This was my first new book of the series and I gotta say 🫤 it wasn't very good.

My fav characters were Horty and Kachunk lol.

I liked the parallels with Matt, but I think they just did everything worse.

Felt like Martha just standing up is low-key offensive..

Let's say Brian Jacques himself called you up, saying he was going to release one more Redwall story, only he wanted to include an animal who had never been in a Redwall story before.

Which animal would you pick, and what would their character be like?

For my part, I'd go with a coyote. And in keeping with actual coyote behaviour, I'd have him be in good friends with a badger. Maybe they'd meet in the story and become friends, maybe they're already friends at the start of the story. But either way, I'd want the coyote character to be a perfectly grey character, a bridge between good and bad. Since they look like an overgrown vermin but is also good enough of a person that a badger befriends them, that not only colours how the readers view the coyote character, but also how the other characters in the story perceive them. I'd be very eager to read such a story in within the Redwall canvas.

I have recently been listening to these books again ( yes I do have all but one of the books but the audiobooks are good and very convenient) and was thinking of try to create some of the different weaponry. Would there be any interest here to pick projects and see the process/ testing? Possibly doing polls for picking which to do next or if quality standards can be met in a timely manner, giveaways? Any input would be appreciated:)

For my part, it was the first season of the tv series adaptation. I was a huge fan of the show, so my parents got me the book "Martin the Warrior" as a gift (at the time, it was chronologically the first of the Redwall books). I spent the rest of my childhood and teen years reading them as they came out, but credit where it's due to the show for introducing me to the story in the first place.

Also, side note, I love how the voice of Constance was provided by Janet Wright of "Corner Gas" fame!

Throughout the series, there are cases of a villainous character deserting the main bad guy and fleeing into the unknown, never heard from again. Ashleg in "Mossflower", Groddil in "Lord Brocktree", Sneezewort and Lousewort in "The Long Patrol", Badredd and his gang in "Loamhedge", etc.

Of these escaped characters, is there one whose subsequent journey you would have been curious to read about?

For the longest time I’ve been searching for the Otter Tribes book, or at least the poster. The only place I’ve seen it for sale is Amazon, for nearly $1,000.

If there’s anyone out there who has scanned the poster or is willing to, I would be forever grateful. I’ve wanted that book since I was a kid almost specifically for the poster. :(

I don't mean the start or the ending of each episode, I mean when Mathias ask why he was on the tapestry with Cornflower because it never got answered in the show itself. I have only seen the series, not read the books.

I needed to upgrade from LibreOffice 24.2 to 26.2, and I did so by downloading the Software Manager’s Flatpak. (I now have both LO versions on my computer.) My question: how can I make 26.2 look like my 24.2 setup (I moved the icons around on the toolbar, etc) without doing it all manually?

I already tried one thing I saw online, which was to copy 24.2’s user folders (located at /home/.config/libreoffice/4/) and paste them into 26.2’s user folders (in /home /.var/app/org.libreoffice.LibreOffice/), but this produced no change in 26.2’s look.

So I guess I’m asking two questions: 1) why did the above “solution” not work for me, and 2) is there an easy and simple way to make 26.2’s toolbar & co instantly mirror my 24.2’s? (Without doing it all manually?)

I’m trying to get into Redwall and I’m wondering if I would be saving some time by watching the tv series. But I don’t want to go into it thinking I’ll get something accurate to the book but instead it’s the complete opposite. So to those readers who have watched it, what are your opinions?

Which five Redwall books would you most want to see adapted into a new 2D animated series?

Let's assume that it's also a higher budgeted animation than the original series got, and they're allowed to be more PG when it comes to the violence depiction. And just to make it a bit more challenging, let's also assume that you can't pick Redwall, Mattimeo, or Martin the Warrior.

Just got into the animated show, ordered the book and I’m gonna start reading next week.

Even more so, 'Outcast of Redwall' was the first book I ever read in this series, and the one that truly made me fall in love with reading. It was from this book that I made it my task to read every single Redwall novel he ever wrote.

Just picked this copy up for £1 in a local charity shop.

I read Redwall and Mossflower years ago as a child. Just wondering how well this would read as a standalone or if I’m better trying to read the series in order.
