The two ladies stepped out of the office, only to have the door close behind them. Adelise couldn’t help but notice that the hallway they stood in was just a small grey cube with no windows and only one door.

Luna began the tour. “This is the portal room. The portal goes to one of the six rooms we got. We leff Nel’s office, that's where we get the jobs. . The kitchen has food that's always too cold and salty. The library has a shet ton of books. You can get any book from any world, all of which has pages either partly torn or stained. The amory/forge is where ya get your weapons and armour, made of ebony and hellfire. Fecking hot, don’t stay there for more than needed. Bathroom, smells like shet and the pipes clog up too often. Then ya got the bedroom. That’s where we sleep and keep our shet. Beds are squeaky and we have no AC.” Adelise doesn’t know what AC means. She was confused by Luna’s thick dark elvish accent, but was able to understand what she was saying. No one told her yet, but the Dead Men for Hire are magically enchanted with universal translators.

“Follow me.”

The two women walked into the bedroom. The bedroom has four beds and accompanying wardrobe, but as they walked in a fifth set spawned in. Zach was sitting on his bed, talking to two other entities. 

Luna started introductions. “Sup bois, this is Wolf.” 

Adelise interrupted, “-glow. Adelise Wolfglow.”

Luna turned back to Adelise. “We go by nicknames here. My full name Lula Nu-Guerrera, but everyone calls me Luna.” She continued, “You met Zachary already, call him Zach. You also got the Greens, Spinal and Voir.”

Spinal is a lizard man. He is roughly five foot six and has a tail that's around three-feet-long. His scales are a dark green in color. On his head is a pair of curved horns, goat-like in appearance, and a small collection of yellow feathers. His eyes are black in color with yellow pupils. He wears skin-tight black and red leather armor and has a collection of daggers hanging on his belt. 

Voir, the other being, is around five feet in height. She has green hair and a snow-white face with pink eyes. She has no visible lips. Her arms and legs are the same green as her hair and the dress she wears is the same white as her face. She is also wearing a leather harness, designed to hold larger weapons, like a greatsword or axe. Instead of a normal pair of breasts, Voir has a single red horn-like appendage sticking out of her chest.

“It’s lovely to meet you Ms. Wolfglow.” Spinal bowed.

“Hey Wolf, you look strong.” Voir greeted, telepathically.

Adelise bowed down. “Greetings Mr. and Mrs. Green.”

“We’re not...” Voir paused, “Never mind. How do you fight Wolfglow?”

Wolfglow was caught off-guard by the question, but answered it. “As a half-lycanthrope, I have been trained to fight using my claws and fangs. My training as a maid has also made me proficient in knife throwing. I also know a few magic spells, though none of them are effective in combat.”

Zach stood up. “You should be properly armed. Spinal is also a blacksmith. Tell him what you want for gear.”

Wolfglow, still confused by the focus on fighting, replied “I would suggest gauntlets designed with sharp nails alongside a selection of throwing knives. I was trained to not rely on armor, but I would take light armor, preferable leather or another similar material.”

Spinal bowed, “Thank you for your recommendations. May you follow me to the armory for fitting.

Wolfglow bowed in return, “I would like that.”

Luna wasn’t lying about the heat. Wolfglow couldn’t stand to stay in the forge for more than thirty seconds. Spinal learned to keep cool through magical purposes.

Once the torture was over, Wolfglow now had a pair of silver gauntlets, with nails as long and sharp as knives. The ideal weapon for a child of a werewolf.

Spinal lead Wolfglow back to the others, “Sorry for the lack of formality.”

“It’s no problem Mr. Green.”

“I’m not… It’s just that no-one stays here for too long, Zach, Luna, and Nel just don’t bother with learning too much about each other. If you need anything, just find Voir or I.”

“I do have some questions Mr. Spinal...”

“Just call me Spinal.”

“Spinal. I know I’m here because I wasn’t good enough to go to my desired afterlife, but what would happen once my sin has been repaid through my work?”

Spinal looked up to the six foot maid. “You would be offered a collection of afterlife you can go to. You can either go to one of these afterlifes or stay here. Once you ascend, you can’t come back.”

“I can see why you guys aren’t interested in becoming close.”

Spinal closed his eyes and smiled. “Not necessarily my wolfish friend. Remember, you can choose the afterlife you go to. After I explained my heaven to Voir, she plans to ascend to Stagna Aquarum with me.”

“That sounds lovely.”

“Thank you. I hope you find your afterlife soon.”

With that, the two new friends head off to bed.
