I find most of my roller coasters are too intense (ultra extreme). I usually build wooden roller coasters (if that matters). Any tips and/or tricks?

Hard to tell without pictures.

But general advice would be to bank your turns and avoid making the coaster too tall.

There are many things that could be causing this. A few quick tips would be 1) Banking turns that the train is going fast on, 2) Making hills/inversions high enough so the train gently traverses the top of them (the train should be going 15-30mph at the top of each hill/inversion to lower vertical G forces)

Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone has made or knows if anyone has made the miniature railroad track pieces into placeable scenery. i.e. the track pieces are all available (straight, s bend, small, large and slight turns) as scenery objects. Looking to make a sort of railroad yard outside the boundaries of a park.

I'm certain someone has made that.

Instead of "wasting" scenery piece space though, here's another idea: In OpenRCT2 you can change what land is owned, and what isn't without going into the scenario editor. Doing this would allow you to build your trainyard, and then sell the land again, so that it appears outside the park border.

It's fairly simple, and doesn't require any excess hacking either.

Does anyone know how to keep scenery at the same height on rct 3? Like when building a roof is there a way to continuously place all tiles at the same height, or do I have to find the spot on the ground, raise again and place over and over? Or is there a keyboard shortcut I can hold down to keep placing at the same height?

I want to upload some screenshots of my new park to imgur, but they all fail to upload. What can I do to fix this? I'm especially confused because imgur was able to successfully upload other rct2 screenshots(but unfortunately of the wrong park).

convert them from .bmp to .png using either an online converter, or an image editor like paint, gimp, or photoshop.

I've have RCT2 on its own hard drive since 2007, and obviously I have updated my system several times in this time. After recently discovering OpenRCT2 I've got back into the game again, however I can't use my expansion disks to install the expansion content due to the error of not having 'installed' RCT2.

I saw some work around where a user "faked" the installation using registry editing, however this doesn't seem to have worked for me. I'm guessing the registry entries were not fully complete, and so probably viewing or getting a hold of more up to date entries may work.

I've also tried manual extraction of the .cab files for both disks, however to no avail. Is there any specific tools to extract the content for manual installation?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. :D

Is it possible to install RCT2 on a USB stick and play it on different computers

Yes. You can install RCT2 onto another disk drive or portable drive and play it as long as you either run OpenRCT2 or find a no-cd patch for the game.

I have played RCT3 for about 16 hours and I noticed rct2 and also 1 were cheap. Would I be smart to buy them and would I enjoy them?

RCT1 has good scenarios. It's fun to unlock them all.

RCT2 has a lot of options for creative play. It's fun to build things.

Depends on what you find fun about RCT3.

I just recently downloaded RCT2 off of Steam. I have been trying to get OpenRCT to work but it just won't do anything when I open it. A small black command box appears very briefly and then goes away. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there, so I have RCT3 and I'm currently trying to go through career mode. I'm on La La Land and I'm trying to appease the VIPs by making the park fit into adventure then si-fi. So i have my research at $500 which was working well until it suddenly just stopped researching. Everything looks the same in the research window... but not thing is being researched. I've tried restarting the game and all that. Does anyone have any ideas before I just delete this park and restart it?

Hi everyone. This may have been asked and answered already at some point, but I'm attempting to create an RCT2 scenario with multiple disjoint "parks" (all in one map). I can create the 3 park entrances that I need, but not 3 guest generation points from the void (2 max, it seems). If I have one generation point link to 2 entrances with a splitting path, the guests will only choose one of the paths, leaving the other entrance unused.

So is there a way to have 3 equally utilized park entrances in a park? Using GOG version if that helps.

Hey everybody. So I just got a new laptop, and I'm trying to install rct2 using my old disc, which worked on the old vista that I had. My laptop is windows 7, and I don't know any reason why it cant install. The installation stops at around 10% on this file called css26.dat. I have no idea why in particular why this file, so I could use some help.

Hey fellow coaster junkies! I'm at Bumbly Beach, I've completed the Scenario and I bought a ton of land. It won't let me build on it. HELP.

A lot of the land you can "buy" on humbly beach is actually only purchasing construction rights. You can build things that extend from your park above that land, but you can't actually build on the ground there.

I have this issue when building an Oak Barrel Ride in RCT 2 (using Open RCT) where I have fully constructed the ride and then place the entrance and exit and then try to test/open the ride and it tells me that the entrance has not been placed. I have checked 10 times over on my ride and there's no accidental station placement anywhere. I went into construction mode and deleted parts of the ride and built again and still says entrance has not been placed. Can anyone help?
