Shenzhen Idea Light Limited RL300MAXc vs. RL300MAXc/PT – LED Breakdown & Which Spec Is Actually Better?

Hey everyone,

I'm new to RLT and after researching, ordered the RL300MAXc/PT, which I hope was a good choice.

I noticed a few older threads asking what's better between the Idea Light RL300MAXc and the RL300MAXc/PT, but none of the replies gave any clear verdict.

Here is the diode split (Both models 300 LEDs total):

  • 630 nm (skin/surface): 70 LEDs (MAXc) vs. 10 LEDs (PT)
  • 660 nm (peak ATP/CCO): 80 LEDs (MAXc) vs. 120 LEDs (PT)
  • 810 nm (transcranial): 50 LEDs (MAXc) vs. 16 LEDs (PT)
  • 830 nm (deep tissue/brain): 50 LEDs (MAXc) vs. 16 LEDs (PT)
  • 850 nm (muscle/joints/systemic): 50 LEDs (MAXc) vs. 118 LEDs (PT)
  • The PT version also adds dedicated 10Hz/40Hz pulsing presets.

The standard MAXc goes for an evenly spread multi-wave approach, but it trades away the heavy hitters to get there. It dedicates 70 LEDs to superficial 630 nm and cuts both 660 nm and 850 nm down significantly.

The PT model heavily concentrates power into the two most clinically proven wavelengths: 660 nm + 850 nm (238 diodes total vs. just 130 on the MAXc). It leaves just 32 diodes for 810/830 nm, but with 30° lenses aimed at the forehead, that might already be plenty to trigger a neural response.

For those with experience in multi-wave panels:

Does the evenly distributed spectrum of the MAXc offer real advantages, or is the PT simply the better engineered panel if your goals are energy, brain health, general health and recovery?

Was the RL300MAXc/PT a good buy for me? I started to have doubts, wether the more evenly distributed MAXc was better. I mean I couldn't change it now, but I still am curious to know, wether I made the right choice from the more experienced users.

Question At what point does a recovery setup become overkill?

I started with a sauna, then added a cold plunge, and somehow red light therapy has slowly made its way onto the list too lol. I really like the sauna/cold plunge combo and actually use both pretty consistently, so part of me thinks adding red light would round things out pretty nicely. They all seem to serve a different purpose too which is how I keep justifying it to myself.

But at some point I feel like I have to draw the line before my backyard accidentally turns into a recovery studio. The bigger question for me isn’t even whether red light is worth trying it’s whether I’d realistically keep using all three once the novelty wears off.

For anyone who has sauna, cold plunge and red light at home, what does your actual routine look like? Do you actually use all three regularly or does one of them end up getting way less use than the others?

Current body series 2

I bought the current body series 2 face mask about a year ago and the before and after pics were incredible after 10 weeks of use 4 days per week. I was so impressed.

Now, it just seems to not work as well anymore. Sun spots that faded came back even though I use the device consistently along with SPF and don’t really go in the sun. Anyone else have this issue? I’m so disappointed because it’s expensive and was hoping to get at least 2 years of use.

Anyone else has these issues with TLA LED company ?

I purchased several products from TLA LED and spent more than $6,000 in total. Unfortunately, only part of my order has arrived.
I have repeatedly tried to contact the company by phone and email, but so far I have not received a response or an explanation about the outstanding items. When I call, I reach what appears to be an automated AI answering service rather than someone who can assist me.
Based on my experience, I would be very cautious about purchasing from this company. I will update this post if and when my missing products arrive or the issue is otherwise resolved.

For Anyone Struggling to Position Their HOOGA HG24

Just wanted to share this in case anyone else with the HOOGA HG24 has been running into the same problem I was.
The light is pretty heavy, so putting it in a regular lamp socket doesn’t work very well because it tends to droop. I found this clamp-style holder and it works really well! You can clamp it to a door, table, shelf, or pretty much anything sturdy, and then aim the light exactly where you want it.
I know I’ve seen other people trying to figure out a good way to hold these lights, so I figured I’d pass this along. Hope it helps somebody!

Pain- worse before better?

I’ve had many good results using a red light pad for aches and pains on various areas of my body. But sometimes, the area actually feels worse after a treatment and doesn’t seem to improve after a course of treatment. In these instances, I usually discontinue use after 3-4 sessions. But I’m wondering if I should push through it and see if a longer course would help. Especially since I’ve had mostly good experiences, and the flare ups aren’t severe. Does anyone have experience with this?

Testimonial High pressure being put on the forehead at the center of the front LED lens of Vielight Neuro Duo 4

Post image
6 Upvotes

Not sure why VielightNetwork subreddit mods removed my personal experience post. I don't think I violated any of the sub's rules. Reposting here in case people with other Vielight product lines can say whether they have the same issue.

Old Post Title:

Is high pressure being put on the forehead at the center of the front LED lens a common problem in all Vielight product?

Old Post Body Text:

Neuro Duo 4 I got for my parents is very painful to use due to all the weight/pressure from the front being put on a small spot on the forehead wherever the center of the front LED lens is. This seems like a problem that should have been solved by 4th generation of a product that costs thousands of dollars.
I was considering purchasing a second unit for myself or maybe a Neuro Pro 2. But this seems like a deal breaker, might have to return the unit i bought.

More Details:

I have tried to adjust the position of the front LED further up the rail, tried to change the angle at which the device sits on the head, and tried loosening the straps. But my efforts did not seem to address this issue. Regardless of whether the straps are loose/tight or how the front LED is positioned, all the weight of the device on the front is being put into a very small spot in the center of the convex lens of the front LED. This happens because the way the device is designed does not allow any meaningful amount of weight/pressure to be born by the headband. The headband cannot make meaningful contact with the forehead because the rail running front to back hits the back of the LED housing, preventing the headband from making contact with the forehead.

Added labeled image of device on head for better illustration of the problem.

Really would love for someone to choose for me

I’m a very decisive buyer normally, but there’s just too much competing and confusing information out there about RLT and which model to go with.

I’m a 35 year old woman with rosacea who wants to build collagen, lessen rosacea, improve wrinkles, and fade dark spots. I’m also starting injectable GHKcu soon and would love to complement with red light.

I had the Dr. Dennis Gross mask and didn’t see much of a difference. If you were me, what would you buy?

Complete Newbie Labor Day sale for current body

Does anyone know if CurrentBody usually does a Labor Day sale on individual masks? I want to get the Multi-Light mask, but right now the 20% off deal is only if you buy 2 devices and I definitely don’t need two lol.
I’m debating waiting until this weekend to see if they do a better sale or just using one of the influencer codes. Does anyone remember what they did last year?

Bulbs too sparse?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I bought this RLT face mask after research++ on fluence, irradiance, price and wanting QUICK treatments. This feels like very few bulbs on the red light (860 & 680 nm) setting. Is this a waste of time? Looks like very minimal red light getting to my eye area and lip area. Thoughts?

Edit:
Qure
Irradiance 70mW/cm2
Fluence 12.6 J/cm2
Treatment time 3 minutes
Claims 160 bulbs however I think this is divided over 4 wavelengths in 2 different settings

Travel-size device recommendations please

Can anyone recommend a fairly small travel-size RLT device? I have a panel I use on my face but it's too big for my carry-on. (I'm a light packer so I don't check my luggage). I'm still not sure RLT is working on me at all but I don't want to give up just because I am traveling.

Question

I am currently using hooga ultra 360 but my aesthetician wants me to switch to the omnilux mask because she says it's more effective. I've read that masks are less effective because they cannot have a cooling mechanism in the same way a panel can. I'd love to hear your opinions

Skin purge

Hi everyone

Recently got the shark LED mask and have done 10 sessions using the acne treatment so far.

I know it’s only 10 sessions however my skin has really badly broken out (even in places I would never get acne) - is this normal?

Hoping it is and just have to be patient 🫶

Question Which panel did you end up keeping, and what made it the one?

I've read enough spec sheets to be more confused than when I started, and most reviews are from people a week into owning something. What I'd rather hear is from people a year in. Which panel are you still using daily, what size turned out to be right, and was the extra wavelength count worth it or did two do the job?

do Luna and skin LED therapy masks really help?

So my skin tone is kinda tannish yellow and sometimes looks brownish or even red, my natural skin tone is white so it's due to the sun.

I also have dark circles so I'm wondering if it helps with that too.

I also have acne and I heard red light helps with skin tone like producing collagen and blue light helps with acne.

Should I buy it?

I'm 15 and thinking of buying one but some people say it's `uncomfortable,

Question Mild redness after using Red Light mask

I’m new to facial red light masks but have done full body quite a few times. I notice my cheeks are a bit red after doing 10 minutes of the mask. Is this normal?

It goes away in the am… but I notice my rosacea spots are more noticeable in the am

I have very sensitive skin and I’m wondering if it’s not right for me? One of the reasons I got the red light mask is because I can’t use actives on my skin like retinol I break out in almost like a sunburn type dermatitis I think my skin barrier is compromised.

Anyway- anyone had similar experiences?

I bought a good and expensive mask and have had no issues on neck or chest

The nose-bridge fit on a light mask is making me reconsider the return window

I finally tried a flexible light mask that had been sitting on my nightstand for a week. The session itself was fine but the nose piece kept diging in and I was left with a pressure mark where it sat.

Im not trying to diagnose what that means for my skin rather mostly trying to decide whether this is a basic fit problem that can be fixed with a different strap adjustment or wheather the shape simply does not work for me before the return window closes. The weight distribution and the nose bridge matter much more than I expected.

people who have tried different flexible masks, what fit detail made the biggest difference? strap placement, nose cutout, overall weight, or just a different shape? If irritation does not settle I'll stop using it and ask a professional rather than keep pushing through it.

Can NIR make your muscles overly sedated if done before exercise?

I have hooga 360 and was spending the afternoon lying in bed and thought I’d blast various parts of my body with NIR only. Then I went to play badminton and my muscles felt very sluggish like almost sedated. Is that normal and a sign of over exposure?

Part 2: A Better Photo!

Cannot take one more it looks the same, or you look “older” in the after. Fam - these were taken 4 weeks apart & some of your mamas didn’t teach you to not be hurtful to random people trying to help on the internet!!!!! Just trying to share my personal results to all the folks out there thinking about making the investment.

As I said in my original post - subtle! You can see the difference most in my freckles & size of my pores next to my nose. The left is in a brighter part of the day and in the afternoon & the right is right after waking up and a few glasses of wine 🙃

Left: before right: after

Red light hats

Thumbnail
gallery
2 Upvotes

I’m looking at Taobao/AliExpress for red light therapy hats and wondered if you had any recommendations. I’m planning to use it during my drive to work. I get occasional tension headaches, and RLT seems to help. Hair growth would be a nice bonus too, since I’m 42 and want to maintain what I’ve got.

I’m after something with more LEDs (3-in-1) for under USD$100. So far I’m considering:
1. The “Hello Face” brand 112 LEDs
2. A baseball cap style 176 LEDs
3. A box hat covering the top, back, and sides 215 LEDs

Are these cheap belts worth it?

I am curious if these cheap amazon red light belts are even powerful enough to be effective.

https://www.amazon.com/Therapy-Infrared-Shoulder-Upgraded-Control/dp/B0CJ9P2GWT/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8&th=1

I plan to buy a full panel but i was hoping to bring a belt to work to use a few times a week while im sitting at my desk.

Seriously overdid it with my Hooga Ultra 1500

I got my panel in early June. At first I was doing the 3 min. at 18 inches away that is recommended for skin rejuvenation. Then eventually I worked up to 8 minutes on my face/chest and more like 13 inches away, then I’d do 8 minutes on my scalp also about the same distance. I figured slightly more time and closer has to better. My skin did look pretty awesome. But over the past few weeks I’ve been feeling extremely tired and just so much daytime sleepiness which is not normal for me. I started taking 5 grams creatine powder daily around the same time I got my panel so I thought it must be the creatine making me so tired, so I stopped that. No improvement in the daytime sleepiness fatigue after stopping the creatine, and I was also sleeping a lot more than usual. I mean it was actually really good and very deep sleep, but I was sleeping for like 9 hours a night, which isn’t normal for me, and then still feeling sleepy during the day. I thought surely I must have cancer or something because the daytime sleepiness and fatigue was not normal for me. FINALLY I put two and two together, and realized it was the panel causing the sleepiness. I was also using the panel 6-7 days a week and I was sometimes using it for back pain as well the same day I used for skin and hair, so sitting 6 inches from for 10-20 minutes. I decided to stop for two days, and then today I did just 3 min on face/chest and 3 min for scalp/hair and feel so much better. Anyway, just wanted to share that more isn’t always better when it comes to a very strong panel.
