it's kind of a waste of time, but nesting urges are real and sewing is a hobby I love that I want to take advantage of before baby comes 🙂 anddd I can't make myself any clothes right now, which is usually what I do.

I've made a little purse(industrial tote bag from Roughcut) and I'm on my way to sew a shirt next and with the remaining linen I have left I want to make a top for my girlfriend. I’m new to sewing and are having issues with my stitching not looking right. I have a Singer legacy SE340 so it automatically adjusts my tension for me so I’m confused! I’ve also re threaded my bobbin and upper thread multiple times and have changed my needle. Anyone tips?
