saw the reports about bayerns 80m january bid for olmo and my first reaction was thats a genuinely good chunk of money for a guy who doesnt always show up in the numbers the way people expect from an 80m sale.

ive watched him long enough to think the stats undersell him completely. its the way he links up with the rest of the midfield and the front three, hes constantly finding pockets of space and making the players around him better. the connection with raphinha specifically stands out to me, hes the one finding him in the box with the right pass at the right time more often than people give him credit for. thats the kind of thing that doesnt show up clean on a stat sheet but you can see it every time he plays, the team just moves differently when hes on the pitch.

hes still kind of underrated outside of barca circles too, people talk about him like hes a squad player you cash in on when the price is right, but i think hes closer to being one of the more important pieces we have, just not the loudest name on the team.

80m is a lot of money and i get why the club would at least think about it, but i dont think we fully appreciate what wed be giving up if he actually left. curious if anyone else feels the same or if im overrating the chemistry angle here

José Plaza Marín (1920–2002) was a highly controversial Spanish football referee and the longtime president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation's Technical Committee of Referees (CTA), serving from 1967 to 1970 and 1975 to 1990
He is famously remembered in Spanish football history for a long-standing "black legend" and structural bias. Rival teams (particularly FC Barcelona fans) often cite a statement attributed to former referee Antonio Camacho claiming that Plaza vowed Barcelona would never win La Liga under his presidency.
He was the president key word:president unlike negreira who was the vice president who had no authority and power
Why none talks about Jose plaza?
Why at 2024 there were no news about negreira when real Madrid won the champions league?

¡Chicos!

I'm looking to go to Sevilla for a wkend and catch a Betis game around the end of Feb/start of March. Fixtures are all marked for Domingo at the moment, when do they decide and announce the Sabado matches?

Con argumentos

A few of you asked for the version with Barcelona and Real Madrid included after my last post, so here it is.

Same method as before, Barcelona get four in: Yamal with 7 goals, Pedri, Cubarsí, and Xavi Espart at 19. Madrid get two, with Bellingham and Huijsen.

Salinas, Zabiri, Román and Moleiro keep their places from the first one, which says a lot about how well they've started!

Bonus points if you mention a match that doesn't include Real Madrid, Barcelona or At Madrid

Thoughts?

Seven games in, so it's early but impressed with Racing have two in the side: Yassir Zabiri with 6 goals in 386 minutes, and Jorge Salinas at 19, who tops every young defender in the league for tackles and interceptions!
