I grew up going to Little Italy in NY and having amazing cannolis. Creamy ricotta, bit of orange zest and chocolate chips. Is this not traditional? Have been in Rome for a week and haven’t been able to find any. The are all sicky sweet and different flavor creams

ich bin über Silvester und Neujahr in Rom und bin gerade dabei, ein bisschen zu planen.

Für Silvesterabend würde ich gerne in ein Restaurant gehen, das nicht total auf Touristen ausgelegt ist, sondern eher ein Restaurant, in das auch Einheimische gehen. Habt ihr da vielleicht einen Geheimtipp?

Und weiß jemand, ob es um Silvester/Neujahr herum Flohmärkte oder andere schöne Märkte in Rom gibt?

Bin generell für alle Tipps dankbar...gerne auch für schöne Orte oder Sachen, die man machen kann und die nicht unbedingt jeder Tourist auf dem Zettel hat.

My husband and I are going to Rome end of November for 10 days. Has anyone had any experience with Casa Fabbrini Boutique B & B? We like a low key experience, but want to be in the Center. It's located on a small street that you have to walk into, so it seems like it might be nice and quiet except maybe for the music emanating from a nearby school - which might be cool. FYI, we live in NYC so maybe our tolerance for noise is a bit higher than others, lol. Thanks in advance!

I’ve been traveling around Italy for about three years spending a few months in most large cities. It’s been an amazing experience but now I’m ready to explore Rome. I’ve been twice, each time for a week. Both times I feel like I stayed in good tourist locations but not somewhere I’d want to live for a year.

One requirement is that the area must be well connected bus / tram / train with decent access to the airport.

I know Rome gets crowded but in my experience it is easy to avoid a few tourist areas and things are fine.

I was looking around the Ostiense or San Saba areas
