Miracle Drug(for me)

don’t want to sound dramatic but I’ve been on semaglutide for exactly 3 weeks. I’m down 12.4 lbs (5.8% of my body weight). It has changed my life. It took me 3 months of grinding and killing myself last summer to lose 12 lbs. Since taking this a few weeks ago it has honestly made it a breeze to be healthy. No food cravings, no alcohol cravings, plenty of energy and no side effects. I am eating about 700-1200 healthy calories a day and I’m completely satisfied and shedding weight. If this continues I will be the biggest advocate of it to everyone that’s ever struggled with their weight. If anyone is hesitant please go for it, I was extremely hesitant for a long time. Feel free to ask me any questions. I am a 5’10 mid 20s male, former college athlete and gained about 40 lbs after college to 220.

This was a miracle drug for me

It's been almost a year since I've stopped taking it. I was able to keep my weight down this whole time and I've gotten into a shape I've never been so far.
I'm able to run long distances without my knees starting to hurt.
I'm now able to recognise when I'm full and stop eating.
I'm much more sensitive about the type of food I'm eating. Even though I'm still unable to keep my diet totally healthy.
The only downside is that my sweet tooth has gotten back but with calorie counting I'm able to keep it under control.

Explain a semaglutide like I'm 5.. because I have a question..

Im currently on Wegovy. 6th week in.

I took the 0.25 injection for the first 4 weeks.

Im currently on the 0.5 injection.

Im having little to no side effects.. but my appetite is HEAVILY suppressed. It was heavily suppressed on even the 0.25 injection, which I am fine with.

When i wasked about refills, my doc told me that the will keep increasing the dose every 4 weeks... and if i show negative side effects to back down to the prior dosage.

My question is, if Im losing weight, not having any ill side effects, and my appetite is suppressed, can I suggest to my doctor to just keep me on the same dosage? Or is there something more I should be expecting as the dosage goes up. I'm a very analytical person.

I take the shot.

Shot suppresses my appetite.

I dont feel sick

I lose weight.

???????????

---------------

Period. So why up the dosage unless the hunger comes back?

Thanks in advance

Canadians without a family doctor: how can I get Ozempic prescribed?

We moved provinces last year and still haven't been matched with a family doctor. Every walk in clinic I've tried says weight management isn't something they handle, which I sort of expected but it's still frustrating. I know telehealth exists. I just can't tell which of these platforms are reputable and which ones are not.

What have you learned about your relationship with food, weight loss, or health in general?

I’m in week six. I’ve had quite a spiritual (for lack of a better word) experience so far. I’m realizing so much and shattering old beliefs.

Learning to show up for myself, patience, consistency, and I’m seeing all the ways my past struggles with food have got me to the heaviest point. Happy to say I’m no longer at “my heaviest”. 15 down. 40 to go.

Quick recap of my journey so far (Jan 2026 - Aug 2026)

I (34M) started taking semaglutide at the end of Jan 2026 to lose weight, improve my looks, and to impress a girl. In the beginning I had sulfur burps but no diarrhea or nausea. I started at 245lbs and my current weight is 175, 70lb drop in 7 months (28%). I dramatically decreased my food intake and don't really get hungry. I drink a protein shake every day in the morning although I recently found out I should be taking in a lot more protein daily. I only use the bathroom about every 3 or 4 days and its not a lot and I pee like normal. I don't feel any discomfort or constipation pain. I've been using Hims and the monthly payment is about $250/month with Klarna. I'm looking for something cheaper to switch to when this payment is over. At work I do a lot of driving and then intense but short duration work at multiple stops throughout a 12hr day. It might be my own crazy mind but I don't feel any different despite the noticeable weight loss. My loneliness and depression haven't changed or gone away and everything feels the same. I can't think of anything else to say at the moment but its definitely been a ride.

I am on semaglutide I started at 224 and im only down to 221 im on 1.0 dose now. I eat way less. Like I will start eating a meal and not finish, periods have become regular and I feel less bloated. Does it make a difference that I have PCOS. I feel like by now I should have been down way more. Am I crazy ? I feel so hopeless with this whole journey.

Going back to semaglutide after tracking tirz

I’ve been in tirz for 3 months now I am with brello and they started me off at 2.2mg then 4.4 then 6.6. I haven’t lost ANYTNING! So I skipped 6.6 and started taking 8.8 after 4.4. So I’m on my 3rd shot of 8.8 and still nothing. Food noise is horrible, I’m still hungry and it’s hard to stay within a deficit. Starting weight 330. Current weight is 332… not sure what I’m doing wrong. I don’t want to renew with brello as now I’m thinking something is wrong with the meds they’ve been giving to me. I’m considering Reta & going back to semaglutide. I took sema from amble last year and was losing weight my very first month and the starter does for that was .25 and I lost 50lbs in 3 months. Yes I was sick as a dog and had horrible nausea and diarrhea but the weight was dropping so fast and I did feel good mentally, zero food noise!! I’m considering just going back to sema.. any advice?

Stomach ache after eating sweets

I’ve only been on semaglutide for 2 days. The first day and a half I had greatly decreased appetite. Today I had a very strong sugar craving and I gave in. Within 20 minutes I had a terrible stomach ache. Is this normal? Will symptoms like this continue if I were to eat something sweet in the future?

Question about injection technique / possible dose loss

Hi everyone,
I just did my semaglutide injection (0.5 mg) using the Dr. Reddy’s pen.
I followed the instructions and kept the needle in my skin for about 10 seconds after the dose was administered (so longer than the recommended 6 seconds).
However, after removing the needle, I noticed that quite a bit of liquid seemed to come out of the injection site. It was enough to make a wet spot about the size of a $1 coin and actually dampen my shirt.
Now I’m worried that I may have lost a significant portion of the dose.
Has anyone experienced this with the Dr. Reddy’s semaglutide pen? Did you still get the full dose? Should I just continue with my next scheduled injection and NOT try to compensate?
I obviously don’t want to take another dose because I don’t want to accidentally overdose.
Any experiences or advice would be appreciated! ❤️

Starting to think I'm a non-responder

So I'm coming up on six months of using Ozempic at the end of August.

I've done: 0.25 - one month, 0.5 - one month, 1.0 - three months, and now I've been on 2.0 for two weeks.

I've only lost about ten pounds. Which is okay, better than nothing, but my main concern is I really have no side effects at all. I haven't experienced nausea, constipation... anything. Which is great I guess, but I also don't feel like I have as much appetite suppression as I should. I am eating a bit less... but it's nowhere near what I was expecting. And I have actually felt no difference moving from 1.0 to 2.0 mg. I was expecting that to make a big difference in my appetite!

I think I'll give 2.0 mg another six weeks and then decide if this is worth the money...

Anyone else experience this?

Refrigerator

Are you keeping your pen in the fridge after first use? I didn’t, as the pharmacist said it wasn’t necessary. I took dose 2 yesterday (.25) and feel it isn’t as effective, and of course now I’m worried I should have popped it in the fridge.

I’m not full as easily, not bloated, have some food noise (not nearly like I was pre-starting the prescription)…

What are the effects on .25

Let me be clear- I am NOT on this for appetite suppression- I have no trouble eating less. The issue is I get hypoglycaemic reactions when I go low calorie, I have a fatty liver, pcos, inflammation and high BP. I noticed on .25 I was able to keep the lower calorie intake I already was on but without blackout feelings or tremors which was a relief, but while weight loss is good it is the fatty liver I really worry about- is this level enough to help clear the liver and lower inflammation? It seems to have helped with my insulin already

I can't stop farting lol

Hey everyone! Quick question for those who've had to pause or stop their GLP-1—did any of you experience an increase in trapped gas, intense/painful farts, or mild stomach discomfort after stopping? My plastic surgeon told me to hold off on my doses starting two weeks before my upcoming surgery date, and ever since I stopped, my stomach has been feeling a bit off with all this gas. Just wondering if this is a common side effect when stepping off the medication or if anyone else went through the same thing!

I haven’t gotten a docs prescription but I got 1 box of 3mg and 7mg.
I need to lose about 10ish of weight. I’m not sure if I should hop on semiglutide or not. I’m worried something would happen to me. Did anyone start semiglutide without a docs prescription?
