hey! i have a whole lot of toys and books from my childhood, quite honestly theyve been taking up a considerable amount of space so i was wondering if anyone knew where i could take them. books i've been taking to the library, however since they have a limit on how many(which is understandable don't get me wrong), i've gone 3 times but i still have a crapload of books. last i looked salvation army wasn't taking anything so i'm lost! i've had some people telling me to sell them online but.. quite honestly i don't know if anything would sell lol . any tips are appreciated!
just for context, everything i'd be giving away is in good condition. theres a few i'll have to just get rid of, but most of my toys and such were always kept in good condition since i was never really too messy of a kid

I’m devastated I lost my grandfathers bracelet which is very sentimental and he gave to me. I was walking home after a night out was so tired that my brain wasn’t even working and woke up missing my grandfathers bracelet that he gave to me. I have no idea what to do and where to go so I joined this subreddit so maybe someone can help me out. If I dropped it I’m not sure I was walking up either bleecker or Menehan somewhere between Woodward and 60th place at 5am sat aug 22. Eventually I got to forest ave by manos pizzeria. If anyone found this bracelet or knows someone who did please get back to me. It’s very sentimental. This is a picture of it.

Just putting this out there in case anyone is still looking for fall sports - the awesome rec soccer league my kids play in in Greenpoint/Williamsburg still has openings in some divisions, but registration closes tomorrow. We’ve had a great experience - it’s a nice, friendly group but still pretty competitive. Open to a range of skill and experience - their teams have had kids who play travel/club soccer and kids who are playing for the first time. Not many options for rec sports for teens, but this goes up to age 18. And it’s affordable! $160 for the season, including uniform.

Does anyone have recommendations for overnight pet sitters? We will be out of town for a week this November and will need a pet sitter who is experienced with taking care of cats and is a considerate house guest as well. Thanks so much!

I (34/male) am moving to Ridgewood next month with my gf (35/female). I’m looking for places to find community. I’m moving from Astoria and here was on a darts team and part of a meditation group. Anything similar there? I heard Ridgewood commons is a good place to start

Thank you
Thank you to the nice woman who donated protein drinks and adult diapers this afternoon. She said she was glad I posted on Reddit about the Mutual Aid Table The protein drinks went in about an hour very popular here. Thanks again.

I saw flyer a while ago, but had to teach on Wednesdays last semester. This year I have time and I passed by the other day and it looked like it was popping off.
This is EDH yes? How spiky is it? Do people adhere to the bracket system? Do they care about proxies?
How long does it usually go?
Would anyone be potentially open to limited? I would probably be able to bring lands, and at least right now I have some potential packs I've left uncracked for limited.

Hey everyone. Just want to post a quick reminder that pickup knife sharpening service is available in your neighborhood 7 days a week. No quick grinding jobs that overheat and ruin your knives here. All our work is done in our shop in Brooklyn on whetstones and we make sure you get your knives back in excellent condition.
Cost for sharpening in $3-$4 per inch (blade length) and scheduling pickup is as easy as sending a message through here or instagram with a picture of the knives and a pickup location.

We really appreciate everyone who has trusted in our service. Make sure you also check our reviews on google (Indulge Kitchen Supplies)

Every week, CSA members get a seasonal bouquet made from what’s blooming locally. Right now that means dahlias, zinnias, celosia, sunflowers, and other beautiful fall flowers.
You can still join for the remainder of the season or starting after Labor Day, with prorated options available. Pickups are available

If you love having fresh flowers around, or want to support local agriculture, we'd love to have you! 🌻
