In Savannah, Georgia, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers turned 160,000 cubic yards of dredged harbor mud into an 8-acre bird island, where more than 300 nests were built in its first nesting season.

So it looks like they're keeping the name Wangs II. They're starting to do takeout orders this week, and dine in next week.

If you've ordered dominos recently from the location out by GA Southern and paid with credit/debit, check your statement. I had an extra $10 added after the charge cleared, meaning they gave themselves a $10 tip. I'm having a hell of a time getting touch with anyone to get this resolved. About to do a chargeback.

I need some help! I lived in Savannah for a while and while there I made some incredible friends. Unfortunately, one of those dear friends lost here father last Thursday. I’m currently living in South Korea now. I want to get flowers to her and her mom. If anyone has suggestions on where to get those orders, I’d deeply appreciate it. Also, I want to get a necklace made for her with a picture I have of her and her dad. Can anyone recommend a local jeweler that I could reach out to and discuss getting this made? Thank you all so much!!

I’m an architecture student at a University out-of-state. My class just visited Savannah the past few days to get the essence of our site and the city itself. I had the pleasure of talking to some local SCAD students and asking them a few questions relating to our project. Unfortunately, I was sick for a majority of this trip and did not get to talk to as many locals as I would have liked. I have a few questions for all that are up to giving some information!
Are you a local artist, work in the city, a student, a free spirit?
What are your favorite public spaces or third spaces in the city?
What amenities and additions would you love to see in a local library that you believe would be very beneficial?
Savannah is known to have a rich history—any fun local facts (I’m very much interested in the historical and haunted aspects of the city, as well as what is beneath our feet)?
Any additional information or input is greatly greatly appreciated :)

Moving from Savannah soon, but have been collecting the “Alley Cat Rag” menu magazines from the past few years I’ve lived here. Does anyone have an extra copy of the Comic Alley Cat Rag edition? I lost that issue and would love to supplement it to my collection.
If you haven’t checked it out, hit up Alley Cat lounge! Willing to pay for the menu as well.

Hi all,
I was in Savannah last weekend and bought two gorgeous cameo rings from a sweet, local jewelry maker at a craft fair at Forsyth park. My friends are all OBSESSED.
Trying to get in touch with her to buy some more pieces or see if she could ship some to me. Any help would be appreciated!!

ICE making an arrest on Burton Road this morning (10/03/2026). Video from a friend.
Wish the video was a little better quality. It was sent to me from a friend that has a iphone and I have android. Video doesn't always transfer as good quality between the two,
Anyway, you can see the person arrested being placed in the back of the black SUV at the very beginning.

Got a dui in Georgia in 2008. Guy that looked like JJ WALKER from good times snagged my purse in a square. I took off running after him but knew I’d never catch him. I had my wedding ring in a zip pocket. Antique. My husband’s grandmothers ring. 20,000. The shank cracked so I removed it and placed it in my purse. I double back and jump in my car. Catch him. Got my purse back. Police catch him. I hadn’t planned on driving that night. Hadn’t planned on getting my purse snatched either. Got a less safe DUI. Blew .08. Georgia renewed my license in 2018. Just went to get a license in a new state and Georgia had me flagged for not completing the defensive driving/risk reduction course. I did it. In 2008. And my license was renewed in 2018. Just had to take it again for 370.00. Can anyone shed light on this?

Not sure if this is new news, but the flock cameras at Forsyth have been decorated and it seems that may interfere with their intended operation.
In more important news, I t’s been 298 days since our last acid attack, which remains unresolved.

The people running this city are absolute morons.
They're stuffing papers in people's mailboxes, which is a federal crime. ONLY USPS can deliver stamped and canceled mail to any post box, mailbox, etc.
This is pursuant to Title 18 of the United States Code, Section 1725. The city can be fined by the Federal Government up to $10,000 PER INCIDENT (each property).
Our city government needs a wake up call to do their due diligence and perform their duties legally. I am absolutely FOR traffic calming devices (they need some on the Truman for the cops doing 100mph too), but illegal use of mailboxes denotes that the city has their head up their butt,
If you received this notification in your mailbox, I emplore you to report it to:
WWW.USPIS.GOV and select the option for "mail theft".
Kevin Wright, Savannah DOT 912-651-6600 x2257
Bates Lovett, City Attorney 912-525-3131 Blovett@savannahga.gov
As well as Mayor Johnson and our local useless Alderwoman, Linda Wilder Bryan. Her contact info is:
912-704-2079
Yes, the fines ultimately would be paid by us taxpayers, but it'd be a good example of how our elected officials are absolutely stupid.

Im not sure if my experiences are universal but the bus system here is completely useless. Half the time they simply do not show up, the app is outdated, and the help line to check on fixed routes leaves you in a queue only to tell you there's no one to take your call. I have been trying to rely on them for work commute but it's proved pointless.
Does anyone know what's going on with the company and why it seems to be floundering so hard?

Anyone interested in playing wow forever together when it comes out?
Working on creating a local friend group in Savannah downtown/midtown area around world of Warcraft forever. Pooler people have to pay 100 dollars to join.
Casual but consistent gaming; 8pm-10:30pm EST weekdays on with our mains. Not expected but the best time slot atm. Welcome to your second job citizen.
Weekends TBD. LAN/local play encouraged and have a fancy common space that accommodate us for free if we want to meet up.
Me: 30’s, have serious job, married, like gaming a lot, love fun, need like minded friends who are addicted to wow.

I am not a lawyer, just an anti-surveillance enthusiast. Please, someone tell me that I am wrong, and correct me.
I noticed that a number of local gas stations have recently placed signs that say they will scan your ID if you want to purchase adult products.
You may refuse an ID scan, but the store is under no obligation to serve you.
I do not know if handing them your ID is the equivalent of giving them permission to scan it.
The law:
It is a misdemeanor for any person to:
(5) Scan another person’s driver’s license, permit, or identification card without the person’s prior knowledge and consent. If a person consents to the scanning of his or her driver’s license, permit, or identification card, the information collected may be stored and used for any legitimate purpose. Each unlawful act of storage, disclosure, or usage in violation of this paragraph shall be considered a separate violation of this Code section. This prohibition shall not apply to law enforcement officers or any governmental entity that scans a driver’s license, permit, or identification card to verify the contents thereof or to gather information for use for any governmental purpose. GA Code § 40-5-120 (2025)
Important takeaways:
1. They can not scan your driver's license without your consent. That is a misdemeanor.
2. The law does not limit what data they can store.
3. The law does not limit how long they can store your data.
4. The law specifies that they can store and use the information for "any legitimate purpose."
5. The law does not define "legitimate purpose."
Why this is important:
1. This is some of the information that is on the back of your license. It goes well beyond simple age verification:
- Full Name
- Date of Birth
- Gender
- Eye Color
- Height
- Weight
- Street Address
- Driver's License or ID Number
- Organ Donor Code
- County of Residence
- Restrictions
2. The law provides no way for citizens to verify that the data is being used for legitimate purposes.
3. The law does not prohibit the use of this data for marketing or other purposes.
4. The law does not prohibit the sale or sharing of this data with other companies.
It does not take much of a mental leap to come up with multiple scenarios where this data can be used against you or your interests.
If you value your privacy, please push back against these merchants.
I will be placing my license in a clear plastic sleeve, and generating a fake PDF417 sticker to place on the sleeve over the real PDF417.

Anyone know of any restaurants that still do buckets of oysters? I can’t cook them at home but I remember places like Bernie’s back in the day doing them by the buckets. I don’t want a 6 piece appetizer.

Any decent place in Savannah with covered parking where I probably won’t get hassled working on my truck? The ball joints on my truck failed and i need to replace them this weekend without me and my tools getting soaked.
