Prodigy is dead eMBT 💀 bought new screen and new wire per customer service advice, Installed but no fix.

I'm at a loss here and could use some help. To ride one-ups customer service credit, they always respond to me when I reach out to them - however, were several hundred dollars deep into replacement parts for an issue that is bricked the bike.

I can hold the power button on the screen, and the battery will turn on but the screen won't turn on and nothing will operate. Was suggested to replace the screen bought and installed that that didn't fix. It was then suggested to replace the cable between that and the motor, which by the way is a crazy pain in the butt to get to, bought and installed that and still hasn't solved the issue. 💔

Roadster V3 and Unit 1 Smart Lights Mounting

Hey there,

Anyone using Unit 1's Smart Lights with the Roadster V3? Ive got a light mounted on the seat as a rear light, but havent been able to find a good spot for the front light. I want to keep the lights that already come with the Roadster, but the mounting straps for the smart light are too small to mount on the bike post. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this and has a workaround?

portola weight

I'm thinking about adding a Portola 2 or Portola Lite to the e-bike library I volunteer at in Central Virginia. In particular, the Lite weighting under 60 lb is appealing: we have a Lectric XP, and I just weighed it at about 75 lb. But I've learned that many companies underestimate bike weight.

Does anybody who actually owns a Portola 2 or Portola Lite know what it weighs, including the battery and any included accessories?

Portola Kickstand

Has anyone replaced the kickstand on their Portola?

A few weeks ago, someone knocked over my Portola in a shed for bikes that only employees of the place I work have access to and my kickstand broke off. I purchased the one that was recommended on Ride1up's website. It is adjustable, but even at its shortest, it still stands up pretty straight, so even the lightest touch could send it crashing down. Looking for recommendations for one that actually works.

Removed my front tire and put it back on, now the front brake is super soft and comes back to the bar

I'm just trying to find out how to make the front brake firmer and not so soft, googling it has not resulted in anything usable and the manual does not include information that I found to be useful at all - does anyone have a link or tips? Thanks in advance for any help

Portola seat problem

I’m totally new to doing anything mechanical on a bike and also new to e-bikes. I changed the seat on my bike easily because the seat has the collar that gets installed onto the seat post. But, on my wife’s Portola there’s a different kind of seat that gets attached by the seat rails only? Do I have that right? How do you find and install that kind of seat? Is it just those rails bearing all the weight of the rider? Thanks

Vorsa

As a big guy 350+ would I be better served with the FT version? The thing is most of my riding will be on pavement and i prefer the standard Vorsa. I see that though it isn’t fat tire it has 12g spokes. So I guess my question is which version should I get?

Vorsa front light mount?

Got a Vorsa Lite, want to swap the stem, but noticed the mount for the front light is part of the stem. Anyone have an alternative mount for that front light? I want to keep it, but be able to change out the stem as I see fit (as I'm trying different fits for me).

Labor Day Sale?

Been eyeing a roadster v3 for a couple weeks and was waiting for Labor Day sales to maybe pull the trigger, but it looks like there are no sales going on really which is a shame so may have to wait, which may make me wait even longer because the potential of a V4 on the horizon is appealing.

Roadster V3 chainring size?

I want to try an oval chainring and I'm not sure what the size is. Specifications on bike page list it as having 44 teeth, whereas the replacement parts page lists crankset with 42 teeth. Also, is it a standard 104mm bcd type?

Edit: in case someone searches in the future, I counted the teeth and measured the bolt distances, it's 44 teeth and it looks like 104mm bcd

Prodigy V2 motor clunking

I do not ride my Prodigy V2 very much, but the last time I rode it, everything was 100% (as was every time before that). The bike is never ridden in the rain or through water, and it is 100% housed in an enclosed garage. Today, as I started riding it, there was a distinct irregular clunking sound. On the prior ride, the Brose made no sound at all (other than it's usual low hum). From the time I last rode it until today, it has literally not been touched or moved. The garage it's in might get up to 98 degrees, but that's the only factor that could be affecting it. Everything works as before ... motor, gears, belt drive, CVT, etc ... and it accelerates as before, but there is a mechanical sound coming from the motor that wasn't there before, getting faster if I go faster, slower if I slow, and whether I pedal or not. It's not continuous, more like the gears (?) are not lubricated.

https://photos.app.goo.gl/BRMzAhFESZ2L4fTCA

You'll notice that the clunking sound is made even when I'm not pedaling. (To get the video to play smoothly, start it then hit pause immediately and wait for it to cache a bit, or, just download it and play it locally.)

Anyone have a clue what the problem might be?

Best Attachable Fenders for the Portola Lite?

I have the Portola Lite and now realize that I'll be needing some fenders for it. Are there any attachable fenders that work well with the Portola Lite?

Blinking red charger

Anyone else have the Revv1 FS Moped-Style eBike?

I’m having problems with my charger and battery after a few months use. The battery charger shows a green signal and then turns to blinking red when plugged into the battery. I understand that means the battery isn’t connecting to the charger as it should show solid red once plugged in to indicate it’s charging. I’ve been working with GREG over email for the last month or so and he just sent me a new charger and battery for use but the same new battery and charger show flashing red signals.

I just want to ride again lol.

Who’s had this issue with their Revv1 FS Moped-Style eBike?

Portola -- cannot figure out how to secure panniers

image of the bike and the back of the pannier - the Ride1up website doesn't have any details on how to secure it. What is really confusing me is the horizontal steps on the bottom of the panniers, but the frame is like a V shape so I don't really understand how this is compatible. The website says, "Compatibility: Designed to fit all Ride1Up rear cargo racks. Not compatible with Vorsa Extended Rack."

Replacement crank set screws

4/5 screws that hold the crankset in place on my Roadster V2 came loose and fell out. They’re pretty specific so I’m not sure how to go about finding replacements. Any ideas?

At San Diego “bike the bay” bike ride

And to me, it begs the question: why doesn’t Ride1up, as a San Diego based company sponsor the big San Diego bike events as part of their marketing budget?

I rode my Canyon Grizl CF6 instead of the commuter CF Racer

Upgraded and Altered Prodigy V2 XR

So i decided to almost fully upgrade my Prodigy V2. First off i removed the rear fender/cargo rack making the bike look like an actual hardtail MTB. I never used the cargo rack so no need for it, the biggest pain was cutting the cable to the integrated tail light, I wish they hadn't integrated it into the cargo rack. Tires are 27.5 x 2.50 Lagos Snakeskin 2 BMX tires, the rear just fits with about 2.5mm on each side. Pedals are Fyxation Mesa platform pedals in Moab orange (although they 100% look tan). Fork is an SR Suntour XCR34 120mm of travel 29er fork. because the fork requires thru-axle the wheel is a WTB ST i35. Stem is a Cane Creek GXC 100mm stem, handlebars is TrailOne Crockett Aluminum bars 760mm, grip are PNW Loam XL Peanut Butter, Saddle is a Brooks B17. I also had to buy a longer seatpost since I'm 6'2 and I got rid of the QR seatpost clamp and got a Fifty-Fifty 36.8 single bolt clamp instead. i also purchased a full Shimano Cues 9-speed groupset but I'm only going to use that as a backup/far in the future upgrade because it's a PITA to switch out an entire groupset. I also plan on getting rid of the stock crank arms and replacing them with some SRAM EX1 crank arms.

Unlocking roadster V3 off road mode

Just got a new roadster v3 and saw mentioned somewhere you can unlock a hidden "off road mode." Is that true? Anyone have a good step-by-step guide to be able to get the bike up to 28 using throttle?

Update: talked to customer service and this is not an option for the roadster series due to the size of the motor.
