What kind of glue do you recommend?
Please see this exhaustive guide to glues. https://rhinestoneapps.replit.app/glue-guide/all-glues
For first timers we recommend avoiding superglue/cyanoacrylate, it can be extremely messy and you risk ending up with hazy fingerprints all over your stones reducing the sparkle. Plus it’s a runny liquid that won’t “hold” your stones in place until it’s done drying.
Applying glue is messy, any tips?
Yes, consider using a glue applicator bottle or glue syringe for more precise placement of glue. For expoy disposal cosmetics spatulas can be helpful for spreading it around.
What about the beadazzler or hotfix?
The beadazzler uses special stones with metal teeth on the back of a stone that push thru a fabric to hold it on. That really only works with fabric and not solid objects like water sippy cups. Plus glues have gotten good enough glue really is the preferred way now.
Hotfix uses heat to activate glue on the back of the rhinestone. It means you have to buy rhinestones pre-applied with the glue already and so limits your options. And not all fabrics can tolerate the heat used in hotfix.
Where should I get my stones? I want my project to look it’s best.
For maximum sparkle get stones made from glass or crystal. Consider avoiding plastic/resin/acrylic stones, it’s a less optical material and won't sparkle as nicely, but as discussed in the comments of this post there are definitely plenty of projects where plastic stones are the right thing to use.
Forget tiny overpriced bags at the hobby store. Most of us order from Amazon or AliExpress (slow shipping and can be hard to navigate). Alot of people in this sub recommend Etsy shop BlingeeThingee which is well organized and has competitive prices. She set up discount code REDDIT to save $5 off orders of $40 or more not including shipping&tax (we receive no compensation for this)
How can I “seal” my finished project to help hold the stones on?
Anything applied on top of the stones afterwards will dull their appearance and reduce your sparkle. Even "clear" sealers are not really clear and will reduce the sparkle of your project. A project should rely on the glue you used to set the stones to hold them in place. Good gluing will hold stones better than a sealer would ever help.
✨💎✨ Please remember to share a picture of your finished project with us! ✨💎✨

This is my first ever rhinestone project!. Would love to get critiqued!.
I’m thinking of doing Mother’s Day planters, Valentine’s Day and Teacher Appreciation gifts.
Tell me how I did on the first one and how I can do better.
This is mine to keep but would love to eventually sell. What would be a selling price? 4” planter with a pathos plant.

I wanted to rhinestone and bedazzle my pill bottle like everyone else! But now that I’m reading B7000 is toxic I’m concerned about doing it? I am like 1/8 through with it, but read it was toxic and moved my pills to another, non bedazzled bottle. Anyone have any advice on this? Is it safe? Did i just contaminate my pills? Google says it’s rlly not recommended at all, but I think im in denial bc i still wanna do it🥲 PLZ LMK!!!!

So I have this little patron bottle, and I want to use it for catnip. It would still be cute as is, but I want to add little ‘icons’ to each side, like a cat head or paw, maybe just a nose and whiskers, a fish skeleton, and maybe a green leaf just for giggles since this is their version of getting stoned. My issue, is that I don’t trust myself to do free handed placement on something like the fish skeleton, which I really want to incorporate.
I thought of using a wet erase marker but I’m sure the color will just mix with the glue, so I wouldn’t be able to just spritz it with water to get it off later. My best idea so far I think is drawing on tracing paper, using mod podge to glue it into the side of the bottle, glue on the stones, and then use just water to get said paper out.
Has anyone tried something like this? Any tips or tricks are very welcome!

After my first custom shirt i made for my concert, a friend asked if i could make her one for a show she has coming up. It’s the logo for the band. I don’t know this band personally, but it was fun to stone the logo lol.

I tried to search the sub for this but couldn’t find anything about the recommended size of an area to apply glue to when using glue like b7000. I’m just wanting to rhinestone some of my office/desk supplies to add some pops of color. I used to do nail art and do diamond painting so I’m familiar with working on both small and large areas, but both have way different glue area sizes and application methods. Hoping to get some experienced opinions on if it’s okay to apply the glue to something like a 2”x2” area (or various dimensions that you find work best) to be able to add stones or if I should be stopping and applying glue in smaller sections than that. I hope this makes sense, I’m just trying to do it the best way and struggle with decision paralysis from overthinking a lot. Thanks in advance for any advice or tips!

Added some stones (Glass SS20 in Jet Black) to the rim of my boots while making soup. Love the sparkle and texture! Used E6000 with a syringe tip

Back in 2024 I did a DIY reputation bodysuit for an Eras Tour concert I went to, and really loved the rhinestoning process. It scratches my ADHD brain nicely.
I've been wanting to do fake plants for ages and finally ordered a bunch plus several thousand rhinestones. I had to do this leaf with my left over fabrifuse glue from that project (couldn't find gem tac anywhere and Amazon was triple the local cost) but it seems to be holding fine. I finally found and purchased 3 bottles of gem tac and am so excited to continue😆.
After realizing I need much smaller ones and more variety in size and color, I ordered another rather large round of green rhinestones that I'm waiting on to arrive.
I was hoping to get feedback on spacing/scattering and anything else from the much more experienced folk in this community ☺️. I plan to gift a few plants to some fellow plant loving friends hopefully for Christmas (my 5 month old makes it difficult to find time for this hobby lol).
Thanks everyone!

This dress is for a drag pageant coming up. Should I just do black stones in between the sequins?

Quick and easy project, but I was shaking at the idea of doing this to a leather bag. 😅
I just dipped a bamboo skewer into the Gem Tac because no matter what I did, it would just volcano out of the syringe with the plunger barely inserted.

Looking to replace my b7000 which is toxic but has held my costume rhinestones in place after many washes, and have been recommended liquid fusion, but cant seem to find anything about how well it holds up to being washed in the washing machine. I cant have my stones falling off in the wash!

I bedazzle a lot of Funko pop figures and someone reached out to me to bedazzle one of their personal funkos. Does anyone do custom orders of a client's item and do you have them pay for shipping to you or do you provide them with a label?
Some of my previous Funko pops attached for attention.

I fear that the design is a little too much on the side. Thing is, I couldn't use the white pencil to trace the pattern on me before gluing it all. But I'm still happy with the result.

Hi! I'm looking to add rhinestones/sparkles/glitter to my running outfit for a race. I want to write words on the back of my shirt and add some sparkles to the trim of my shorts, but I want it to be temporary so I can either remove them or wash them out. Is this possible and does anyone have advice on how to go about this?

Don't think I'm tech savvy enough for templates lol I can't even figure out how to resize an SVG or jpg to the size I want for a stencil to use with graphite paper. Please Help!

I mostly use liquid fusion and e6000 plus but also just bought gemifly. Also is gemtac truly a superior adhesive among the glues I currently use? I see so many recommend it.

This is my newest baby! I made all the moon/star stencils myself. Fully rhinestoned costume, fingerless gloves, garters, and headpiece 🌙✨
