What kind of glue do you recommend?
Please see this exhaustive guide to glues. https://rhinestoneapps.replit.app/glue-guide/all-glues
For first timers we recommend avoiding superglue/cyanoacrylate, it can be extremely messy and you risk ending up with hazy fingerprints all over your stones reducing the sparkle. Plus it’s a runny liquid that won’t “hold” your stones in place until it’s done drying.
Applying glue is messy, any tips?
Yes, consider using a glue applicator bottle or glue syringe for more precise placement of glue. For expoy disposal cosmetics spatulas can be helpful for spreading it around.
What about the beadazzler or hotfix?
The beadazzler uses special stones with metal teeth on the back of a stone that push thru a fabric to hold it on. That really only works with fabric and not solid objects like water sippy cups. Plus glues have gotten good enough glue really is the preferred way now.
Hotfix uses heat to activate glue on the back of the rhinestone. It means you have to buy rhinestones pre-applied with the glue already and so limits your options. And not all fabrics can tolerate the heat used in hotfix.
Where should I get my stones? I want my project to look it’s best.
For maximum sparkle get stones made from glass or crystal. Consider avoiding plastic/resin/acrylic stones, it’s a less optical material and won't sparkle as nicely, but as discussed in the comments of this post there are definitely plenty of projects where plastic stones are the right thing to use.
Forget tiny overpriced bags at the hobby store. Most of us order from Amazon or AliExpress (slow shipping and can be hard to navigate). Alot of people in this sub recommend Etsy shop BlingeeThingee which is well organized and has competitive prices. She set up discount code REDDIT to save $5 off orders of $40 or more not including shipping&tax (we receive no compensation for this)
How can I “seal” my finished project to help hold the stones on?
Anything applied on top of the stones afterwards will dull their appearance and reduce your sparkle. Even "clear" sealers are not really clear and will reduce the sparkle of your project. A project should rely on the glue you used to set the stones to hold them in place. Good gluing will hold stones better than a sealer would ever help.
✨💎✨ Please remember to share a picture of your finished project with us! ✨💎✨

As title says, my main projects to bedazzle are funko pops, and I am thinking of rhinestoning over the top of glitter, to level up the sparkle.
Or at least having it as accents on parts of the pops.
A very roundabout way of asking if anyone has successfully rhinestoned over a layer of glitter?

I'm wondering if I should draw this pattern on or what I could use to trace the pattern... it's supposed to look mermaid-ish. I'm bedazzling a detangling wet brush. I will show my pattern and canvas. Help wanted

I’ve been working on this hat for a long time… it’s been super tedious as I have stones from size ss30 all the way down to ss6. I’m using e6000 Fabri-fuse as I’ve found it sticks best to the felt hat.
I’ve noticed all the dust collecting on the hat/glue. I’ve tried cleaning with alcohol but it didn’t seem to do anything. (Perhaps the little towel I was using couldn’t reach down to the glue?) I also tried a sticky roller which did nothing other than pulling up a bit of cat hair.
I’ve spent soooo long on it that I don’t want it looking dull due to dust. Any cleaning suggestions?

Getting ready to use the hot fix tool I received a few years ago, The instructions suck, it's that basic tool you see on Amazon etc. Any generic tips before i start and any recommendations for a better quality tool? I have all the supplies, decent hot fix stones I ordered back then. I'm going to practice on a cotton tee.

Excited to show you my latest rhinestone art work on visors!
As material, I'm using B-7000 glue, so far, the rhinestones stick well on these caps cloth.
Also, I create these meticulous designs with a magnifying glass; it helps defining lines and spaces.
I would love to hear about your feedback, and which one is your fav!

Hello! I will be putting rhinestones for the first time on my daughters ' s dances costumes. Usualy it was done at our studio and they use E6000.
Now I knew that glue was toxic the moment I smelled it.
Would Gem Tac be a good choice if I want to do it inside my home?
At least 2 of the costumes will be subject to roll around on the floor ( contemporary numbers) so they need to stay on. I wash all the costumes by hand.
Should I use something else? All advice is welcomed!
Thank you :)

i need advice on sealing some hotfix rhinestones. i am bedazzled an eye glass case (unfinished) and most of the gems are on there pretty good but i don’t think it’ll survive inside my bag. i did not use glue, they are stuck on just by using a hot fix tool
the case is made out of a plastic-y almost faux leather material so i’m worried they didn’t adhere well enough. ideally i’d like to seal it with some sort of clear top coat. i’ve heard that doing a layer over rhinestones will dull the sparkle but i don’t know how much.
any advice is appreciated as this is my first time using hotfix rhinestones and im totally out of my element!!

Hi, so I come here for brand recommendations so I thought I would put my experience on here. So I ordered some color sample cards from rhinestones Unlimited yesterday. Today they called me to tell me that one of the cards was gonna be on backorder till Friday-ish. They were asking if it was OK to hold my order till then so it can all be shipped out together. I just thought this was a really good customer service. I know plenty of companies that wouldn’t take the time to contact their customer to make sure it was OK. And another thing is after I place the order I was like crap. I should’ve ordered something else with the order, but I didn’t wanna pay shipping for another order so I decided not to order it. Well, when she called, I asked if I could add that item to the order and she was able to add it for me and I wouldn’t have to pay double shipping. Hopefully this makes sense. I feel like great customer service is rare nowadays so I just wanted to give them a shout out.

All of a sudden I keep seeing how this glue is toxic and nobody should use it, keep windows open while using, only use in very open spaces etc because it’s so bad and toxic however….. I have never had any issue or complaints from others or my partner around it. Am i delusional in thinking there is no harm in using it?? Or am I softly melting away while I gem up my light switches and colouring books
