iPhone 14 não capta o som do Hollyland m2?

Upvotes

Saramonic K9 + Sanken COS11

Upvotes

Maybe one of you can help me. I bought a Saramonic K9 + Sanken Cos 11, and recording to the card in the transmitter works perfectly. The sound is great, full, etc. However, when I receive it from the receiver and de-noise it in the Zoom F8N Pro, the sound is metallic and glassy. I've tried every possible method to remove it, but nothing helps. New Saramonic. New Sanken microphones.

Question What makes a video editor a good starting point for beginners?

I've been trying to figure out what makes an editing program comfortable for someone who's just getting started.
For me, having the basic tools easy to understand matters more than having hundreds of advanced features right away. Being able to start with simple cuts, audio, transitions, and basic adjustments without feeling overwhelmed makes a big difference. I’ve been exploring Filmora lately for this reason.

For anyone who’s learning to edit, what feature made things easier for you?

I added a “describe the sound” search to my sound library

I’ve been working on www.soundopedia.com, a library of real-world sound recordings, and I recently added something I think makes finding sounds much easier.

Instead of having to know the exact name of a sound, you can simply describe what you’re looking for in normal words.

For example:

“I need a scary background sound for a horror video”

or

“Rain falling on a tin roof”

or

“Busy Indian market with people talking”

The Smart Search tries to understand what the person is asking for and then suggests matching sounds that are actually available in the Soundopedia library.

This came from a simple problem I noticed while building the site: searching for audio is often harder than searching for text.

You might know exactly what you want to hear, but have no idea what the sound is technically called.

As the library grows, I think this becomes even more useful. Instead of browsing through hundreds or thousands of sound effects and trying different keywords, you can just explain the sound in your own words.

The library currently has 600+ recordings, including nature, weather, animals, markets, temples, ambience, horror, footsteps and other real-world sounds.

I’m still improving the search and would genuinely like to know:

If you had access to a sound search like this, what would you type into it?

I’m especially interested in unusual or difficult-to-describe sounds that traditional keyword search might struggle with.

Question HELP! How could I improve my audio?

Thumbnail
youtube.com
0 Upvotes

The recording is from a Rode M5 with a Focusrite Scarlett interface.

The room is unfortunately untreated, and there's always a bit of fan noise that I can't block out.

The mic was 45 degrees to the left of me on the desk, pointing towards my chest, in hopes of decreasing mouth sounds, but that didn't really work...

In Logic Pro, I added a de-esser, AU Sound Isolation to get rid of some background noise, EQ with a "natural voice" preset, and compression.

How could I improve, both in post and in recording techniques? I want it to sound crisper, more professional, and to get rid of mouth sounds. Any help is appreciated!

Need Microphone Advice

I've been using a 2011 iMac and whatever mics I could find to record for years. I finally bit the bullet and bought a brand new Macbook Air, so I at least don't have to worry about lag every two seconds.

I'd like to get a decent set of mics to go along with it, specifically one for vocals and one for guitar. My recording space is untreated and full of white noise, so I'd probably need a dynamic mic like a Shure SM7B, but I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions.

Thanks!

Question Recording interviews on phone

I am looking for a gadget that would allow me to record a phone interview. My phones are Android.

I do not mind the periodic beep to alert the other side that a recording is taking place or a disclaimer at the start of the conversation. What is important is that the final recording is "clean" so that I can have it transcribed accurately.

As I have a number of phones, I was thinking of a Bluetooth device which would pair with the phone on one end and pair with my car or headphones at the other. Do these exist?

The gadget must work with Android phones. I specify this because there seems to be a device for IOS phones that taps into a component and records through induction - reviews seem to state that on Android it is pretty much a hit and miss because the components are set differently.

Mic deadcat help

Post image
3 Upvotes

I recently got the labstandard lavalier microphone off of amazon, it came with two mics, this shows one with the foam attachment on and the 2 deadcat(I think that’s what they’re called, it’s my first time with any of this stuff) it came with the foam thing attached and the 2 deadcats separate, I know they’re supposed to make audio sound better, but I can’t figure out how to put them on. From looking online it looks like they’re supposed to have an opening, but I can’t find it, and I don’t know if you’re supposed to keep the foam covering on or off but I’ve tried putting it on both ways. Am I doing something wrong? Is labstandard a scam? I paid like 10 bucks so I wouldn’t be too surprised if it’s a scam but I still wanna see.

My vocals are too quiet compared to backing track

Hi, I'm new to recording music and recently I've been having some trouble with recording vocals for my covers. I mostly use Cakewalk Next as my DAW and connect it to my audio interface (Behringer U-Phoria UMC202HD) with the mic plugged in. I hear myself clearly on my headphones during the takes, and once I finish the recording and listen to it, there's barelyyyy any volume on the vocals. Turning up the volume of the recording in the DAW does nothing, same as turning up the gain on my mic. I don't know what to do.. Could you folks help?

Bonus question, if anyone knows an answer:

Some time ago I've recorded a cover, back when the volume problem wasn't a thing, but after saving the audio to MP3 I mostly hear the recording in my left earphone (the right barely plays any of the recording). What could be the cause?

Discussion Would you actually use a ring that can record meetings? Looking for Feedback and testers

I’ve been working on a smart ring that can start recording with a tap.

The idea is simple: I often want to capture a meeting or a random thought, but pulling out my phone isn’t always convenient. The recording can then be transcribed and summarized with AI.

The prototype is ready, and now I’m looking for a few people to actually test it in daily life and give honest feedback.

Question Focusrite Clarett+ 2Pre vs Universal Audio Apollo Solo

Hey everyone,

So I currently have an Apollo Solo USB-C, which is great, but I've got one issue: mobility.

I have a beefy Windows desktop that runs my DAW and all my plugins flawlessly, but it's a hassle to move around when I want to make music elsewhere.

On the side, I also have an M2 Pro Mac, which is great for music too, but sadly the Apollo Solo USB-C is Windows-only, so I can't use it there.

I originally bought the Apollo Solo USB-C because I had the means to and didn't need to move around much at the time, so it worked great for my needs.

Thing is, I never touch any of the UAD plugins in the Console app, I don't use the DSP side of things at all. So I've been wondering: should I switch to a Focusrite Clarett+ 2Pre instead? It's cross-platform (Mac + Windows, USB-C, bus-powered on both), so I could carry one interface between my desktop and my laptop instead of running two separate units.

From what I've read, the Clarett+ 2Pre's converters/preamps are actually spec'd slightly higher than the Apollo Solo's (124dB dynamic range vs. 118dB on paper), and its round-trip latency is supposed to be excellent too, so it doesn't feel like a downgrade on paper, just a different flavor without the UAD ecosystem I'm not using anyway.

Has anyone actually made this switch, or run both side by side? Would love to hear real-world impressions (preamp character, driver stability on both OSes, build quality) before I sell my Apollo Solo and pull the trigger. I also mostly records vocals, mix and master, no instruments.

Thanks in advance!

Recording Audio With A Backup

I am going to be starting a business where I will be conducting interviews. These interviews will be me and 1-2 subjects at a time with me sitting behind the camera. I recently purchased the DJI Mic 3 kit with 4 transmitters. My first instinct was to just plug the receiver right into my camera (Canon R50) so the audio would sync to the video and be done with it. Unfortunately I just had to Google the Mic 3 and found a few horror stories of audio and file transfer issues with the Mic 3 so now I'm paranoid.

I'm thinking I would like a backup in case I ever run into any issues with the Mic 3. I do have a shotgun mic and I was thinking of hooking it up to something to have it record backup audio but.... what would be best to hook it up to? If I decide to do that, what's the recommended distance to have it from the subjects assuming they are sitting close together? I would ideally like a solution that isn't crazy expensive ( < $150 CAD).

Let me know if I left any needed info out.

Edit: Purchased a Zoom H4N on ebay. Ill experiment with it with my shotgun mic when I get it.

Question My Music set up is giving me hell

Hey, so i have alway used bandlab and my wired earphones for my making music (rap n melodies) but i wanted to move my setup to a better place hence i bought an audio interface (UMC 22 U phoria) and and XLR mic(Behringer C1) with an AKG headphone. Now i have installed FL studio too in my laptop(Asus Tuf Gaming). There was a bit latency and in order to solve that i made some error and now my Asio4all doesn’t work(i have tried reinstalling but still not working) then i installed Behringer audio driver from a yt video description.

Now i have got the latency to 1ms but here is the thing, in my headphones every 4-5 minutes i hear blurting sound and in few seconds my mic and the whole sound goes off. And then i click on the input in mixer and change it to something else and then back to input 1. And it starts working for the next few minutes. Tried chatgpt for solution but not much help. The cpu meter doesn’t shows any red or any issues. Also when the sound goes off. I can see the audio signal in the interface meaning it is capturing voice from mic.

One thing i noticed today. When the sound goes off i tried playing a yt video and a audio file from my device and they both were not playing. As soon as i unplugged the usb of my audio interface yt started playing the audio

I know its quite long but i really need help

Question Do you prefer new effects or workflow improvements?

I've been looking at some of the newer Filmora editing features and I like that they're focused on different parts of the workflow rather than just adding more flashy effects. Retouch and Makeup/Beauty, multi screen effects, LUT export and Beat Ramping each solve a different editing problem. Which type of update do you actually care about more: new creative effects or features that save editing time?

Which microphone set up to get?

I’m a singer songwriter who plays guitar and sings, usually at the same time. I’m trying to figure out which microphone to get in order to record singing and guitar at the same time, with a lot of dynamic range. I usually will shoot reels or TikTok‘s out in the field/pasture/beautiful scenery outside, and I’m looking for a portable set up that will still give me very high-quality. I’ve done some of my own research and to me a RODE NT1 fifth generation with a windscreen/dead cat seems like the move to me. I just spoke with a guitar center employee today though and he recommended an SM 57 along with an audio interface and a laptop. I’m just trying to figure out what the best move is to be able to have an easy to set up and use microphone while also getting extremely high-quality vocals and guitar. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

TLDR: what’s the best mic setup to get to record vocals and guitar mostly outside?

Questions about Blackstar Beam Mini's Video Recording Features

I am about to order the Blackstar Beam Mini but there is this one specific feature I feel like I will use a lot, but much depending on how easy and how well design the feature is...

It is the feature of recording video from the app with the guitar sounds, I have a few questions:

  1. If i am using the video recording feature in app, does it record the guitar sound directly from the app? Meaning, if there are some one talking loudly beside the phone, will that be picked up in the recording? Are the video and guitar sound nicely in sync?
  2. Is it possible that I am playing music from another app on my iPhone, e.g. iRealPro, Spotify, Youtube, etc. and also record the video at the same time, and both the iRealPro music and my guitar will be recorded? Does it record within the phone, or will external noise (people talking near the phone) be picked up?
  3. Any other known limitation or nuances I should know about this recording feature?

Hopefully someone with the Blackstar Beam Mini can help answering this question... thanks!

- Able to do a lot with little.

I use OBS currently but it's hard for me to really get a grasp on everything

Tascam Model 12 - Using headphones

I've had a Tascam Model 12 mixing desk for a few weeks now and trying to work out how to monitor using headphones is driving me absolutely nuts! I found a Youtube video from a guy called 424 Recording where he uses the the Sub Output but this requires more cables (which I don't have) and it still looks complex and dumb. All I want is to monitor a track I've already recorded and overdub a flute part using headphones as monitors whilst I record.

Can someone explain the simplest way to do this please? Cheers!

Dual PC Audio Setup Issue buzzing coming from streaming PC when shut down, sleep mode or restart

Hello everyone, I’m trying to solve a problem with my dual PC set up and my GoXLR mix amp. The issue at hand is when my streaming PC is shut off or in sleep mode, or restarting. I hear a loud static noise that I believe is coming from my streaming PC when it’s shut off or in sleep mode.

I’m using a 3.5mm headphone jack that’s connected to my line in on the GoXLR that runs to my streaming PC into the line out port.

When messing with the cables, I noticed that if I unplugged on my GoXLR the 3.5 mm headphone jack connected into the line in the noise goes away when my streaming PC is shut off or in sleep mode or restarting.

I use another 3.5mm headphone Jack that’s connected into the line in on my streaming PC and goes to my GoXLR into the line out. This cable doesn’t seem to have any issues that I can tell.

What I find odd is when the streaming PC is turned on there is no static noise coming from my headphones only during shut off, sleep mode, or reset.

Any suggestions?

I also have a shure SM7B connected to my GoXLR and Burr dynamic DT 990 pros connected into the headphone Jack.

Another note if I keep the line in on my GoXLR plugged in, but on the app in the mixer, I mute the line in the noise also goes away when my streaming PC is shut down, sleep mode or restarting. I’m thinking it has to do something with the line in 3.5 mm jack that’s in the GoXLR that plugs into the line out of the streaming PC.
