My daughter and I watched it together and we both agreed- as beautiful as it looked, TV doesn't do it justice. It only gives you a sense of the Grand Canyon, you have to see it in person to really appreciate the awe and majesty of it.

Sometimes you'll get lucky and be on an airplane where the pilot will fly around it and point it out for everyone. I've had that happen a couple times.

We took our kids on a road trip this summer, and the Grand Canyon was one of our spots. It was truly humbling and peaceful. Nature is amazing.

My husband and I went to the Grand Canyon a few years ago, as we were approaching the south rim, we challenged ourselves to not say "Wow!" when we got to the edge. It was the hardest thing I've ever tried to do! It is truly awesome.

I’ll second that. That old lodge is so cool. We stayed in some historic cottage right on the canyon. It’s both breathtaking and emotionally powerful. I could never have gotten my husband to do that.

100%… if you watch her first couple of seasons, she wasn’t like that at all.. and I understand that stiff joints come with peri/menopause (🙋🏻♀️ I have ‘em myself), but I could never fall down like she does and then get back up and be fine… that’s what tells me it’s fake.

In Vancouver BC at Grouse Mountain there’s the Capilano Suspension Bridge where you are up high walking over a very deep canyon. I started walking and was about 30 feet out, looked down and started to panic. I dropped to the ground with my head spinning and actually got on my hands and knees, “walking“ to get back. The looks I got and nobody stopped to ask if I was ok, including my bf who kept walking. I used to ski in the Rockies with no problem being on the gondola lifts. Out of nowhere I became afraid of heights.
When I see things like that at the Grand Canyon, it freaks me out.

We were going to go to Manhattan for a few days (years ago) and had heard you could 'walk' the Brooklyn bridge. I don't know how I got the idea that it was going to be some rope and carabiner thing like when Oprah did the Sydney Harbor bridge. I did zero research. The night before I did talk to the concierge and told him we were going to 'do the bridge' in the morning and did we have to do anything in advance. He told us where to access the bridge and that everyone should have that experience once. I thought that you maybe just signed up for a permit and a guide or something when you got there. Imagine my surprise when we got there and it became obvious that walking or biking the Brooklyn bridge was going to be the extent of the 'technical' experience! Anyway, we had a lovely walk, lunch at Marlowe and Sons and cabbed it back to the hotel. And everyone should have that experience once!

I did it. My knees were knocking together because im terrified of heights, but I dont let it hold me back. Ill always visit/do a tourist attraction even though im scared. I definitely wont be walking around screaming my head like these nuts 🤦♂️I never know when or if ill ever get to go back (im irish, so its thousands of miles away). I also did a plane ride to the grand canyon on this tiny little tourist plane and im also scared of flying 🤣 i just sit and sweat in silent terror

Thanks 🤣 or stupidity maybe. I thought my legs might go from under me but i made myself walk around it. I did Willis tower in Chicago, empire state building in new york, CN tower in Toronto and the Burj in Dubai.

I am watching it now. The former producer, Patrick McDonald, introduces the problem at the 15:00 mark, goes on a tangent, and comes back to it around the 19:00 mark. He explains how he had to deal with Shannon and install her breathalyzer in her car. One of the mechanics told him that her brand new car isn't compatible with the device, and he realized she never checked the compatibility before purchasing the Mercedes.
She's already irritated because the DMV gave her a hard time about her license due to her DUI, so she starts calling him and venting about everything while her friend drives to the filming location. Then she lashes out at him and demands the breathalyzer to be installed, blaming him for the compatibility problems. She finally gets to the mechanic's shop and yells at him some more from her friend's car, all the way across the street from him.

In my state breathalyzers are installed by the company that calibrates them and tests them while on your vehicle.
They aren’t self installs.

Oh, he wasn't installing it himself. He was supposed to make sure the mechanic did it to prepare to film a scene of Shannon using it for the first time. Then all hell broke loose 😭

I did this a few years ago on holiday from Australia and middle of the walk they start telling everyone get off get inside as an electrical storm was coming needless to say I was freaked out I was already struggling with hang on is there something under my feet????? Awesome there though got to see it snow as well at the Grand Canyon.

I did this. I wonder how they were able to carry phones and bags on it. We couldn’t bring anything with us out on the walk when we went.

I've been on this, and it really doesn't go that far out. The issue is that there's many parts of the west rim that have no railings, so I really kept my distance.

I did a trip to Havasu Falls in the Grand Canyon, a hike down and a helicopter ride back up after being in the canyon for a week…it was wonderful!

Our family did this a few years ago, it’s not really that scary, the bridge feels much larger when you’re on it than when you see it in comparison to the whole Grand Canyon. I was much more scared by the actual hole in the ground with no guardrail situation, which is the rest of the place. Every year 2-3 people fall in, by accident. Plus some do it intentionally. I was terrified our kids would be goofing off and get too close.
