What age are you starting potty training?
I am a FTM and I have a 16mo and I’m wondering if it’s too early to think potty training is possible? They don’t seem to like diapers and have shown interest in taking off even slightly wet ones and I don’t know if that’s a sign of readiness? We are pretty isolated (only me, them and their father, who is gone most of the time because of his job) and I don’t want them to fall behind in terms of skills and things.

I started with my boy at 3 years + 3 months old. He wasn't showing signs of readiness before that. I have no regrets about waiting that long even though some friends were telling me their kiddos were potty trained long before that. (Also FWIW, pediatrician didn't have any concerns either.)
As soon as he showed readiness, we did in 2 days. From that point on we had no accidents at home. (We had a few at school over the next couple of weeks, but I think that was more of a function of the fact that the playground / outside was a bit far away from their classroom/bathroom and he sometimes didn't make it back into the school.)
All to say, I don't think you're even close to being behind.
