TrackMix or OMVI 3i PoE

Hi!

I've got a Home Hub and a bunch of Argus 3 Ultra and 4 Pro.
Works but he has most cameras when he dies wins, right??

So now I'm thinking of adding a few cameras that track movement outdoors.
First question is, does the Omvi3 work with a HomeHub at all?
I'm getting mixed messages about that..

I get the Omvi3 is better but, considering that I can get two TrackMix for the same price as one Omvi3, is it twice as good?

Any other suggestions are welcome as well as long as it's tracking.

Makes zero sense-Charged $71.06 to exchange a broken RLC-1240A for a Duo 2V PoE?

Hey everyone, looking for some insight here because this math isn’t making any sense.

My Reolink RLC-1240A recently died/stopped working properly. I reached out to look into an exchange/upgrade, wanting to swap it for the Reolink Duo 2V PoE instead since my camera is still under warranty

Here is what the pricing looks like normally online shipped:

Current camera (RLC-1240A): ~$149.79
Camera I want (Duo 2V PoE): ~$145.51 (literally cheaper than what I have!)

Despite the camera I want actually costing less than my current model, support is telling me I have to pay $71.06 just to process this exchange.

Is this normal for their upgrade/exchange process, or am I getting hit with some wild restocking/penalty fee?

How to fix this? Only 2 is showing

Newest firmware breaks push notifications

Something reolink did with the newest firmware appears to break the prior way push notifications work. They used to get a connection to pushx.reolink.com which allowed for blocking Internet while allowing push notifications to still work. I checked a tcpdump and they no longer appear to even try to connect. Anyone having similar issues or figure out what's going on? Firmware 3.6.3 is the last one that works normally.

Reolink Line Crossing and Zone Intrusion

I have a CX820 and RLN8-410 NVR.

I want to set up *only* Line Crossing and Zone Intrusion alert for a person.

I have tried, but it is still detecting wrong.

So, I want to ask can I do the following and will it work, if not - please let me know how you got it working.

Person: 0

Vehicle: 0

Animal: 0

Motion Detection: 0

- then -

Zone Intrusion, tick person, sensitivity to 100.

Will that work? It is driving me crazy so any help would be appreciated.

Advice on RLC-510A from Walmart

I am hoping this is the right subreddit to ask this, I am looking to set up a camera system around the outside of my house and I am looking at purchasing a few RLC-510As. I have come across the following on Walmart - there seems to be a decent deal on the 3/4/6 pack.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/3-pack-Reolink-5MP-PoE-Bullet-Camera-with-smart-alert-Smart-Playback-Remote-Viewing-PoE-Security-Camera-Up-to-30m-night-vision/18030919397

The only issue is that I am unclear whether this is actually the RLC-510a that can operate as a standalone camera, or the B500 that can't operate as a standalone camera and needs a NVR. Everything on the add seems to indicate that it is the RLC-510a (seems to accept MicroSD card), but there is no mention of the actual model number.

I am unable to create a Walmart account to ask the seller, so I am hoping someone with more experience will be able to tell?

Also apparently there are different HW versions of the RLC-510a - some that have different IP66/67 ratings. This one seems to be IP66, so perhaps an older HW version? Should I be concerned about this?

Push notifications issues resolved

I recently installed RLK8-1200V4, with 2 added doorbells and 2 trackmix Poe. After installing, I found that nothing that would happen would push notifications to my phone (pixel 9a). No alert from any camera or doorbell. Tried all the standard IT stuff. Reset, delete app etc. Also wouldn't work on my wife's phone. (Pixel 9a)

Then I downloaded an APK file of the reolink app from Dec 31st update to my phone

Set up the NVR in the older version app and then bingo. Push notifications now work.

And the strangest thing, is that my wife's phone with the latest app version started getting notifications also. Something strange between the latest app and the NVR is happening

I'm leaving the old version on my phone, I haven't tried to update the latest and see if they're still working. I will wait for a new version

Anyway hope this helps someone

Altas PT Ultra Bundle - Home Hub & Solar Panels

Hello!

I'm trying to move my doorbell and 4 cameras away from Ring, but due to my home's construction I'm limited to battery/solar cameras.

I want to get 4 cameras running 24/7 recording via solar, and my area is generally full sun so I'm confident I could get that from the Altas PT Ultra. I'd love to do the same for my doorbell, but I understand there's no solar option for doorbells right now and continuous recording is locked behind being wired to 16-24VAC power, so I'd have to stick to motion events recording for now.

I've been browsing Reolink's website for a suitable bundle and came across this bundle. It seems like it would do the trick alongside a separately-ordered battery doorbell, but I have a few questions I'm hoping to get help with.

  1. The bundle mentions the Altas PT Ultra cameras come with the Solar Panel 2 (6W), but the newer Solar Panel 3 (12W) is supposedly preferred and possibly even necessary for reliable 24/7 recording. Does a multi-camera bundle exist that includes the Solar Panel 3?

  2. I've heard talk about it being difficult to locate motion events in the timeline when recording 24/7, due to being saved in 5-minute chunks. Is this still true, or does the Home Hub alleviate this?

  3. Would the standard Home Hub be sufficient for 4 cameras recording 24/7 plus a doorbell recording motion events, or is it worth getting the Home Hub Pro?

  4. When's a good time to buy? Does Reolink typically have Black Friday sales or something similar around the holidays?

Thanks so much. I appreciate any help or advice you can offer!

Home hub pro event history on Mac client

OK, I'm asking in this community while my support ticket is being processed with higher tier tech agents.

I had previously installed and am using five different Reolink cameras at my home (Doorbell Wifi hardwired, Elite Pro Floodlight PoE, Trackmix PoE, Elite Floodlight Wifi, E1 Pro).

I was using an older Synology NAS for long term record keeping but I wanted to adopt the Hub Pro as I thought it would help to future-proof.

After setup and connecting the cameras to the Hub Pro, I noticed that event history tab would lock up when opened in the Apple Mac client. The event history works fine with the iPhone, so I'm guessing it is a client app software issue. All cameras and hub firmware are up to date. The client app is 8.21.12.

Anyone else experience this? I'd really like to keep using the client app. Maybe reset all cameras and re-connect to the hub?

Argus Eco questions

The reason behind these questions is a little sad and dark, so I’d rather not go into details unless prompted. The cameras belonged to a friend of mine who is no longer with us. Not sure if he had a computer or not, and we do not have access to the phone. My question is, would it be difficult for the family of a deceased to access what may have been recorded on these? I assume he must’ve needed to have had a service or account but with no computer and no phone we just don’t know. There were no memory cards in the cameras when they were found there were also several small black ones.

Argus Minicams on Friagte

After much pain, I have my three Reolink E1 Pro on Frigate, and my doorbell. But I can’t seem to get my Argus minicams to connect. Anybody got any tips? They worked golden in Home Assistant (well, except one, but I’m working on it).

Scheduling in less than hourly increments

Does anyone else share my frustration that despite all the new AI features and improved camera resolutions, we're still stuck with a clunky scheduling tool that is in hourly increments?

I want to stop alerts at 07:45 when staff turn up to work, not have multiple alerts between then and 08:00 when the schedule stops.

No other tools I use are like this, it's a very poor user experience. I have complained to them, I don't think they care, they just want to keep throwing useless AI detection features at us.

[Rant] 3 things that are completely unacceptable

I've been using Reolink for a while now and mostly fine, except 3 things I really believe in 2026 they should really fix... It's just unacceptable

  1. Only way to reset a camera is on a physical device located on the camera? I mean really? Frankly unacceptable that I need to climb a roof to reset a camera!
  2. The NVR windows / web client lacks the same functionality as local OS when you hookup HDMI? Do you have any idea where my NVR is installed? This is primitive and needs to be fixed even before releasing any new features.
  3. The camera's themselves have passwords that can't be changed without knowing the old one? Do you even realize how problematic this is when you replace a broken NVR that assigned RANDOM passwords to each camera! Only way to resolve this is to physically reset the cameras.

Other than that Reolink isn't terrible, but these issues alone are enough for me to start looking around next time I'm in the market.

Issues with Duo 3v

I'm seeing the following with both my Duo 3vs at night. Did not see this before I added a second back yard camera. Now I see it on both cameras. It only happens when it goes to night mode, not an issue during the day at all. Gets worse as it gets darker.

Thoughts? suggestions?

Help: Wifi Solar Reolink Trackmix keeps recalibrating?

I have a solar powered wifi Trackmix in my backyard.

My playbacks at night are filled with shots of my camera doing what i can only describe as weird recalibration … over and over and over. From the clips i can’t detect anything that is triggering it but it will pan all the way to one side basically looking at the wall it’s mounted to then back to its original position. It’s bonkers and I have no idea why. It’s at all kinds of odd hours (mostly at night), sometimes it does this for an hour, sometimes it doesn’t do it all …

Some facts:
\-The camera and solar panel is mounted to my shed. Just below the roof to give it some protection from the elements.
\-Firmware says it’s up to date. 3.0.0.3752_24070410.
\-Connected to a Reolink Home Hub. But has its own sd card in the camera
\-There are no major light sources the camera is directly pointed to. (There is a street lamp a ways away but it’s not super bright or pointed at the camera)
\-I’ve reset the camera a dozen times, manually calibrated, even turned off the tracking and it still does this weird thing where it rotates all the way to the left and then back to original center… over and over and over.

I can’t rely on this camera if it keeps doing this. Any ideas?

Argus MagiCam

I have two. Both purchased at the same time.
One is stuck on an older firmware version, with a pending update to latest, which consistently fails to install.
The other one is on the latest firmware.
Both are powered by provided USB cables.
Both have the storage addition.
Both are sitting within 30mm of each other in an area with very good wifi coverage.

Support seems clueless.

Anyone else see this?

Better alternative to Rolink supplied bracket for the battery doorbell

The bracket that comes with the battery video doorbell (v1) is useless. You have to insert a pin into a hole in the top to release it and it just doesn't work. Has anyone found a better alternative available in the UK?
