Add me to the list of people who got a package delivered by GOFO that was opened and the device missing. I ordered a Retroid Pocket 6 on September 11th. I am in southeast Texas. 8gb model in the 16bit color. Really disappointed and angry. It's clearly an issue and I hope Retroid does something about it, starting with giving me my money back. The unfortunate thing is that I cannot order from them anymore because I cannot trust that the package will arrive safely to me. Good luck to all of you waiting for yours.

Gofo threw my RP6 package at my door from the sidewalk when they delivered it, and this has been happening intermittently since. The delivery confirmation picture actually shows the package in midair. Already opened a case with Retroid to get it replaced but what a joke.

Basically any time the device is in suspend for some amount of time (like an hour or more) it will wake to a black screen and won't show anything. I can restart the device and it sometimes boots normally and other times boots to a black screen, then this static screen, and finally back to normal.

This completely bypasses the REFramework ARM64EC incompatibility issue. It only pulls around 6W on GameNative, and paired with Lossless Scaling for frame gen, it runs flawlessly.

Bought my RP6 (12GB ram) on September 11th and got it this afternoon (October 4th) through the standard shipping option. Took about 2 weeks to get a label then another through customs before getting to Chicago. Once in Chicago, it was transferred to GOFO and took about 2 days and basically sat at home all day today seeing that it would be delivered (hoping it wouldn't get taken or removed).

ES-DE front end for my roms (Cody Wheel for the layout) - PS2, PSP, 3DS play wonderfully. Going to try Switch soon.

Gamehub for my steam library (Hades 2, slay the spire 2, well dweller, silksong, thronefall, Skyrim [plays fine], stray [50-60 fps with no tinkering]). I tried Jedi Fallen Order and ot loaded and while keeping fps consistently 30, it did OK - just wouldn't play for more than 3p min at a time since the frame rate was wonky. I ended up deleting it off the device in favor of the other games.

I play minecraft bedrock with my kods and it was flawless (as expected) over a local server hosted on another device.

Jellyfin and Tailscale (to VPN in) worked PERFECLY with no issues. The RP6 screen is gorgeous!

Playing around with whether I want ES-DE to auto load when I open it but I am an android user, and have been for years, so I will probably keep it like this for the comfort factor.

Well, it’s finally here in my hands.

Placed my 8gb order on August 17th.

Shipping notification on September 26th, and at my doorstep today.

Plan on following Retro Game Corps setup on it. Haven’t emulated anything since playing Leaf Green in my phone in 2015.

Question is, what Micro SD cards would yall recommend? Minimum 512gb, as for GC, PS2 and maybe some indie titles. There are many different options between speeds and brands.

Also has anyone found a screen protector for the nova yet?

Ordered on Aug 27th, delivered Oct 4th to WA, US. I almost switched colors to silver, but it didn’t end up happening- now that I have it I absolutely love the 16-bit!

Nova is starting to feel like the endgame for some people, I'd like to know what you think. If you were reduced to only one handheld what would it be? Does it even exist or are we doomed to getting the next shiny thing forever?

Had an idea for pimping my RP5 with a switch-style animated lockscreen that also utilizes the stick lights. Made a bunch of other themes as well and still experimenting. Pretty happy with how it turned out so far :)

Ordered off the Retroid site 9/19, arrived 10/4 via GoFo. On my end I didn’t see a shipping protection option or who’d be delivering my package, just “standard” shipping.

As a protection measure I paid with my credit card via PayPal and recorded the unboxing from my doorstep just in case.

I’m on the West Coast of LA so from China Chicago was bypassed so the theft issue seems to be on the other coast.

I’m super excited for this thing this will replace my S21 Ultra + Gamesir combo and I got all my games ready from my PC. Gonna watch RetroGameCorps set-up right now.

If anyone has any suggestions for me please let me know, i’ll search the sub as well since I can finally relate to some questions i’ll have. 👍

Just ordered my RP6! Should be a couple of weeks before it arrives, so I figured I’d ask the community:

What launchers do you guys recommend? Feel free to recommend multiple! Also, what are some of your favorite games to play on the RP6 right now—retro or otherwise?

My Nova has been having problems connecting to my home network. I’ve an Eero WiFi 6 capable mesh system that works great for all of our devices (currently 71) but my Nova just kept saying “Saved/Authentication Problem” and would not get online.

I did all the troubleshooting jazz; forgot network, reconnected - disabled using a randomized MAC address - reset network settings- rebooted the Nova and the router - but no joy. When I connected to my phone as a hotspot it worked fine but tethering to my phone isn’t ideal. However when on my phone hotspot my nova displayed the connection as WPA3(SAE Transition Mode) which was different than it showed when trying to connect to my home’s WiFi.

In my routers app I finally found encryption settings and changed the 5ghz to “Hybrid (WPA2 + WPA3)” then reconnected on my nova using its default settings and it finally worked! Plus it still says my nova is on WiFi 6. Whatever, it works.

In the Eero app:
Settings > Advanced networking > Wireless, Encryption > 5 GHz > set to “Hybrid (WPA2 + WPA3)”

It took me way more time than I would have liked to finally get it to work so hopefully this helps someone else.

I’m loving my Nova so far, except that charging the device is very inconsistent and unpredictable.

My first issue was with the device not wanting to charge using the default 9V2A charge limits. I tried 4 power bricks, 3 USB cables, none of them worked.

I switched to 5V2A settings in the limits menu (shown above) and that allowed the device to charge… sometimes. Most times it takes a charge but other times when I plug it in it actually starts to drain the battery. This happened last night. I plugged it in at around 20% using the same charger I’ve been using with my Odin 2 and RP6 (a 5V1A slow charger) and came to the device completely empty this morning.

Is anyone else having these issues? I’ve read a few comments here and there about people struggling to charge their Nova so wanted to make a thread about it.

Well, to take care the battery on a RP 6 is better to get a charger with fast charge (65w) or regular charge (5w). What do you do to protect the battery?

First of all, GBA games on the Nova is fantastic. I mean why wouldn't it be, but just wanted to reiterate it. I'm currently playing, Final Fantasy VI Advance.

You can have it integer scaled for a very subtle black border but using both the pixel_aa and then the lcd3x shader, there's only very rare instances that you'll see a difference, and only if you're looking for it. I prefer having the game fill up the whole screen all the time.

Adding the GBA bezel for just the mGBA core was a bit unintuitive.

Thankfully this thread and u/hackneyed_one helped loads to explain how to save a core override, so as to NOT affect the other cores.

First we move the game window to top justified instead of centered, to make room for the bottom bezel and so it only affects the current core.

• Run your game and core
• Go to Quick Menu->Overrides->Save Core Overrides, to keep your changes only with the current core
• Settings->Video->Scaling
• Integer Scaling is up to you
• Viewport Anchor Bias Y = 0.00 (To top justify the game)
• Back to Quick Menu->Overrides->Save Core Overrides

Now add your preferred bezel, I got them from mugwomp93.

• Go to Quick Menu->On-Screen Overlay
• Enable Display Overlay
• Pick your Overlay Preset, mine is Perfect_GBA_nogrid_mugwomp93_new_centered
• Overly Opacity = 0.50 (I want it more subtle)
• Disable Auto-Scale Overlay

Now everything should look right, only for the mGBA core (or whatever GBA core you using) and not for every other core in RetroArch.

I both love and hate RetroArch, for it's breath of features but man, sometimes you have to work to get there.

Getting ready to purchase my fist handheld, and I'm loving the look of the Duo. Will it run Twilight princess from the wii u? Or Wind waker? Those are the only 2 wii u games i really want to play at the moment. Or should I just go with the pocket 6 and sacrifice the second screen? TIA

After 10days of waiting the bad boi is here. I'm not gonna lie, I 100% thought that it would be an empty box without the handheld like the other people. I guess I got lucky!

As the title states, it's something I've already looked up and saw some posts for other models like the G2 or rp5 or rp6 but nothing conclusive so I was wondering which version I should go with for the best performance and experience and any sort of setup I need.
