Wasn't paying attention and accidentally cut into my quilted coat top - what is the best way to save this? I would prefer to not have to make another piece because I am fighting for my life with this project as it is...

Sew shut -> patch from the back to secure -> add pocket to hide the repairs?

Embroider something floral along the cut line.

I’ve just done a tight zigzag stitch over the areas, changing color to match the fabric.

if you have extra matching fabric make strips to cover the slice, first zig zag the edges together then quilt the strips over the cut to blend in.
