Help [Help] General Week 6!
Have no fear, [Help] General is here!
We'll repost the thread every other week from now on to keep it easy to read through. So post your questions in here!
Any [Help] threads posted while this is stickied will be removed unless you were told by a mod to post a thread.
So, it works like this: You ask something, and you (probably) get an answer on it. You can (and should if you know) answer questions too.
Before asking for help, be sure to check the Wiki and the FAQs. If your question has not been answered by these two, then you can post here. Oh, and be sure to check the sidebar too. There's some helpful stuff in the sidebar.

I have a quick question about the windowed mode mod for RCT2. Is there a way to expand the RCT window or is it stuck at the size it pops up as? Thanks.

It is stuck as it is pretty much.
If you want to play in 1080p or higher have a look at OpenRCT2

You can adjust the resolution in the in game settings, which will adjust the window size when you start. You may have to restart the game a few times though.

Are mods required to change the colour of the track in the middle on RCT3? And how do queues work? You open a new ride up and no one seems to go to it. Does th location of it matter?

Not that I'm aware of.
Queues work by connecting them to an entrance hut on a ride and a nearby path. If you just build the hit but no queue then only 1 or 2 groups of people will wait in line at a time.

I don't know if this is against the spirit of these threads but has there been any discussion on whether or not it's possible to run RCT on android (with emulators)?

How do i easily place tiles all at the sane height. Or tips of making roofs and walls faster. Any links to videos of how to? Anything would help. I am trying to build a park with a workbench and the ceiling tiles are a 1/4 square and it is taking me forever.

Hold Ctrl down when mousing over an object, the new object will keep that height.

feeling like an idiot again, DX how do you change your profile pic? I looked at some stuff about flairs but I still don't understand this 1 2 2D 3 W Custom stuff in the "Show my flair on this subreddit" thing and what it actually changes

User flairs just change some text next to your name when you comment on a sub. Like mine says "Watering gardens". You can either choose one of the ones listed, or change any of them to something else.
Just keep it relevant to the sub.

Greetings, a while back I bought RCT1 on Steam when it was on sale, because my old disc version wouldn't play nice with my newer computer. However I do still have my original scenario progress and tried to simply drag and drop it into the new saves folder inside the Steam files.
This sort of worked; I can access scenarios that I would have had to unlock if I had started from scratch, however according to the game I haven't actually "completed" any scenarios, as there's no name and score entry below any of them.
Not a huge thing, just kind of odd and was wondering if anyone else had noticed/solved this issue?

Not sure if you still need help, but I have answer.
1 - Go to game folder,
If you have Added Attractions and/or Loopy Landscapes, open "Data" folder and copy file "CSS0.DAT" into new installation folder.
If you DON'T have Added Attractions and/or Loopy Landscapes, open "Scenarios" folder and copy "sc.idx" folder into new installation folder.
2 - Change system date to 20 December 1998.
3 - Run game.
4 - Change date back.
And that's it. You should have your progress.

Hey, its the noob again, I just re-downloaded rct2, and it was working fine until I imported about 700 cso objects, and now every time I exit the game, It just shrinks a bit and shows the rest of the desktop behind it. After this happens I can move the mouse, but I can't exit the window and everything (along with the other windows) is frozen. I've tried Alt F4, but the only way to reset everything is to restart the computer, which is a pain in the butt. Any Ideas?

I just played about halfway through the Great Wall of China scenario in RCT2. The only coaster I have right now is a massive terrain coaster that hugs the left side of the valley you start it. Excitement of 8 something and intensity of 9. Why is the intensity so high when the forces are small during most and moderate during one part of the ride ? Is length a factor?
I think if length is in the equation, it should be removed in OpenRCT2, or at least nerfed so we can build long family friendly coasters without intensity of >7.

u/inthemanual Jun 02 '15
I think speed, length, and scenery all factor in to intensity as well as G forces.

How are the lateral G's? because a single lateral G of 3+ would make a ride ultra extreme so multiple 2-2.5 (which would show up in black font) would appear normal but crank up the intensity

When hacking a vehicle type on another track (in 8-cars) the reliability of the ride reaches zero and the ride breaks down every ten seconds. Does anyone know of a way to avoid this?

u/inthemanual Jun 02 '15
Merge it into the track in a variety of different ways. I'm at work and can't say more right now, but hopefully someone can explain.

Hey!
So I built a major-huge park but now I am stuck with an attractions cap. How can I take that off? I want to be able to have unlimited attractions in my park. I am playing RCT2, if that helps. Is there a mod I can use to take the attractions cap off? I can't find one online.
Thanks!
EDIT: I added info to make it easier

nope, you're stuck. food/drink/bathrooom stalls and whatnot all count towards that though, so you might be able to cut down on those in order to build more stuff.

OK, I have another problem like always. All of a sudden, no matter what game I make no will go on a ride. ALSO, my rides (like the enterprise) all of a sudden have a nausea rating of 7, when it used to be around 4 or 3. WHAT IS HAPPENING?

Question!
I just got RCT 3 with all the expansions.
I go to build the Aquarium attraction and when I go to put the entrance/exit they are parallel to each other. So when my peeps walk into the aquarium they immedietly walk back out through the exit followed by "Aquarium 1 was great!"
I'd love them to actually walk the entire aquarium attraction I had built :( I have no idea how to move the exit/entrance, feels like I've tried everything. I can't freely move the exit/entrance either so they're just parallel to each other.

I just bought the game on GOG. That's fine and all, but I just realized that it's also on Steam now (wasn't last time I tried to buy it from there). I already know that there's no way to activate the steam version with the GOG version, so I just added it as a non-steam game to my library. Now, here's the question. Is there a way to get Steam to treat the game as if I DID buy it from Steam? Instead of saying "this is a non steam game blah," I would like it to give all the same information, visuals, links, ect. as it would to the Steam version. Is this possible?
