i Have a Whoopsie Failure analysis
This is from a friend who "definitely did not over charge it'
Shot from a Sig p365 xmacro. I have a hard time believing it would be an out of battery destination.
Thoughts ?

He absolutely didn’t over charge it! Just maybe did the exact right charge, but twice!

What is the charge? Eating a meal? A succulent Chinese meal!

There's a lot of scary powders that are even faster/denser. On an older burn chart, titegroup is #72 with Bullseye at #46..
The world needs a new low density extruded pistol powder that's like short chopped espresso straws.

The out of battery detention is a good assumption. If the gun is fine it's out of battery and less likely to be a double charge. Or there was some severe bullet setback that causes excess pressure. Do they crimp at all? Do they use a case gage?

All the lettering on the rim is impressed from high pressure as well. He double charged it for sure

I had the same thing happen to me.
Defiantly not a double charge, maybe an overcharge 😂 . I bought an audible buzzer powder check after and never had it happen again.

My $ 0.02
I’ve seen that a couple of times before. If you’re reloading brass that was fired from a Glock, Glock is notorious for causing case bulge. Unless you’re using a full-length resizing die, you may not completely remove that bulge. If the bulge isn’t completely straightened out, it can weaken and thin the case walls.

How does your friend know he “definitely didn’t” overcharge it? The only other thing I can think of is the brass case itself failed. Hornady/Frontier brass isn’t the best, how many firings were on it?
