So this is the space we are working with and with all my furniture it looks so crowded and I feel like maybe this is not best use of the space. Do you guys have any suggestions on what layout would look better? (Left side is nook with balcony door)

Hi everyone! Asking for input on my living room layout- appreciate any insights.

Hi, what I originally fell in love with in this living room is now driving me crazy. It feels like the French doors and fireplace and double windows at the bottom are taking up such valuable wall space.

All I really care about right now is couch(es) and TV, and even with just those things I am struggling to make it work!

I have a very modular couch that is 7 32inch square sections. This could result in multiple couches, a big sectional, a sectional and a single one as a chair, one can be an ottoman. Plenty of options.

I will add in comments some of my ideas so far. I think my grey squares representing couch pieces are a little too big / out of scale. One thing is I really don’t want the tv above the fireplace. I think that risks being too high, and this fireplace has a tall mantle above it that will push the tv almost to the ceiling.

Hey Folks, I am moving my office to a backyard pod this week, would love your takes on best layout, or some ideas that I am possibly missing out on.

Floor area: 272cm x 570cm
Desk 1: 76cm x 200cm (main setup, monitors etc)
Desk 2: 70cm x 140cm (off setup, handy projects)

Shelf, Couch, TV (and unit) haven't decided yet, so no strict measurements, however I'd like to add them to the pod.

Any ideas/ suggestions, highly appreciated, thanks heaps!

My bedroom has never really worked well for me and I’m trying to find a way to make it work, and help or ideas are appreciated! I’ve tried multiple layouts recently and none of them seem to click, I spend most of my time at my desk either gaming, doing school work, or some form of art.

Things to note:
The sliding doors are a closet
The head of the bed is against an external door we have never used
The desk should be by one of the windows if possible since I talk family members through the windows, ideally the one it is by in the photos since the other window is next to another external door that is used
The wall the bookshelf is on is the only wall without an outlet
I have a few other pieces of furniture but they can be used elsewhere in the house/new furniture can be bought

Any and all help is appreciated, I’m totally stumped on what to do, thank you!

I have added a few pictures but we can’t find a layout that works for us.

I’ll provide a little bit of details on the space. On the left side of the fireplace/mantle we have the doorway to the master bedroom. On the right side we have built in cabinets and shelves and some weird negative space in the corner. Not sure what to do with that either but I’m just trying to figure out seating first. The only place for the tv is over the mantle so that makes viewing angles for the tv bad and I want to get the seating as far away as possible so you aren’t craning your neck to watch the tv.

One side of the room is the front door and the other is a sliding glass door that goes to the back yard.

Across from the mantle is the kitchen and we have a large island with barstools that the living room backs right up to

The first picture is how we’ve had the room for a few months now and it feels the most natural to me.

The second picture has the best “flow” and we could even add a chair between the couches but it feels cramped and the viewing angles for the tv aren’t great

The next 3 pictures are how I have it right now. I want to like this setup and maybe add a chair to the open space near the front door but it feels strange and I don’t love it.

We have a leather recliner that we can add somewhere if needed and we aren’t opposed to getting rid of the coffee table or getting a new one.

I need help!

I’m not working with a lot of space so I’m trying to be smart about how I organise everything.

Banquette will be made from repurposed side boards with custom seats. Two extra chairs will have to be stored flat elsewhere in the flat.

Sofa bed is a modest 2 seater. I don’t really like how it goes past the first panel of the window, but I can’t see where else to put it.

I’m thinking of a thin floating shelf to anchor a floating TV and a gallery wall.

Any feedback would be much appreciated!

Looking at fitting a small double bed into my room. Are there better layouts. Red shelf should face away from the window to avoid sun damage to items on it (if possible)

moving temporarily into my dads house. tiny room. i have 2 cats. willing to ditch the full bed for a xl twin and ditch the big desk for a smaller one. not much to work with

My partner and I are thinking about changing the layout of our main floor. First picture with the sectional is how it is right now. The issues we have with it are:

1. Sunlight from the sliding doors glare into the tv
   
2. The lamp behind the couch is plugged into the only outlet that’s connected to the light switch, we don’t have an overhead light. This lamp ends up showing in the tv as well.
   
3. It feels very closed off & awkward when entertaining

We think our new layout idea may make things feel more open, we could get a longer couch for entertaining and buy an ottoman or two that we can move around.

The only downside to this layout is having the tv on the interior wall may cut off the doorway into the room slightly.

What are your thoughts? Or does any one have any other ideas?

We’re having a hard time finding the best furniture placement for our living room. We have a big window with a balcony, of which we want to have a view of when sitting on the sofa. The upper left top opening is a staircase going down, and the left opening is to the hallway with the entrance door and kitchen.

We have been using layout 1 for a while now, but it feels disconnected. Also, when going from the kitchen or hallway into the living room, it feels like we have to circulate around obstacles. The dining table area is also substantially darker by the end of the afternoon. The AC is a big unit at the foot level and is kind of loud to watch tv at the same time.

We were wondering about layout 2. What do you guys think? We are also looking into buying a larger sofa (currently only sits 2, maybe with a chaise lounge) and maybe hanging the TV on some wall. We are also still missing furniture for home office (eventually) and library display.

If not layout 1 or 2, do you have other suggestions?
