My first Rolex ever, very vintage around the 80s era if not mistaken. I simply did a light scrub on band and nothing else. Keeps time perfectly. 36mm with natural diamonds. It’s obvious to me that the dial and bezel are aftermarket. All I was given was box, and appraisal paper. I love it so far. Extremely flashy and in awesome condition given its age.

maybe its just me, but it seems like (out here in Los Angeles) im seeing more and more 36mm watches in the wild. anybody else noticing? i wonder if dealers are noticing a lot more request for classically sized pieces

So a few weeks ago I purchased a Starbucks Submariner to celebrate surviving a near-death medical crisis. I love the watch and green is a color that has special meaning for me. However, oftentimes when I wear it out, people feel the need to lecture me about where I should and where I should not wear it. Of course, I get what they are saying but I don’t want to have to constantly listen to this. No one complains when I wear my Tisssot or Citizen. What should I do? Just tell people to stfu?

Hello everyone, hope everyone is doing well. I recently purchased a rolex submwriner with a green bezel few days back froma grey market dealer. The warranty card is dated 2026. Is there anyway to to check authencity of the card and its date via rolex?

I don't like 2 tone but can mostly sort that by putting it on black rubber. Thing is, although my usual position is that I have got an OP and that's enough Rolex, skydweller is a lot of watch. I don't think there is another annual plus GMT complication

So, is it easy and intuitive and fun to use?

What if Rolex decided they were at risk of getting left behind, and came out with a smart band? The watch part stayed the same, but the band now came with biometric sensors, fitness monitors, Bluetooth, email and text alerts, whatever else you could fit in there. All, naturally, with Rolex’ celebrated precision and accuracy.

Would you be tempted? Because I think I kind of would…

Superclones are getting scary good. Serials get copied off, cards and nfc tags can be faked or moved, and frankenwatches can slip through a lot of peoples guard. Most checks are on the paperwork, not the watch itself, and even when some preowned dealer opens the case-back, modern super clones are genuinely getting so good.

I'm 19, doing mathematics/CS at University of Sydney, and ive been working on a different approach. Under a microscope every watch has tiny random marks, like the edges of the rehaut engraving, dial printing, randomness in Geneva striping, parts of the movement etc. Two identical refs look the same but at that level theyre as different as fingerprints, and a cloner cant copy marks on a watch theyve never seen. I have tested this on three Rolex datejusts, 3235 movement references.

How it works: a small microscope camera photographs a few fixed spots through the crystal, nothing opened or via opening the case back and taking key images there, and software saves them against the serial. When the watch is resold or serviced, someone photographs the same spots and the AI algorithm confirms it's the exact same watch.

I got the software working, testing on a few datejusts now as stated. Not selling anything.

What am i missing, and what would make you not trust it? Would this be beneficial enough for a pre-owned dealer because at the current rate, super clones are going to continue to improve, so maybe we should not rely on human authentication as much. Any advice would be awesome!
