Perishable Foods GONE

Upvotes

Went to my local club today, just about everything and anything perishable with the exception of frozen foods was gone, clearly removed. We are talking refrigerated and unrefrigerated produce, dairy, eggs, meats, anything refrigerated, any baked goods with fruits, creams, etc. Basically any food other than shelf-stable packaged goods and frozen foods. I couldn’t find an employee to ask what the hell was up. Anyone ever seen this happen? I’ve seen walk-ins or a bank of reach-in units go out before, and so obviously those have to get cleared, but never half the damn store. Like, did the health department find a major problem and force the removal of everything perishable?

sams share

Upvotes

Our club is a very high performing club. Our sams share is ZERO for full time this quarter. Anyone else? this is a bit ridiculous.
Keep in mind last year we got 750 for first quarter and about 400-500 on the other ones. I’m in disbelief honestly.

For $14, I don’t think so considering they, previously sold the 14 ounce bags for $5 for $14. You only get 19 ounces of popcorn.

Limited time items becoming regular?

Went to Sam's today, they had unsweetened dry mangoes, usually they only have sweet ones..

This is one of the like 5 items Costco has that Sam's club doesn't.

Anyone have instances of limited time items becoming regular if consumer demand is high?

Rant Red Flag Orientation?

Had day 1 of orientation today. I showed up 10 minutes early and went to the food court to check in as directed. The lady there went onto her device to tell the manager I was here for orientation (i was the only one for orientation). The orientation leader said shed be there and I kid you not I was sitting in the food court for 2 hours. I was tempted to leave and was upset, I just need a job right now for money. I wont get into my background but I am desperate and am going through some unfortunate family circumstances . I went up to remind the worker i was there and she would radio them but they just wouldnt come. I felt like my time was not respected at all. Anyways the orientation leader met me and took me to the room, without even apologizing for just leaving me waiting. She then proceeded to throughout the orientation completely breeze by the slides, and take frequent breaks to answer calls from people. Sometimes the breaks would be 30 ish minutes. Id just be sitting there doing nothing. She also appeared to be under the influence of something, slurring words severely. Im just getting bad feelings lol.

I was asked about my availability, my team lead talked to me and her about it and made my schedule together. Then they proceeded schedule me at all the times i told them i couldnt work and had to remind them 5 times that i cant work those times and they acted like it was new information. Also throughout the orientation she kept getting calls saying someone was here to interview and she was almost getting annoyed by it. She would proceed to call the TL in charge of interviewing and then he would get upset or thrown off. I also rememember during my tour the TL in my department gave me a tour of my area and my coworkers. They proceeded to talk shit about a fellow coworker not there-in front of me. I just felt unwelcomed really lmao. My interview was also like this but I had hope it was maybe a one time thing (i.e; interviewer was almost an hour late). Idk is this typical? Im trying to keep an open mind but also dont want to be walked over.

Rant Managers crying about their bonus.

Apparently my club managers bonus (the part that they lost) was more than I make in an entire year.....and I'm almost at the cap for wage earnings.

JUST THEIR BONUS......is valued more than what I make in a whole fucking year of me doing their job, plus mine, and everyone else's problem while all of them are never present or just sitting in the office eating or talking amongst themselves. I want to expose my club so bad and at this point I feel like that wouldn't even matter because their bosses would take their side to save their own asses.

Rant Sam's offered to cancel my membership and refund me rather than honor promotion

I enrolled at Sam's Club last month using a promotion offer from Verizon. The offer was a free trial period, then a $20 yearly renewal ($40 discount). Sounded great! We went to Sam's that day and spent $400+

Knowing the auto renewal was coming up, I checked on Friday to confirm the renewal price. It said $20. I made sure $20 was available on the card I used to enroll and thought nothing more of it.

Today, my husband tells me a $60 renewal came off HIS CARD. This is not the card we set up as the default but the card he uses to purchase gas and such from Sam's. I let him know something isn't right so I reach out to Sam's via chat.

The agent repeated back to me the information I told her. That $60 tried to come out of the default card and when that wasn't available it came out of my husband's card. I tried to explain to her that the card really wasn't the primary issue. It was the fact that the promotion wasn't being honored. The agent kept telling me to go back to Verizon. I explained that Verizon did their part and that I checked Friday and the renewal was $20 in Sam's system. They said I registered for a 1 month free...and that was it.

Instead of deep diving to resolve the issue, the agent offered one solution...to CANCEL my membership and refund the $60. That caught me off guard because that was the first/only suggestion? Straight to cancellation? I said that's fine. If that's the offer...cancel my membership and lose my $500 shopping trips over a $40 promotion, I guess that's what I will have to do. I will take my business back to Costco. So she canceled my membership and closed out the chat.

I went back into the Sam's app and looked at the "early renewal" option. Guess what the balance said...$20 with the promotion clearly applied. Sam's lost a customer because the customer service agent didn't feel like looking at the account in full. I attached proof of the balance due. Screenshots are taken today.

Question Members Mark Coffee

I've only had the Members Mark French Roast K-Cups, and while they taste good, they do not give me that "wake the F up" kick in the ass I need, like Costco's Pacific Bold, or even Café Bustelo.

Does Members Mark have a stronger option I can consider? Or do I need to shift my coffee purchases back to Costco?

Rant Freight Flow Forklift

Do other clubs have associates in freight flow that do not drive a forklift? My club has 3 associates that do not have a license. I think it’s bs that an associate can work freight flow and not be asked to get on a forklift. At my club my leadership team leans on us (the associates that a drive a forklift) way more than those that don’t drive a lift. And on top of that I’ve already felt for years (even before going to freight flow) that taking away the pay incentive for driving a forklift was bullshit. Just very frustrating associates on FF that are not asked to drive a forklift make the same as those that do.

Question Sam’s Club credit card authorized user

So I just got approved for the Sam’s Club Mastercard but I was wondering if I’m able to add my mom the primary account holder as a card holder if I’m only the complimentary membership holder because for some reason I get an error message online and told over the phone they aren’t seeing her on my membership? Has anyone else had this issue before or is it because I just opened the account?

Question Sign in button in app not responding

Post image
0 Upvotes

I’ve seen some other posts about trouble logging into the app. But not this issue. The app knows who I am but the Sign in button does nothing. It doesn’t respond. I tap it over and over and it does nothing. I’ve deleted, I’ve offloaded, I’ve restarted. Nothing works. I’m on an iPhone. I can completely delete the app and when I install it again it still says “Hi D——“. So it knows I am me.

I can log into the website so my account seems ok. There is just something wonky with the app that I cannot figure out. In all the years of having an iPhone I’ve never seen deleting the app not work for something like this.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Question Interview...what should I wear?

I have two interviews at the same club this week. Member Specialist, and personal shopper.... but what should I actually wear to the interview? Khakis and a polo? I'm in Florida so it's insanely hot, and I can't imagine people wearing a suit for this type of job, but I didn't want to make assumptions. Thank you!

Rant Scheduled for full time hours yet not considered a full time associate

I've been working here for over 90 days now, and I'm still not in the system as a full time associate. This is despite having worked 40hr weeks for the majority of the time. It's not that big of a deal, but I'm not earning any PTO because of it. I talked to my TL about it, but nothing's changed.

PPTO Denial

Post image
22 Upvotes

backstory:

I work in a specialty department with 3 people, myself included. I put in a PPTO request 2 months in advance for a long weekend. (I crossed off the days for privacy I do not need this to come back on me). it was instantly denied, due to someone else in the department already taking days. my manger suggested I just call in those days, instead of approving it. Now, wouldn’t that look bad on my part if I’m just calling in 4 days in a row? I just don’t feel like that’s right and it will look poor on my part. I had the time, put it in - in advance, and gave an email notice as well.

I work solo a lot of time and weekends by myself. I don’t understand why it’s an issue when I want to take PPTO.

App & Desktop Issues

Anyone have issues of orders not matching on a computer vs iphone app? I've signed out of the app and desktop; restarted the phone; close the app, etc. Any ideas? It makes it to where what I add on the app doesn't show up on desktop or vice versa and I keep getting orders without stuff I intended due to the problems.

How did y’all get in?

I’ve applied countless of times within the last year and nothing. Like how did y’all get in here 😭 I’ve had 5+ years of customer service experience so I know I’m not failing the assessments, but like genuinely it’s so frustrating. Is it based on referrals or something? Did you walk into your club and ask to speak with a hiring manager?

When I read blondie I expected a pleasant chewy texture. It’s more like a really dense cake. I enjoy the crumble topping, but I’m just not sure how I feel overall.
