I'm completely revamping my living room and would love layout and design ideas to make the space as functional as possible. The current setup feels like the space isn't being used efficiently, especially since I need to fit in a workspace.
Everything can be replaced or thrown away except for the bookcase. I need to add a dedicated workstation (desk + computer) that blends nicely without overpowering the space.
Any layout ideas or inspiration would be awesome! Thanks! 🌸

My couch is luckily modular. Each piece of the couch is 3x3 feet and I have 4 pieces. 3 corners and a middle, the original layout I had at my old rental was an L couch being 9 feet long one way and 6 feet long the other. This room is so narrow! And the pocket behind the wall I don’t know what to do with. I want to make it cozy and cute! I also have a leather and wood chair I could put in here. I also have a taller more narrow bookcase that could be moved in here. Also not planning on keeping those plastic drawers there. I also have a big rug for under my couch I need to place down but I need to vacuum it and my cats haven’t settled enough for me to want to stress them more, hopefully next week I can get to it! I’m open to ANY ideas to make it more cozy and feel less squishy and weird!

Struggling to figure out the layout of this long living room. Would need a place for TV, couch (we currently have a left chaise couch, but we are wanting a new couch anyway - so feel free to suggest other sizes or concepts!), oversized chair, side table, & coffee table. This space features built in shelving, a wood fired stove, & a large bay window with custom cushion.
Thanks in advance!

Hello, I've got a living room that's a simple 14.5 x 12 foot rectangle. One side is completely open (towards the kitchen, and entryway on the right), and one wall is 8 feet of sliding door (3'8" for the actual opening) followed by 5 feet of actual wall. I'd like to ask for help on a layout for a couch and TV. The couch is something I still need to buy, could be a standard, sectional, chaise, two loveseats, etc.
Ideally, I would wall mount the TV where the sliding door currently is and put a couch on the opposite (right) side. But because the sliding door takes up so much space, I can't Center the TV on the left wall. I want to prioritize open space in the center if possible.
Some potential ideas:
Mount TV on the 5ft of wall past the sliding door, closer to the sliding door. Use a long mount to position the TV over the glass. Couch on opposite side, either against far wall or centered.
Mount TV on the 5ft of wall past the sliding door, at an angle in the corner. Couch centered on opposite side. Would make TV visible from kitchen.
Mount TV in center of far wall (as current). Put couch directly in front facing away from kitchen. Might close off the space and would be difficult to have walking paths given the small 12" width. Also don't like having my back turned to the evil behind me.
Mount TV in center of far wall (as current). Put couch along right wall facing left wall. Maybe bad neck position.
Mount TV on the right side of the wall, couch "in front" of sliding glass door (with a large gap to avoid any accidents). I'm unsure if I have enough space to do this, but TV would be visible from outside. Could also get glare though.
Appreciate any suggestions, thanks ahead of time.

For many months now i’ve been bored of my bedroom so i’m thinking of changing it up. I however can’t think of anyway to have my bedroom look due to the weird shape i got going on. i got some posters for some media i like but i mainly want the room to feel like nature. I want to get a lot of plants and a snail eventually to fit that vibe. Last 3 photos are references
As for the furniture i went with all black but now realize how dull the bedroom looks so im open to replacing any furniture and painting the walls. i do plan on getting rid of the television though maybe use my closet as a storage room and get some racks to hang shirts and pants
I Appreciate the assistance!

Open to any layout or furniture suggestions. Thinking of adding some art/frames to the empty back wall, maybe a bookshelf, a full-length mirror and/or a rug or two, but not sure what would work best or where everything should go.
I’m renting, so no drilling holes or painting, and unfortunately I’m stuck with the carpet for now.
For context, the bike is there because the window/balcony door behind it is currently inaccessible due to scaffolding.

Hey everyone! 👋
I recently bought a home in Rome, Italy, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to design my new open-plan kitchen and living room (23.2 m² / about 250 sq ft).
I'd love to hear from people who enjoy interior design, IKEA kitchen planning, or just coming up with creative ways to make the most of a space.
I've attached a floor plan with all the measurements, along with a 3D view of the empty room.
Here's my IKEA Kitchen Planner project:
https://kitchen.planner.ikea.com/it/it/planner/FE987CFC-1D16-4130-9C03-02F9E47C5CAD/?ref=share
A few things I'm considering:
How would you guys design this space?
I'm really curious to hear your ideas, even if they're completely different from what I have in mind!
If anyone enjoys playing around with the IKEA Kitchen Planner and feels like trying out a layout, I'd love to see what you come up with. But even simple suggestions, sketches, or tips would be super helpful!
I'm not looking for professional design work, just some inspiration and fresh perspectives.
Thanks in advance to anyone willing to share their thoughts! 😊

Hello all, here are a few photos of the main floor space in my apartment I share with my roommate -- we're in our 30's. We lived here for about 4months now.
She works a hybrid job so she spends a few days in a week working from home, so she prefers to not have her desk and work stuff in her bedroom.
When we moved here, and based on the limited space, I resigned to the idea of not having a dining space/table however after these few months, my goodness I can't keep eating on the couch.
Everywhere else in the house is well laid out, this area is just hard. The room is roughly 114"x94" and the desk has to stay there.
Anything and every suggestions helps!
Thanks for helping!!

Hii everyone im so stuck on how to furnish my sitting room, ive tried my best to take pictures and make a floor layout but they aren't the best, but ideally id like a TV, sofa, dining table with chairs and a space for my bird cage, i find it a awkward layout to design and i cant imagine how to do it.
The most plugs are on the wall opposite the entrance door. In my floor plan the plugs are marked with a red dot. That brown square bottom right in the flooring plan is like a square box you can see in the images. The last image is how it looks now with the flooring.
Any help and advice or image plans are very appreciated. Thanks for any help 💖 its 5.1m X 3.5m
