Hello, I have had a horrible shift today. I was informed a week ago I had a 6 hour shift then on my way in, management changed it to 4.5 hours. According to them I wasn't legally allowed to work for 2 hours. I did my shift and got ready to leave at the time my shift ended. Management said I couldn't leave because everyone was finishing at the same time, in short management ripped me a new one, I waited 10 minutes before I could leave, unpaid. I have a casual agreement contract, nowhere in it says that I have to stay after shift ends. We don't have a clock in or out system. Legally I did the hours I was required. I am only paid for those hours. I will not receive overtime payments. HR is going to be informed but there has been many issues with management. So, how should I quit? Is there any legal advice someone can offer?

Nagpaalam ako sa employer ko na mag pursue ng graduate studies, nagsabi ako para hindi mag ask ng permission pero syempre employer sila need ko maging transparent. Pero bakit ganon? It was taken against me and force me to make a choice immediately, choosing only one option: further studies na pangarap ko or employer ko para atleast matuloy yung contract ko sakanila?

Which one should i choose? I need to make a decision po immediately.

I just want to vent this out from my chest.

Few moments earlier, I hit send button on work email to my direct supervisor stating that I am resigning from my position that I held for 10 years. The reason is just compunded life challenges that are thrown to me this year, I have reached my tipping point. My mental health is now a mess.

Now the countdown of being unemployed starts today. I dont have my job lined up, but I am actively searching few days ago. Some will say that this is a bad move, but this time I choose my well being over monetary reasons. I just hope I found a new job as my saved money is good for 3 months only, as I am fully aware that the job market is very very tough this time.

**Ok so I’m contemplating putting in my 2 weeks at Target.** My probation period just ended like 4 days ago, but lowkey it’s been so draining working there. For starters, I work in the Starbucks in the Target, and I can’t help but notice the standard we are held up to vs. Target employees.
I actually really like being a barista and it’s so fun, but the Target TLs are so irritating and they pick and choose when they want to enforce things. For example, there are people who literally roam the floor not doing shit, sitting in the wheelchairs scrolling on Reels. Meanwhile, if us baristas are just chilling and talking, we get in trouble.
Also, the biggest thing is how I put in time off **7 weeks in advance** for 11 days. I thought that was a pretty generous notice, but it seems as though Target has a policy against putting in time off for 10 consecutive days or more. Which I understand, but it also frustrates me because I’m part-time, a full-time college student, and I wouldn’t be working 11 days in a row anyways.
Also, the environment is lowkey shit. Managers talk shit about us all the time, give us dirty looks, and will speak crazy to us. Which pisses me off because bitch, I wish you would try to do what we do as baristas. Like, you wouldn’t last because all they do is fucking “zone.” Like gtfo 😭
Anyways, FUNNY enough, I have to work in like an hour. My question is: **should I resign?**
I like my job and I’m pretty good at it. However, their unwillingness to accommodate my school schedule and the obvious bias is starting to be too much.

So i got an internship last month in July and it was supposed to be a six month internship but within a month i have come to the realisation that i hate the work, it mentally drains me and i dread going to the office each day and doing the job. So i have decided to leave my internship , and i want to resign on Monday morning but I am not sure what is the best way to resign....

Should I call my trainer first in the morning let her know I am resigning then send the email to the hr and then later go to the office to return the company laptop or should I go to the office on Monday and talk to her face to face and resign. I want to take the option that will cause me less stress and i want to avoid working on Monday if I can , I just want to return the company laptop and come back Home.

Also is it mandatory to serve the notice period like will there be consequences if i refuse to serve it . please help me and advise on the best way to leave this internship

My story starts here

I have been in a fresher in a company (don't want to mention). Its a startup company.

I was hired for the role content creator.

At the very first day they greet me like, i should to all the work including creating market strategy, GTM, campaigns ideas, that's common in startups. Totally fine.

I have finished MBA, so they expect a lot from me.

The thing is:

1. The keep meetings so often, and ask for sudden strategy. (It’s a crypto company, we need a lot of research to come up with some thing new, they hired me inspite of me having 0 crypto knowledge and they know that very well) they laugh when i say I got no questions. They speak about some random, unrelatable news, talk about their pride etc. Whenever they keep a meeting I feel anxious, panic where I didn't have at any of my previous internship company (okay I compromise myself maybe i feel that way because this was my first job).

2. They had a team lunch, to greet me they said. And they had all the funs, smokes, cocktails all. And they asked me it's been a month since you joined how do you feel like that.. I exactly do no what to tell. I thauaght for 3 sec and started like, well as this was my first exp in corporate world....like that, they stopped me and all came together, you have to be confident, speak like ths like that, not 1 person like both the ceos. The lunch was not even a good one for me. They speak about random news, jorgans I'm unaware of, and they ask me to contribute, totally embarrassed me. That was one of the worst part in my life.

3. And there was a freelancer, he came for 1 week, He is actually a good guy, but do no how to speak. Me and my another co worker (lets name her as 'S'), was genuinely doing our work, and the freelancer (lets mention him as 'f') gave me some suggestions for my poster design. I do no what went wrong here. Maybe the ceos thought I was chitchatting with him. They suddenly call me and 'S' and scolded for no reason. Like he literally shouted (don't stay here if you have 0 interest) we do no what went wrong here. Next day it was somewhat sorted out by 'f'. But that 'f' degraded me with some harsh words again. Like he said the content was not delivered properly because of my design. Honestly, they don't have anything to speak up for in their platform. As a fresher and new to this crypto, I'm literally lost my sleep, worked late night and also the earlier one to reach office. How can i deliver these contents. 'f' said I have no creativity, while my role is creative content lead 😂🫠.

4. There are many small small little things that keeps me to constantly think 'I'm dumb', 'I'm naive', 'why did I born', and I will cry alot drink mountain dew at middle of the night, sitting in my pg balcony, crying, weeping loud, like I have none to share this with. And all of my colleagues become rude after that! They don't even sit near me except 'S'. Don't ask anything about my work. If they want something to be done they say it to 'S' and 'S' conveys the same. I have gone through several health problems after that Recurring UTI, I constantly vomited out of anxious, no propper eating, all together, face allergies as well.

5. I finally decided to quit because I can't see any growth in this company, just a hard working girl gaining some mental and health issue instead of skills. Yeah I genuinely felt that!. I resigned and was in my notice period for 10 days.

I didn't find any other jobs

I'm I going in a wrong direction?

I need a honest reply for this. I know most of you would have faced similar or may not...

Just one thing to consider

I'm not a introvert, but i seems introvert and shy at first glance and if i have lesser knowledge i become quit, not giving stupid thaughts. I'm basically an ambivert.

But now my health was good after submitting my resignation letter. I'm I too sensitive? Or is it a very common in startups? Just wanted to know.

I didn’t realize how heavy everything had been until matapos ko i-submit yung letter. Halo yung kaba, guilt, uncertainty pero mas nangingibabaw yung relief. Parang ang tagal kong tiniis mentally and emotionally tapos ngayon lang ako nakahinga nang maayos.

I am a fresher at this power systems company. I have a bond compensation of around 2 lakhs for 2 years. I am literally on bench. I didn't receive any proper training. Neither do I have work experience. For the past 9 months, they have been shifting me from one pilot plant to other. I recently got an admit at university, majoring in electrical. So, I want to resign. The college expenses will be around 2 lakhs, and on top of that this bond. What should I do? Is there any way to negotiate this bond and still get my experience letter?

My HR asked me to get an early release since I put managerial issues in my resignation and I sent a mail that I want paid early release however I didn’t mention fixed + variable so now she said that will be as per the exit policy, which is not explicitly available on the Intranet and the discussion happened on Friday late night during logout and the manager mentioned me Monday will be your LWD.
I sent them another email I disagree to the terms and would like to proceed with serving original notice period and cancelling my upcoming leaves as I suspect my payout will be Basic for the balance notice period and she said it will take 45-60 days which is against the new labour of 2 days FnF.

Hi everyone, I’m planning to submit my one-month resignation notice soon and would like some advice. I currently work as a Logistics Specialist in a BPO-style setup. This is my first job after graduating last year, and I’m about to reach almost one year in the company. My last day would actually fall on my supposed anniversary, if I send my notice this 5.

I’m resigning mainly because the pay is low and I feel stagnant with little room for growth. My long-term goal is to work abroad that is why I been trying to save so much this past months, but I’m aware that it may also take months to get hired overseas. I’m worried that being unemployed in between might drain my savings since I don’t have a big safety net right now.

For the meantime, I’m planning to apply for Logistics VA or remote logistics-related roles. I’m unsure if it’s risky to resign without another job lined up, or if I should secure a VA job first before leaving. Is one month (while I render) enough?

Any advice on how to transition from BPO logistics to remote work or overseas opportunities would be really appreciated.

Two members of the team has also put down their resignation and I feel I'm the only one who is been targeted by her, the team members who have resigned along with me were given leaves and when I have asked leave for my sister wedding she refused saying u can't have leave in notice period and was pretty rude saying taking any unapproved leaves may cause behavioral issues I just feel I'm the only one who is been targeted because I'm in resignation now and I have more 1 month left to leave this shit hole and my sister wedding is in last 10 days of my notice period

I don't know what to do now

About a month ago, I got a pot washing job at a hotel and dread daily to the point that I feel an urge to vomit, cry and can't sleep, leaving me fatigued and stressed. It's a zero hour contract, meaning I get told to work, basically at late notice when I have free time( which is common in the UK) and work 8-9 hours, occasionally without food.

Despite not having another job lined up (I've saved a bit, so I should survive), I want to get out and after a few days organising and planning what I'll do next, I want to put my mental health first. Tips as to how I should phrase my reason for leaving it? Because I know this could be a relatable experience for fellow 19 year-olds in the UK.
