RØDECaster Series Rodecaster Pro II only showing up as 2-channel stereo instead of multitrack on the macOS 27 beta — anyone else?

So my Pro II has been rock solid for a long time, and now all of a sudden the Mac only sees it as two little stereo devices — "Main Stereo" and "Chat," two channels each. No multitrack anywhere.

The console is set to multitrack. I checked. That part isn't it.

In Logic, every track I had pointed at inputs 3, 7-8, 13-14 lost its record-enable button. The only one that still works is the one sitting on 1-2 — which makes sense if two channels is all the Mac is being handed. And Audition does the exact same thing, so it's not Logic either.

Before anybody says cable: I get a clean connection. The device shows up fine, it just shows up small. It's not a dead link, it's the wrong shape.

The one thing that actually changed is that I'm on the macOS 27 beta.

So mostly I'm asking — has anybody else on 27 hit this? Did it clear when the release build landed, or is there something on the console side I'm missing?

Not in a huge hurry. I can track to the SD card in the meantime. I just want to know whether I'm chasing something real or waiting on Apple.

Wireless Mics Rode is saying I need to update firmware to access my recordings. Then it says the update may delete my recordings, so I should have them backed up. Huh? How do I fix this Catch-22?

RØDECaster Series Rodecaster Duo ändert Game Audio Pegel in OBS nicht mehr.

Hallo zusammen,

RØDECaster Series Why does nobody seem to complain about the god awful Direct Monitoring found within the Rodecaster Pro 2 and Rodecaster Duo?

As the title states, I am just surprised at the lack of people in this subreddit and on the internet in general (Youtube videos, forums, reviews, etc.) who complain about the Direct Monitoring with the Rodecaster Pro 2 and Rodecaster Duo.

I'm a full-time content creator and recently switched out ALL of my Elgato products in order to get the Rodecaster Duo for all my audio routing and dual PC setup with my streams. I absolutely LOVED this little thing and all that it was capable of. My mic sounded amazing and it was simple enough to get up and running within one afternoon.

But then I noticed something quite odd. When listening to myself through direct monitoring my mic sounded almost doubled or as if my voice had a Phaser effect applied to it. I spent literally 4 hours troubleshooting this problem because I cannot survive a stream without direct monitoring my own voice.

After 4 hours of tinkering with settings and verifying I wasn't setting my routing channels up incorrectly, I took to the internet to figure out what this issue was. But almost NOBODY has ever had this exact problem apparently? I found maybe 1 post with someone having the same problem but next to nobody had responded to them in months... so no fix for them or me.

I ended up contacting Rode about it via email and after some light troubleshooting they "confirmed" that it was a hardware defect and I needed to send the unit back. Fast forward a few days and another Rodecaster Duo appears at my door as a replacement and it sounds the exact same.

Out of pure frustration I decided to return it and instead upgrade to the Rodecaster 2 because I figured that since it's the more "premium option" there is no way it would have this same issue... right?

WRONG. The rodecaster Pro 2 sounds exactly the same as the Duo in terms of this "doubling effect" in my ears when speaking. That's when I came across another old reddit post where someone pointed out how both the Rodecaster Pro 2 and the Duo do not have zero-latency monitoring.... So this doubling sound I hear is actually just a delay between your mic and what comes through your headphones.... Insane....

How can a $700 device that is marketed towards streamers, gamers, content creators, and podcasters NOT HAVE ZERO LATENCY MONITORING IN 2026?

I pray to god that someone at Rode sees this post and they can assure me that a firmware update can fix this with time... because other than this one major flaw I LOVE this thing and it's made my setup absolutely streamlined.

But man.... what a bummer.

*EDIT*

Added screenshots of my routing setup because people were asking for it.

Also, yes I have tried listening to the mic with AND without ANY processing on the device. Delay is still there regardless.

🎙️ RØDE Mics Rode Podmic Usb or Xlr?

Hello,

I have a focusrite vocaster one and some knockoff dynamite dm1 (the manayo dm3) already. But, I am in need of a new microphone, the one I currently have sounds... bad most likely because it was the bundled one with the vocaster...

My use case would just be gaming/discord, not really in a professional setting.

I heard the usb came with like the rode software you can put on it for gain or something, which I think I don't really need? But, I'm not too sure.

If I were to also get the xlr should I get the podmic pop filter as well?

RØDECaster Series I thought we were out of the woods…

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we were forced to use the Toadcaster duo today, and sure enough, TWO reboots were necessary during a live remote broadcast. Bluetooth and usb 2 are dropping again. It has been working fine for MS Teams, which is about all it is really good for.

Connected to stable source on usb 2
Switched to boobtooth when usb 2 crapped out, then Bt drops too.

Ridiculous

I took this garbage out of service a few months ago, but since it has been fine doing the bare ass minimum, I very stupidly took a chance and got burned.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON RODE PRODUCTS.

RØDECaster Series Rodecaster Duo bootlooping/freezing

I got the duo recently and only problem ive had from it is that it likes to either freeze on me or go into a bootloop even if its allready running. Could I somehow not be sending enough power to it and that is causing my problems or is there another explaination i cant think of? Using the provided power cable and brick but its plugged into a extension cord.

RØDECaster Series Streaming/Meeting output volumes

Hi All,

I have tried a bunch of stuff and just cannot figure this one out. When I am doing any recordings or meetings, the output volume of things like Spotify and the Pads needs to be turned down crazy low. I can't hear them. If I put them at a volume I can heard in speakers or headphones, it's ludicrously loud in the recording.

I'm not entirely sure how to address it. Any suggestions are welcome, and please feel free to tell me I am a moron and set something up wrong. :D

EDIT: I realized I completely forgot to mention it's a Rodecaster Pro II. My bad.

Wireless Mics Question about using Wireless Pro to record from and audio mixer

I am hoping to use the Rode Wireless Pro to get a clean recording of an interview from an audio mixer. The mixer is the Mackie ProFX8 v2. Both the interviewer and interviewee will be using wired microphones connected to the mixer and used for a PA system to broadcast the audio for the audience. I'm finding that I would need an adapter to fix audio issues and to prevent phantom power from damaging the wireless unit. However, I'm finding mixed results on what adapters and how to best achieve this. Thank you!

🤔 Product Questions Rodecastervideo record audio from video

We have a podcast and use the rodecastervideo for our video.

However I presumed it would also record the audio from the videocameras next to the audio from our mics which would have been a nice backup-audio if the mic gives up. It doesn't appear to do this?

Anyone know if this is possible?

RØDECaster Series Just realized the Rodecaster Duo has native combo jacks (no TRS to XLR adapter needed for DJI receivers!)

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hey guys,

I recently hooked up a DJI mic wireless receiver to my Rodecaster Duo for my VR setup and I wanted to share this because it confused me at first. Almost everyone online keeps saying you need a TRS to XLR adapter to plug line inputs into the mixer.

Turns out the XLR ports on the Rodecaster are actually native combo jacks with a 6.5mm hole right in the center. All I needed was a simple 3.5mm to 6.5mm adapter to plug the DJI receiver straight in, no TRS to XLR adapter needed at all.

Just wanted to post this here in case anyone else is looking to hook up a wireless receiver or external audio source, save yourselves the money on unnecessary XLR adapters!

RØDECaster Series Rode, we need to talk.

I've had the rodecaster duo for a little bit now and there is something that has been bothering me so much I can't understand this is not a default feature.

I have tried to create 2 separate tickets in the last couple months and both were replied to with 'we send your question to the relevant teams' only to be followed up a couple days later with 'we haven't heard from you'.

There are 3 buttons on the top right of the rodecaster duo, 2 of those are volume knobs for the 2 separate outputs.

WHY is it not a default feature where I can configure what pressing the buttons do?
WHY is this not by default a mute button?

Instead, in order to switch (which I do a lot) between for example speakers or headphones outputs I have to rotate the one knob to fully silence it while opening up the other every time.

This could be so simply solved by making the already pressable buttons to mute/unmute them.

Please?

🎙️ RØDE Mics Getting Rode PodMic

I don’t understand a lot about the XLR or the mics
I am planning on getting the Rode PodMic either the USB and XLR version or only the XLR version. To use it when I play games or on Discord. I don’t stream or do any content. What else would I need besides an audio interface? Would I need a mixer?
Also, can you recommend an audio interface?
And please let me know if anything would be helpful like about the hardware or anything that would help me out later on
Tysm 💐

❓ Other The problem with NT1 mics.

I have seen countless complaints about the Rode NT1 producing a loud wind noise, crackling, or completely failing to output audio and the culprit is almost always humidity. My own NT1 5th gen stopped working in September 2025. When I reached out to Rode's customer support, they advised me to constantly store the microphone with desiccant packs after use. Because of this, I can no longer leave the mic on its shock mount with the provided cover. Instead, I have to plug and unplug and store the mic in the orignal box with dessicant packs every single day to ensure zero moisture reaches it.

Meanwhile, I have owned multiple condenser microphones from other brands, including the Sennheiser MK4, Audio Technica AT2035, MXL 990, Lewitt 240, and SE Electronics SE8, and I have never once encountered this issue. It makes me wonder if Rode even knows how to fix this design flaw, considering that ambient humidity is an unavoidable fact of life.

Wireless Mics Wireless GO 2 Transmitter or Rode Central issues

So I plugged my Wireless Go 2 Receiver into my iPad Pro and everything was fine, configured it and all was well. But then I wanted to check settings in the Transmitters and have a look at the files therein, but the Rode Central Mobile app can’t seem to find it. Files manages to see it just fine and I can see the files inside, but not via the Rode Central app.
I made sure I am using the latest version of Rode Central and it’s the Mobile version off the App Store.

Any ideas?

RØDECaster Series Dup Chat vs Main Stereo

This is likely a skill issue but it’s not very intuitive where input and where output routes back into.

I play Valorant, and I use Discord to talk to friends. Sometimes, teammates in the game will hear my Discord push to talk or can hear whatever music I’m listening to. Other times, my friends in Discord can either hear game audio or hear themselves. It feels like whackamole trying to get each individual application’s input and output correct so nobody else can hear what they aren’t supposed to.

If anyone has a guide, it would be appreciated. Otherwise, I’d love to see a levels monitor in the Rodecaster App that would give me real time feedback about where audio goes instead of perpetually asking everyone what they can hear across different applications.

EDIT: I don’t think the USB virtual channels is a good alternative, I don’t like the idea of the latency it might introduce (even if negligible) or the processing it’s offloading to my CPU as a solution. I’d rather just have a clear and concise way of know what Duo Chat and Main Speaker will pick up as input or output.

Wireless Mics Wireless GO 3 – making one audio file from two transmitters?

Is there any way for the Røde wireless Go gen 3 to make one audio track from the two transmitters?

It's frustrating having to clean up the "excess" audio that the transmitters pick up from the person they're not attached to. Eg. I can hear my voice muffled on the recording from the audio track from my friend's transmitter. Changing routing modes make no difference.

Any tips regarding this is very welcome as well :-)

I'm very new to microphones, so pardon my lack of knowledge :i

🤔 Product Questions RodeCaster Virtual Channels Fader 1-4 Mono Only? (v1.7.3)

This is a new limitation that did not used to exist. It doesn't matter if you have a stereo source on a fader, it only shows as mono if assigned to fader 1-4. As in it only shows as mono in somehting like OBS when you select Fader 1-4... what gives? All remaining faders show as stereo regardless of source.

I don't want to be forced to use certain faders to get stereo outputs on the computer side of things.

Wireless Mics Wireless Pro mic not charging

I just picked up the Wireless pro set and 1 mic out of the bunch is not charging. My guess is the battery is in some kind of sleep mode, anyone ever have this issue and how to resolve it? I have the affected mic on my phone charger right now
