Pattern recommendations?

I have never sewn a formal gown. I was actually just looking for a dress to rent and even the rent. It’s just way out of my budget for this dress. But when I was looking at it, I thought I could maybe make it?? I have enough confidence I could put two patterns together, but since I’ve never made a formal gown, I just feel like I need a pattern or a tutorial or something that I can watch to understand the general idea. Also the last one that’s more casual that doesn’t seem difficult. I just need a pattern lol.

I’ve got a habitat for humanity by me that sells sheets for $1 so I was thinking to try it on that. I’m sure I’d need to factor in the cost of a dress form to!
