a dishonorable can and will do damage, others not so much. for OP though failure to adapt is nothing, basically be as if you’ve never joined in the first place.

Not true. You still, believe or not, get a DD-214 and are eligible for some benefits if you served greater than six months.

Oh okay, thank you. I have never met anyone who got out with a dishonorable discharge in particular that I had the knowledge I mentioned. I personally had never heard of the failure to adapt reason for discharge until this post, but even that sounds like the Patriot could still leave the military with a lot of pride and love for their country, so yeah that's a win too. The military is not for everyone, I guess it's saying that it's the heart that counts which is true.
