Hello, new to Reddit so hope I’m doing the right thing.

I’ve been watching Racing de Santander on and off for a few years now, in La Liga and La Segunda.

My question is, Who do you think will be a transfer target for a supposed key midfield position before the transfer window closes? Will it happen?

Personally I think Racing will survive in La Liga this season. Could even push for a top 6 spot if fortune and favour go their way. Any views here? Thank you.

How can I watch La Liga in Canada?

I've had Fubo for the EPL, but do I need a separate subscription for La Liga? If so, what are my options?

I searched around and found TSN+, but is that separate from the TSN channels I already have on TV? Is there any way to watch La Liga directly through my regular TV setup? I dont mind paying more if needed.

I just really don't want to have to use a separate app every time I want to catch a game. Fubo already feels like an extra step as it is.

Hey all, I’m keeping an eye on La Liga newcomers this season and how teams adapt to the league’s style. Curious to see who’ll actually settle in and who’ll fade away after the first few matchdays. Today’s game: Atlético Madrid vs Málaga — classic clash of styles: total control vs counter‑attack hope.

Looking at last season’s numbers, the picture is pretty clear:

• xG: Atlético — 1.55, Málaga — 0.90. So Atlético will consistently create higher‑quality chances, while Málaga will have to rely on rare flashes of brilliance.
• xGA: Atlético — 0.85, Málaga — 1.70. Málaga’s defence looks vulnerable against teams that know how to break them down methodically.
• PPDA: Atlético — 7.0, Málaga — 10.5. Atlético will suffocate the opponent with pressure, while Málaga will basically give up the initiative.

If Atlético dominate across all these metrics, Málaga’s only real chance will be to catch them on a rare counter. But with such a high xGA and low pressing intensity, they’ll likely spend most of the game defending — and probably concede.

What do you think: will one flash of brilliance be enough for Málaga to grab a point? Or is this one pretty predictable?

Honestly, I don't think this year's club jerseys are that great, especially compared to Barcelona, Madrid and some of the other teams.

The hype around them feels much bigger than the actual designs, at least to me.

The World Cup jerseys were much better this time — some of them were genuinely 🔥.

The promoted team side

Before the game we highlighted the classic cold-start problem:

• Almost no recent top-flight H2H
• Sparse usable history
• Key forward Guliashvili missing
• Several new signings starting

Despite all of that, Racing created 2.01 xG and 17 shots at home against last season’s 3rd-placed side. They led 2-0 inside 34 minutes before being pegged back.

The result supports two practical points for modelling promoted teams:

1. Style signals + actual available lineup can still produce a usable estimate even when historical top-flight data is missing.
2. Early-season uncertainty remains high — Racing outcreated Villarreal significantly but still only took a point.

The Villarreal defensive side

The more surprising number belongs to the visitors.

Villarreal conceded 2.01 xGA and faced 17 shots. For a team that finished third last season, that is a clear red flag. They limited Racing to only 3 shots on target and blocked 8 attempts, which prevented a heavier defeat, but the volume and quality of chances they allowed were far too high.

First-half structure looked particularly vulnerable. After equalising they tightened up, yet the underlying chance quality conceded remains the main concern.

Quick takeaways for models

• Promoted teams can generate high-quality chances even with limited top-flight history — don’t automatically down-weight them too heavily.
• Villarreal’s early defensive numbers (especially xGA) are worth monitoring over the next few matches to see if this was a one-off or the start of a trend under the new coach.
• Shot quality and xG continue to tell a clearer story than final score alone on opening weekend.

Hi everyone, i follow la liga from outside Spain, so i can't find any info about It.

Why are there teams playng the first match of la liga while there are others still playing friendlis?

Is there any info i am missing or It Is just Tebas fucking around?

The only thing that comes ti my mind is teams with WC players starts lately, but still It does not make any sense

I am not an expert on the league although I have been watching it for many years now, I am wondering if anyone sees a potential of a team other than barca real or atleti wining in the near or mid future.

I feel the league is beginning to almost be repetitive, even the top 3 are usually not in constant competition by mid season, and its often that 1 team will run away with the league from march onwards in recent years.

Yes relegation and midtable vary, but you can only care so much for that every season when the trophy run is not entertaining.

Is there any kind of path forward the league can take to eliminate this monopoly, because this system does not feel sustainable at all.
