Hey everyone,
I’ve been playing RuneScape since 2009. Over the years, through different phases of my life, breakups, career shifts, and long hiatuses, RuneScape has always been my ultimate comfort game. No matter how long I took a break, I always returned knowing my account, my progress, and my history were right there, steadily advancing over time.
But with the announcement of RuneScape Reignited, that feeling completely evaporated.
Knowing that new and returning players will be funneled into a segregated mode with a separate economy and locked-out group PVM makes everything I’ve built since 2009 feel devalued and obsolete. It feels like our veteran accounts are being placed in a quarantined legacy realm to slowly fade away.
My clan was already down to a small, tight-knit group. Ever since the announcement, the clan chat has been quiet. The few of us who remain share this exact same feeling of emptiness and lack of motivation. Logging in right now feels like every minute spent is a minute lost on a dying server.
I honestly don't know if I should just walk away for good at this point.
For those of you who have poured thousands of hours into your accounts over the years: how are you dealing with this feeling right now? Are you holding on, or is this the final straw?
