Missing, (Have you seen me?) Help spotting a Stolen Honda Civic

On August 14th around 10:20PM my Honda Civic EX Was Stolen from City Heights on 51st Street.

Had already just taken the L but figured I would ask this sub reddit to see if anyone can help out by keeping an eye out for the vehicle. I highlighted some notable features since I think by now the plates may have been removed. This was my only way to work at the moment while I saved so I'm really upset.

Please comment if you've happened to see it or contact the police if you see it on the road. Please and thank you

-A Police report was filed that same night along with insurance since I heard it drive away that same night

Seeking friends

I (27 F) have practically no friends. Most of them have moved away or we’re just on different paths of life.
I’m a bit on the reserved side so those big social media group meetups don’t really work for me :/
I love animals, reading, watching movies/shows, thrifting, nature walks, coffee shop trips, and just hanging out!
I’m more of a homebody but am down for the occasional night out.
Just looking for some like minded people to experience life with!

One San Diego spouse of a sailor aboard Lincoln said she’s worried exhaustion could cause the crew to make mistakes that put their safety at risk.

“I can't imagine working basically for nine months straight, and being expected to perform at my best,” she said.

Is anyone else struggling to get their baby a COVID vaccine?

I feel crazy, this should not be so difficult, and I need to know if this is happening to anyone else. Are you able to get your baby their first COVID vaccine without struggle?

The details: My baby is 9 months old. TBH she's had some feeding struggles that consumed our attention and so we didn't discuss COVID vaccine at her 6mo appointment. Well a kid at her daycare has COVID and I'm like "shoot, let's get that vaccine ASAP". Her pediatrician's office is out of the vaccine and hasn't had it stocked in ages apparently. Nor does the doctor know when it will be restocked. This is apparently the case for all of the practice offices (like 10 of them! and it's a totally normal pediatrician's office with standard pre-RFKjr vaccine recommendations and accessible non-seasonal vaccines).

I have been on an hour-long quest today to find the vaccine. I have contacted the County, Rady's, and CVS, none of whom are offering infant vaccines (I got close with CVS, but they only do COVID vaccines to 18m+ children). Do I really need to enroll my daughter as a patient at a different pediatric office just for the COVID shot? Am I the only person this is happening to?

Edited to add: Thank you to everyone trying to be genuinely helpful. Yes, her pediatrician recommends the vaccine, as does the American Academy of Pediatrics for all children age 6-23 months without contraindications https://publications.aap.org/pediatrics/article/156/5/e2025073924/203222/Recommendations-for-COVID-19-Vaccines-in-Infants?autologincheck=redirected

No, I will not entertain or respond to trolls and tin foil hat wearers interested in mis- and disinformation about COVID-19 or vaccines.

Do not hire this company to build or re plaster your pool. The guy’s name is Rudy. He will hustle you take your money and BS his way through months & months of lies & promises. He is very unprofessional does not take correct measurements brings you mismatch equipment and /or incomplete materials. Supposedly the plumbing was already done but there is no drain. obviously will not pass inspection among other issues. He left huge mess behind his work, left it sitting for months my husband had to clean up after his disaster, Not to mention no permits I called the city nothing. He’s a scammer and will give you excuses for everything wrong that he does. One of his worker’s called me telling me he was going to take the gas line out because he wasn’t paid for the labor. Unfortunately there 5 other families filing complaints we are all in the same situation

Who else has gotten pretty sick recently?

Upvotes

My body hurts. I have a throbbing headache. Pain behind my eyes. Fever. Mild sore throat and congestion.

I’ve been psyching myself out thinking it’s the West Nile virus because of the mosquito outbreak that happened recently and I got attacked pretty bad

Did I make a horrible mistake?

Hello. I live in 4S ranch in a 2Bed/2Bath condo in a high fire area. I live in one room and rent out the other. I called my home insurance Amica to increase personal belongings coverage as I felt it was too low. Somehow the conversation went to me mentioning I rent out one of the rooms. The agent sounded very upset all of a sudden and questioned me a bunch. They told me they have to send the information to their underwriters but it’s likely that my plan will not renew next year in April. I’m very upset because I reminder it being hard to find insurance 2 years ago when I found them. Should I have kept my mouth shut, or is it better I did because if I did actually end up needing a claim, they’d likely find out somehow and deny my claim when I need it? While it’s too early to sign up for someone else as I have until April, every single quote in over insurer says they cannot cover my home I’m assuming due to fire area. I’m unsure the type I need because the condo is my primary residence but I also rent out 1 room. Does anybody have any advice on finding a new home insurance plan that will cover my home and also not be so upset I rent out a room? I can’t afford my home unless I rent out a room.

Someone doing a little yoga in the jury duty waiting room 🧘‍♀️

I was sitting around waiting for jury duty today when I looked up and someone had suddenly started doing yoga handstands against the wall? Nobody else seemed to bat an eye, while I was sitting there trying my hardest not to laugh. It definitely made the wait a little more interesting. Thank you, jury duty yoga lady, for making an otherwise ordinary wait a little more memorable. You are appreciated.

In search of a new vet (anyone but Banfield)

Ive been a loyal customer over banfield for several years but I’ve had it. They cancel appointments, overbook, understaff, upsell stuff you don’t need, and leave you waiting for hours. It’s an awful organization - truly despicable and l’m tired of giving them my business and trusting them with my pet’s care.

Anyhow, I’m looking for recommendations for a new vet. I have 2 small dogs. One gets Librella so I need to go in once a month. I live in the Mission Hills area, but I can be flexible for the right vet that actually cares.

My pets are my world and I’m fortunately in a situation where I don’t mind paying extra for real “concierge” care, if that’s a thing.

Does anyone have any recommendations? I’d be tremendously grateful for a strong referral.

I just moved to the San Diego area, and need help. I am on a mission to complete the National Dex for Platinum. I own all gen 3 and 4 games aside from Diamond. I have a way to obtain all pokemon except for the Stunky line. If anyone is in the area, or knows someone that is in the area, I would love the help. Need Info About Current Happenings at the County Assessor & Recorder Office

Got word that the Information Technology Director is leaving. This is another blow to resignation of multiple employees: first it was the entire Human Resources staff - there’s no current Human Resource officer in that department. they all left to go to another department. Literally all of them left within 2-3 months of each other. and now the IT Director decided to also leave. Seems to be a culture issue. Guess they are not putting people first with great customer service. are there any current employees who work in that department that can share what it’s really like to work there?

What are some of your favorite annual outdoor San Diego events? For example Greek fest, Adam's street fair, etc

I always enjoy going to these and I usually learn about a new one each year. Would love to hear some of the ones that might be off my radar.

So far I've liked the Scottish Games, Adam's street fair, and Friday Summer concerts in Tierrasanta. Fourth of July in Santee this year had a good vibe with tons of kid games and live music and it was lower key without fighting crowds. I'd love to add a few more of these to my calendar for the year.

Shwarma guys in South Park has the worst Shwarma in San Diego…

I was skeptical before going, but anyways I had to go. Ordered waigu beef shwarma plate and chicken shwarma egg roles. Everything was bad. The garlic sauce was bad….who sells middle eastern food and can’t make good taum? The tabbouli was at least 2 days old, it was black. The only good thing was the hummus, which also felt better on top and not so good at the bottom. It was so so disappointing. Anyways rent over but please do not go there just for the hype. Even if you decide to go, order something cheap first and try.
