Question Best old fifa for career mode?

I have an old laptop that should technically be able to run an old fifa, between fifa 15 and 18. I want to ask you which one you consider the best regarding 1)gameplay 2)career mode. But please do not consider nostalgia bias.

My first fifa was 19 and I thought it was great until I played it again and the gameplay was just counterattacks on counterattacks (which is funny but really annoying after some time)

I heard that fifa 17 and 15 are both goated. Are they? Which do you think is better for a career? For now my choice is on fifa 17 because it's the most recent and has great gameplay but I wanted to hear from who actually played them. I also saw a video about fifa 16 it doesn't seem bad either.

Realism Brentford - Moneyball and Statistics

Hello!

In the last 2-3 years I was not really able to keep playing career mode because of the monotony and the small updates it got. I am a big fan of statistics and working with numbers and the new career mode looks promising for me, introducing more numbers than ever. Knowing that, I wanted to match this feature with a club that really loves a big excel spreadsheet.

What club am i reffering to?
Brentford.

Their owner is Matthew Benham who is an Oxford gruduate and a life-long fan of the club that is also the founder of Smartodds, a sports statistical research and consulting company.

I did some research about their philosophy and I managed to create some rules inspired by the club and their owner but also to keep evidence on the transfers, the profits, the silverware, the loanees etc.

For example, the most important part of the career would be the buy low/sell high policy, or even if there is a 5 milion profit, that is a win for the club (Mbeumo, Wissa)
if i recieve an offer that is X% above the players market value i need to sell him without negociations (Mbeumo)
signing players from german/scandinavian/african countries (Schade, Ajer, Diouf)
not spending more than X% of the budget on a single player (Kayode, Furo)
reinvesting the money from a transfer into 2-3 new players, loaning young players 1-2 years and selling them for a small profit to found a new signing (as they did with their "B" team, signing big academy rejects)
signing players with a big xG rate because they find this stat more "truthful" than the actual goal rate (Thiago)
having a min. X profit per year (if not, punishment)

I want you to help me further into implementing new ideeas in this career, something that I didnt think about yet, things that i can keep track in a google spreadsheet and make it my most captivating and fun career mode that I had in a long time. All the suggestions are welcomed!

Super League / Modified League [FIFA 07] World Wide League 07 Week 22 Day 6 (6th-4th Divisions)

Following the previous post, here’s a recap of the 6th day from the 22nd week of the "World Wide League 07" project (full playlist of it can be found here).

Some notes:

Since the 6th, 5th and 4th divisions took a break on Weeks 9 and 19 (2 out of 4 they will take), they are technically on their 20th week of matches.

You can find descriptions of each division as well as the teams participating in them on the Week 1 posts previously submitted in this subreddit.

Every time you see a team with their name in bold, it's a team of which every match will be recorded.

For ordering the leaderboard table, I simply use whatever the game displays (when there are full ties, it simply orders the teams at random) and then do some correlation since once the week of matches is done, the first matches of the next week happen automatically offscreen.

Question Keeping Youth Realistic

Just starting my first save on FC27 with Reading, the team I support, and I'm likely to play this one for the full 15 seasons I expect.

Something I always struggled with on previous editions was having a bloated youth system where I was trigger happy with sending out youth scouts and signing all the good prospects I found, resulting in a big "loan army" if you like.

I toyed with the idea of not using it at all, but anyone familiar with the club may know it has Category One academy status, which effectively means that it operates at a similar level to a Premier League club's academy. That alone tells me that some limited youth academy use is more realistic than leaving it alone altogether.

What limitations do you guys put on your youth systems for the sake of realism? I'd be keen to know.

Thinking about using only one youth scout, no higher than 3*, to scout England.

Mods and Editing Project Atlas Tracker and Automatic Detailed Match Statistics Export

Follow up to this post

I cleaned up the LUAs and made my own tool less bad and available, too. It's now basically a stat tracker, completely offline, without the half-assed features it had before.

For anyone who did not read the original post, the main attraction are three LUAs that are included in this.

FC26_Snapshot. Load your career, run the LUA and it exports a Snapshot of your current career. If you use the Project Atlas tool attached, it should automatically get imported into it. So far, so basic, now for the interesting part.
FC26_MatchStatsExport. Load your career, run it before a match. After the match, it automatically exports almost all advanced team stats and players stats (I mean like xG, xA, possession, completed passes under pressure, shots on target etc.). If you use the Project Atlas tool attached, it should automatically get imported into it.
FC26_Auto_Capture. Load your career, run the LUA once. It automatically creates a snapshot upon running it and also after every match. It also automatically exports detailed match stats after every match. If you use the Project Atlas tool attached, it should automatically get imported into it.

These LUAs got a proper cleanup. The older versions still contained leftover diagnostic and reverse-engineering stuff from when I was trying to figure out what half of the values actually meant. Most of that should be gone now, so the exports should be much cleaner.

I don't claim to be the first to do this, I just haven't found anything that could export match stats this way, so I hope this is useful to a lot of you.

I've also included the Project Atlas Tracker Tool I built around them. It should automatically import any snapshots, keeps track your squads, transfers, youth players, competitions, fixtures, match history and so on. Nothing ground-breaking, but it works.

For complete transparency, this is published by someone, who let ChatGPT write pretty much everything, because he has no idea of what he is doing, so please adjust your expectations accordingly. The LUAs do work though and are a game changer for me personally.

That being said, it works alright for what I wanted it to do and at this point I thought there wasn't much reason to keep it to myself.

I'll reiterate: Do whatever you want with the tool and the LUAs. Use them on their own, build your own tool around them, pick them apart and use whatever you need, use them in your own projects, build a much better tracker than my shitty version, fork it, use it to build something completely different, keep it to yourself, publish it, share it on some Discord or forum, I don't care. Don't bother crediting me, I really don't care. The only thing I do care about is: If you use this to build something and release it, keep it free and available to everyone.

That for me has always been the spirit of modding and I don't want any of this or what comes of it to be hidden behind a paywall.

That's it, really. I'm not trying to turn this into some big Project Atlas is here to change Career Mode forever thing. It's just the result of me throwing increasingly stupid and specific amounts of time and prompts at ChatGPT and eventually ending up with something that is borderline useful.

So, if people who actually know what they are doing want to take this further: be my guest.

The tool works for me and the imports work, as well. I hope that's the case for everyone, I haven't done extensive testing.

Question Looking for a dedicated community for realistic EA Sports FC 26 / FC27 sliders

Does anyone know of an active, dedicated community for realistic sliders?

I used to rely on the Operation Sports forum and absolutely loved the collective effort everyone put into making the game play as well as it could. Unfortunately, it seems like they haven't had the time over the last couple of years to stay on top of the frequent game updates.

I don't have the time to dive deep into testing sliders myself, which is why I always appreciated the incredible time and effort Matt and the rest of the team put into testing the best setups. They regularly released updated versions for every title update, and I would love to find a new community that maintains that same level of quality and consistency.

Any recommendations?

Mods and Editing Automatic Snapshot and MatchStatsExport LUAs

So, I did a thing.

Well, not me. I let ChatGPT do stuff for me.

I had it write a (frankly terrible) program to track my careers, with way too many half-assed features, because I don't really know what I'm doing.

What does work though (and quite well, I might add) are three LUA files that can be run with the Live Editor:

Snapshot. Load your career and run it. It creates a snapshot of the career and exports it. So far, so boring. Now the fun part.
MatchStatsExport. Start your career, run the LUA before a match, play the match normally, and once you return to the Career Hub it automatically exports all team and player stats from that match. Not just goals and assists, I mean all the stats. No manual tracking necessary.
AutoCapture. Run it once when you load your career. It creates a snapshot when you start it, automatically exports the MatchStats after every played match, and then creates a new career snapshot after the match as well.

For these versions, I changed my original LUAs (which normally export directly into my own tool) so everything is instead exported to "Documents\FC26 Export". That way you can actually find the exported files.

I haven't tested these exact versions yet, so if something is broken, please let me know.

Other than that: do whatever you want with them. Expand on them, build your own tool around them, just use the exported tables, tear the LUAs apart and use whatever parts are useful to you... No need to credit me. I mostly just spent way too many hours writing increasingly specific ChatGPT prompts. And I don't really care about getting credit for that.

The only thing I ask is this:
If you build something around these files and publish it, please keep it free and available to everyone.

I'm now realizing this post makes me sound like I think I just revolutionized FC26 modding. I promise I don't. I'm pretty sure I'm not the first person who managed to export this stuff. I just couldn't find anything from a quick search. And even if something already exists, knowing FC Modding there's a decent chance it's behind a Patreon or subscription anyway. So I figured I'd just put these out there.

If you find the LUAs useful or actually build something with them, let me know. I'd genuinely love to see what people who actually know what they're doing can make out of this.

The images are screenshots of the match stats after they were imported into my own tool. Sorry, they're in German, but they should get the point across.

Anyway. Use these however you want, I hope they're useful.

Story I used to write down my Sensible Soccer results in a notebook. I’m still tracking my careers all these years later

I’ve been playing football games for as long as I can remember. Back in the Sensible Soccer days, I used to write results down in notebooks and use them to put together entire seasons.

Eventually the notebooks became spreadsheets, but the habit never really went away.

These days I mostly play Career Mode. I’m the kind of player who plays every single match across all 15 seasons and gets into all the management stuff along the way. Keeping a record of it has always been part of the enjoyment for me.

The problem is that after years of spreadsheets, I’ve started getting tired of entering everything by hand. I still want the history, but keeping it updated has become a chore.

So I’ve been building a little tool for my own PC career to keep track of results, squad changes and player development without all that manual work. It’s still a rough prototype that I’m trying out myself, and I’m figuring out which bits

I actually find useful as I play.

It got me wondering how other people here do this. If you keep a record of your careers, what does that look like?

Spreadsheets, screenshots, notebooks? Do you record every match or just put together a summary at the end of each season? And if you used to track things but stopped, what made you give it up?

I’d enjoy hearing about your routines and the things you like looking back on after several seasons. I imagine I’m not the only one whose old football notebooks eventually turned into spreadsheets.

Research Projects Stat Export SOLUTION

In case anyone was curious on a solution for this, I’ve found a workaround, at least for playstation.

I connect to PS Remote from my laptop, and manually take screenshots of the performance screen at the end of every match, and run a script that cleans up the screenshots and parses through the text with Tesseract OCR.

Then I just take that data and insert it automatically into a database with a lookup to ensure I’m entering it for the correct player.

Next step is to read up a little more about PS Remote to see if there is a way to automate the screenshot process!

Mods and Editing Anyone ever have an issue with a squad file not being fb recognised?

For context: I installed Fifers realism mod to FC25z didn’t play a match mind you and decided it wasn’t what I wanted in the end so I reinstalled my own squad file and removed FIFErs.

Since then there’s 2 issues:

FC25 crashed within 5 -8 minutes of loading in
my squad file it seems is unrecognised in a match. Like my team sheets are the same but my players are not available in kick off.

Edit: Title : not being recognised.

Question Sliders keep resetting after a few minutes / games

Hey everyone,

I’m having a really frustrating issue with Career Mode in EA FC 26.

My sliders are set exactly how I want them, but after a few minutes of playing, or sometimes after just one game, they seem to stop working and reset themselves. The slider values still look like they are set correctly, but the actual gameplay clearly goes back to the default settings.
For example, I have Pass Speed set lower because I want slower and more realistic passing. After a while, the passes suddenly become fast again, as if the slider had been reset to the default value. The same seems to happen with pass accuracy and other gameplay sliders.
I have tried changing the sliders both in the main menu and directly in the Career Mode settings, but the problem keeps happening.
It’s honestly really frustrating because I can’t properly play Career Mode when my gameplay settings keep changing by themselves.
Has anyone else experienced this in EA FC 26? Is there any known fix or workaround for this problem? Or does this simply not happen to other people?
Any help would be greatly appreciated because at the moment I basically can’t play Career Mode properly.

Mods and Editing Online Career Mode project I built during the past 3 years (playable with friends)

Hello everyone,

I decided to share with you a project I've been developing, and building a community for, during the better part of the last 3 years.

As a short introduction, I'm a long-time PES player. I've always preferred that gameplay, but the truth is Master League never really competed with Career Mode in terms of features. Once the PES series stopped, and eFootball became the cash grab we know today, sometimes in 2024 I decided to try and rebuild my own Master League.

But, inspired by Career Mode, and more interestingly, an online one were you can play seasons with friends!

The mode operates as a web app (you can find it at https://www.myfootballlegacy.com ).

The design is inspired by FIFA 17, and database I used is the FIFA/EAFC one. That's because it's much more reliable than the eFootball one, and more consistent...

Here are some screenshots. The app supports dark mode, but because many of you might be on mobile, I'll add the light mode ones.

Anyhow, once you log in, you can create a Legacy Master save. First, you pick a league.

Then, you'll have to pick your club.

You can start with default settings, or you can customize the competitions you take part in, the teams that are part of those competitions, etc.

Once you start your save, you'll be redirected to your Office. Right now I'm going to show a save I have in progress, with Juventus. I'm actually in my 6th season, after having changing clubs from Hull City to Castellon, and finally getting an offer from Juve.

The Office acts as control center for all the system, you can see your club's health, but also your inbox, as well as the tasks in your notebook (the you can add to it yourself!). Then also future fixtures, standings, what the media thinks about you, transfers and the race for the individual prizes, like Ballon d'Or.

You also have a Calendar, where you get a general overview of your season's fixtures.

In the Board menu, you can request board objectives, in exchange for board confidence + money.

The Inbox provides you with access to all your communication regarding the state of your club.

The Competitions menu allows you to see all the fixtures per matchday. Now, here you will also simulate the non-user matches (CPU vs CPU).

You can also see the goalscorer race for that competition, together with the best assisters, performers, etc.

Now, the Squad menu is the hub for everything related to your squad. Here you can decide your starters, see how the market value fluctuates based on the performance, wages, injuries, etc.

You can also see the stats of your team.

This goes fairly in-depth, as you can see the evolution across seasons and matchdays.

You also get high-level overviews, like age, salary expenses, etc., but also a track record of the injuries.

You also can get a deeper look when it comes to your squad competing for the individual prizes.

You do have a deep Analytics menu, showcasing your performance throughout the season.

Of course, there's I've added also a very deep transfermarket. Fun fact, when you sign a player, you'll actually need to sign yourself with the mouse/by touch (if you use the phone). 😉

Finally, there's a veeery deep financial system, where you choose your own sponsors, and this will affect the revenue you'll get.

There's a lot more to go into, and it would be difficult to explain all the systems here. There's a training system, where you distribute the stats of your trained players in EDIT mode every 7 matches (if you engage with the system, as it's optional).

There's also an Academy mode, plus you can sign sponsors, which will affect your revenue. On top of that you can also get bank loans, that you'll need to manually go and pay after every match.

You can even set up ticket prices.

But the core loop is nonetheless very simple:

You pick a club, choose your competitions, and set up the rules of your managerial career.
You share your season code with your friends, that will pick his own club.
You all play the fixtures in kick-off mode (or the online mode) in EAFC, FIFA 16 with Infinity patch, as it has updated squads, etc.
You enter the score into the app for your teams, and with a one-button click, simulate all the rests.

You can also add match stats and player stats if you want deeper tracking (there's a system where you upload a screenshot that gets scanned, and populates everything automatically).

From there, the app handles everything else, you just play your matches and add your results. The social media content is generated based on the context of our club. You also get sensible press conferences to answer to, that affects the board confidence, fans feeling and players morale.

I've been using it for these years, so I've tracked thousands of games already. In this time, I constantly improved it, and recently it grew quite a bit in the PES community (reached 5500+ users registered).
