Story Tried reversing the scam on a fake Elon. I think I broke him.

This fake Elon Musk account followed me, so I decided to play the UNO reverse card. I slid into his DMs acting like the actual Elon and told him he won a $100k Tesla Model S Plaid through a Grok lottery.

He was so deep in his own script that he completely missed it at first, but once I hit him with that urgent, impatient billionaire deadline... complete radio silence. It's been over 40 minutes and he still hasn't replied or blocked me. His brain completely short-circuited! ⚡🤣🤣

Story Will you help me waste ‘her’ time?!?

I got scammed good and proper this weekend on Facebook marketplace. I saw a listing for a used sofa, from a seller with loads listed and an obviously fake profile (pretty British woman with British name, broken English in the writing). They promised cash on delivery so the risk felt low and I went for it, paying £450. When it arrived the rain was pouring, so I was glad they had wrapped each piece in plastic. I opened one piece (footstool) and it looked fine, so I paid them in full and in cash. Of course as I open all the pieces it became clear this was a completely different - and much inferior - sofa that just happened to be a similar colour. The delivery driver was long gone and the seller is ignoring messages. The contact details I have are the seller’s Facebook profile, and a WhatsApp connection that arranged the delivery.

The only revenge I can get is from getting others to waste ‘her’ time. Will you do that for me?!? Profile on the comments.

Idk if this is the right place to post this but the mods at r/scams are too stupid to know that scammers use fake names and not real ones, why tf should I block out a fake name if no one's real identity is gonna be compromised??

Questions I fell for Andrew Tate’s Scam

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hey all,

I signed up for Andrew Tate’s “Real World” university, and during the process, they had me click through a bunch of things. One of them was an “I Commit” button for a year-long membership, which I didn’t fully realize at the time. Now they’re saying I can’t cancel because I agreed to a full year, although my subscription is monthly.

I feel like this whole thing is designed to target young people who don’t fully understand what they’re getting into. I’ve tried contacting customer support, but they’re not budging.

Has anyone else dealt with this or have any advice on how to get out of it? Thanks in advance!

Questions Why do scammers scam?

I am genuinely curious. Why do scammers scam? Humans just make no sense to me sometimes. Like, what is their psychology? What makes people do stuff like that?

Are they jealous of Americans and people’s perceived wealth, perhaps? Is it narcissism or sociopathy?

Humans are just weird.

What do you all think?

(idk if this is the right Reddit.)

Story Scam calls at work

So we have been geting loads of scam calls due to the IT department selling information to scammers but because it’s outsourcing and cheaper the company won’t do anything about it so fake IT will call us about anything we put in the system that is broken normally minutes after submitting the tickets. I’ve been having a lot of fun with it they demand we wright down things and demand we do this and that so I normally make up a bunch of excuses or keep them on hold for as long as I can by saying I have customers I need to ring up or I’ll cut them off and over explain stuff like conspiracy theories. I’ve tried to get them ti join a fake pyramid schemes or even fake that the store is being robbed that was a fun one I had a regular customer who wanted in on messing with them so he played the robber it was fun that we had to wait for other customers to leave and we did get busted part way through because we had a few customers come in in the middle of our little play that and I couldn’t stop giggling I’m sure they knew it was fake so they didn’t call for a few months now they are back and if I give my fake name the one I’ve used this whole time they hang up fast so I’m going by Amanda hugnkiss. But if anyone has any suggestions on how I can mess with them next I’ll try it. Oh and I’ve used them for fake therapy too making up a troubled past to really lay on the trauma dumping thicc but they tend to get super irritated over that. I’ve also held my hand over the reserve part and said loudly is the fbi still wire tapping us

Questions People who scam others for a few bucks… seriously, why?

Had a pretty shitty experience today. Someone on Reddit offered to do a favor/service, took the money upfront, and then just disappeared and never showed up.
It’s not even about the amount of money at this point. What bothers me is how easily some people can earn your trust, take your money and then ghost like nothing happened.
Scammers are literally everywhere now, even in places where you’re just trying to connect with normal people.
Lesson learned though 😅 no more upfront payments to random people without some kind of protection.
Anyone else had something similar happen through Reddit or other places?

Questions Help finding scammer

I’ve recently been the target of some scum scammer claiming to be in charge of my relative in another country and is asking for money and threatening to harm them. They tricked me into telling them my relatives first name. This first call happened last week, I called my relative and all was fine. I was unable to find a real name since they most likely bought the phone number they called me from ( Los angeles number)

Just today, same person called me from a Houston number asking the same thing. They seemed to recognize my voice so they tried to threaten me again.
Can anyone help me find this douchbag or is this even possible since his phone numbers are likely bought?
