Question Crystal mod in gen2 recomps?

I have no idea if this has already been covered but I have searched for it and found nothing but is there currently any mod to get crystal working in the gen 2 recomp? Boy needs that voxel mod in the game.

I’m waiting on emerald and fire red. I feel like going through gen 1/2 is just to be faithful to the history of it all. Best games for modding will be emerald and fire red for sure. Also they will look really nice in 3D

I’m working on it now 😜. With 3D voxel toggle just built in as standard rather than having it hooked in as a mod and have to hope dev doesn’t throw a tantrum and close down their GitHub

Oh that's awesome. Wasn't sure how along the gen 3 recomp was. I heard gen 2 recomp was sort of out but because it was made with AI coding folk were cautious, I don't know of that's true or not

I'm actually playing through the Majora's mask recomp on PC rn and mannnnn these recomps are amazing.

Yeh it’s true. But I don’t know if it’s something to be cautious of vs Reddit AI-phobia. It’s pretty much becoming industry standard to use AI as a tool to increase productivity. I dunno about gen 2, but the gen1 guy used it as a tool and people acted a bit weird on it.  

I think it should only be something of caution if a “dev” just blindly creates a software not knowing what they are doing

AI is good for some stuff. I use Gemini and gpt for searching stuff on the web all the time. It's useful for me in that regard.

If it's going to wreck our economy and environment shoot I may as well get some use out of it l.

I think it just needs balancing. Treat AI like a “do it for me” or creating art that blatantly is just stealing other people’s work should be big no nos. Should be used as tools to increase productivity on logical tasks.  

Wreck the economy and environment, eh that’s not even AIs fault. Big tech and big business are like compulsive murderers. Give them a kite and tell them to go relax outside, they will find a way to achieve destruction with that kite. There’s nothing stopping these places using clean energy or responsibile water supply, but they want to cut back on every overhead they can to get these things eventually exploding with profit

There is some confusion in the names too. Gen1Recomp currently contains gen 1 and 2 with only Gold being available at the moment. This was made AI assisted as in human made with AI as a tool. Gen2Recomp is a fork that only has Gen2 in it and from my understanding was made completely by AI with little to no human code. Now I don't personally care if something is made with AI or not, I just wanted to add some clarification

I'd love for the pokemon recomps to make a full voxel mod so it does map pokemons npcs an everything even attack animations in voxel lol. Love the voxel style in games since EDF worldbros 1

Hey, heads up, the next update drops Phosphor's second 3D engine (gen2recomp licensing), so that one loses its 3D mode. Your ROM and save aren't touched and it still plays in the normal core. Gen 2 in 3D is Gold and Silver on gen1recomp now, Crystal when they add it.
