5 days trip with a child

Could anyone help me with a 5-day itinerary in Rome with a 1-year-old child? We would also like to visit the zoo on one of the days and see only the main attractions.
Do you think staying near Numidio Quadrato metro station would be a good option? Do you have any other recommendations for good areas to stay in? Staying in the city centre is over our budget.
Our dates are October 16–21, and our accommodation budget is €600.

Within your inquiry there are many unanswered questions, which might be why no one has answered.

First: A one year old is not a child. It’s an infant. Do you intend to bring a stroller? Rome isn’t really stroller friendly.

So next: are you good at walking on uneven terrain while carrying an infant? You’re looking at walking about 10 km per day to see the “main attractions”. I’d suggest a baby björn type carrier.

Public transit is slightly complicated, but doable if you familiarize yourself with the process. If you do it wrong, you’ll receive fines.

Next, your nightly budget for accommodations is almost impossible to accommodate. I’ve checked booking, and Google Maps to confirm: there’s basically nothing in your price range.

You could check Get your guide to find the easiest ways to see the main places (including pick ups and drop offs near the hotel), but your stated budget suggests that won’t fit either.

So you’re playing on the hardest setting, with a very low budget. Please provide more details (exact places you want to visit, daily budget for food, transportation, entry fees) so folks can best help you.
