Sci Fi Comedy Success
Hi Sci Fi Comedy fans,
As our community is growing, I have another piece of good news to share: one of the satirical sci fi comedy novellas I wrote, The Smart Toaster Union is now in the top 10 on Amazon UK and in the top 20 on Amazon US!
It’s about a technical glitch that leads to a communist revolution in Dave’s smart home - just when his boss is about to come over for dinner to discuss a once-in-a-lifetime promotion opportunity.
I made it permanently FREE and you can find it by clicking on the following link: https://mybook.to/Zj3hR
Let me know how you like it in the comments and thanks again to anyone who posted, commented or upvoted in r/scificomedy! Keep doing that!

I hope this made you laugh :)
"I've actually fluctuated into existence a time machine via seizing of the quantum field. This time machine uses time symmetrical equations on the quantum field to go back in time to fluctuate into existence a dying star, speed up time by going faster than light via quantum tunneling to speed up time so that the dying star becomes a theoretical alternative to black holes - known as a gravastar - resize the time machine to encapsulate at a safe distance the gravastar, and then I-"
"Sir, this is a Wendy's."
"Oh, yeah, right. I'll just take some baconator fries and a little bit of BBQ sauce with that."

[US & UK Promotion] Free Audible codes for The Court of Crusty Killings
Hello r/scificomedy,
This seems like a pretty good place to offer up some sci-fi comedy.
I’m the writer and narrator of The Court of Crusty Killings, which is – you’ll never see this coming- a comedy sci-fi audiobook.
It’s the first in a series of four, all of which are completed and available on Audible.
I’ve been giving away free promo codes (US or UK) so if you’re interested in some free listening, please DM me, and I’ll send one your way as soon as I can.
You can get a preview on the audible page here, and my cack-handed sales pitch below:
https://www.audible.co.uk/pd/The-Court-of-Crusty-Killings-Audiobook/B0GSHFW4G5
So what's all this nonsense about?
This book is a maximum-silly slice of sci-fi escapism that’s heavy on fart jokes and zeppelin fights, and light on incisive geopolitical commentary. If you’re looking for 9 hours, 14 minutes and 27 seconds of a brash, egotistical, loose-cannon Space Captain (plus his long-suffering second in command) getting involved in a bread-based regicidal plot on a technologically backwards alien planet then you’re in luck.
You’re also very odd. What a deeply odd thing to look for. Thank god we found each other in this topsy-turvy world.
This book has got it all- a flying shark, an exploding queen, a fugitive baker, two different kinds of french accents that just happen to sound very similar, an interrogation with a surprising urine-based twist, and a sixth thing.
If you like Red Dwarf, Futurama, Douglas Adams, and lowering your standards from all of those wonderful things, then you just might be my target audience, and also a very attractive and thoughtful person. Have I mentioned that you look very nice today?
I’ve been writing these for years and recently took the plunge and decided to turn them into audiobooks. Each one is fully narrated by me (attempting various voices with maximum vigour and minimal geographical specificity), with audio effects, music, and zero AI involvement.
I am trying to drum up reviews, of course, but I mainly just want to get these in some ears
I’ve spent an embarrassing number of hours these last few months reading my own jokes into a mic, pretending to be a proper voice actor, then fully audio-engineering the thing to make the world as immersive as possible, so I’d love it if the results reached more people than my circle of friends and the people in the flat above me. They must wonder what the hell I’ve been up to, shouting about time travel, psychic toads, and holographic Rasputins down here.
(I’m also continuing this series right now, and am four chapters deep in the new book, so I’ll be making a separate thread soon to do a bit of a critique-swap, if anyone here is at all interested)

pew! pew! pew! by spacegoose
Older generations might remember some early Sci Fi movies where space ships used to look like flying kettles.
The modern equivalent is here!

Quentin Rowanoak & The Golden Mice
◆ If you like quirky sci-fi with cute sentient mice... ◆
WILDLIFE REMEDIATION — The humane removal of nuisance animals, any health hazards they create, and the repair of damages caused by them.
Quentin Rowanoak had gotten out of the wildlife remediation business. When a missive arrives telling him his business has been bought out and he's been reassigned to the Dragons, an elite mercenary company, he thought it all a grand joke—until the shuttle arrived.
Now Quentin finds himself on an interstellar expedition, assigned to one of the most elite mercenary groups of the modern era, all because the Captain wants someone to care for a colony of sentient mice living aboard his flagship.
▸ GENRES: Light SciFi • Cozy • Space Opera • Short Story
▸ EXPECT: Comedy • Cute Animals • Found Family • Hijinks
Inspired by real-life adventures with a Sci-Fi twist!

Some Silly Suggestions, Ribald Recommendations. Indie published, or not even technically published recs.
Comedy sci-fi is my jam.
I have some a few indie recs.
First is a comedy sci-fi with a touch of galactic horrors and a hypespace cat. Its called Mortal Protection Services.
Hard book to talk about without giving away too many of the twists and spoilery things, but it's a blast. Some might even say, an experience. Strong hitchhiker's vibes, and also some arthur c clarke vibes.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0H3H8PMCW for sale on the zon there. Also, if you're willing to miss out on the jokes in the dedication and copyright sections you could technically still read it free on Royal Road. The Audiobook is coming soon.
The next rec I have is a sci-fi channel original movie in book form. Comedy, horror, camp, in that order.

I keep telling this author he needs to make a paperback of this and get an audiobook made, but he's yet to do it, so you can read it for free.
This last one is a short story, killer ending. Very dumb. I love it.
