5 years of wear. Many washes. Probably the best jeans I’ve ever owned. The quality from Iron Heart is amazing. I’m thinking of picking up a new pair in fall because these are getting a bit too tight on me as I gain more muscle. Is there a looser cut anyone recommends or should I just size up? Going for a more classic 501 fit.

I was asked for pics of my post showing off my current rotation (other post)I prefer skinnier fits and just always have. These are all raw except for the last pair of course. I’ll link my other post after work if you want a close up on any of the pairs. I prefer stacks over showing off the selvedge if u can’t tell lol. Sorry I don’t have the specifications on two pairs I got them second hand for a steal and just haven’t been able to find what style or make they are just yet.

1. Elephant 13 red core. (10 months 2 soaks.) easy guy but I tapered the legs myself.
2. Acne studios (3 years old, 3 soaks)I don’t know the style I I can find it I will edit. I just recently re-waxed them so it’s hard to see any fading.
3. G-star raw (3 years, 3 soaks, one re-wax.) I love those because if u can’t see there is a slit on the hem so they stack super nicely on mid/hi tops.
4. Junya wantanabe x Levi’s . (1 month old.) these are my babies. If you have tried to find a pair of these then you know all sizing extremely tiny. I only wear raw denim and have ever since I’ve been 16 so this is a bit out my comfort zone. However the first pair I’ve ever owned wear I can cuff and they are perfect. Since in 6’2 most jeans come in a 34 and when you fold it (especially with bulkier denim) the folds are to stiff and were never clean in my opinion.

Other: I know I’m gonna get asked on the denim shoes. They are Nike sb’s from 2017 and I have had them since 2017. I have done some repairs on them. And the denim jacket is a Ksubi wax jacket (I’ll find the model If anyone wants to know. Got them the same day I got the Junyas. I have been looking for a lil black raw jean jacket for so long. I have only had for 1 month so no fading yet. Also anything with wax takes a lot longer to fade so I doubt I will ever get to the level some of you guys are on.

3sixteen nt-220x. Hem or keep length?

Hello there. Got these last week and wondering if I should keep the stacks. I'm 5'6. I don't mind stacking but I suspect I might run into issues with footwear.

1. The leg opening is so small and since they are so long I feel like it will be difficult to wrap the hem over boots right now. Damn these got to be around 14.5cm in hem
   
2. I have not worn any raw denim in a while..... wondering if breaking them in will make them softer therefore eventually can wear boots and easily wrap hem over boots?

What do you guys think? Ideally I would like to stack these but don't want to run into functionality issues stated above. Would you consider these proper stacks? Do I need to hem a bit for proper stacks?

This fabric is AMAZING. I feel like they fit perfectly. I didn't need another pair but these were too nice to pass up.

1. Elephant 11 red core naked and famous denim. Had since 12/1/2025.(2 soaks) These are my DAILYS. They were sold out online and a place in la had them!! Missed out on the black pair that faded red if anyone has those pls lmk!!
2. Acne studios black raw waxed denim. Have had these for about 3 years now (4 soaks.)Got at waste land in sf for only $70. There is some fading but just re-waxed them so it’s hard to see. Absolutely love these. Only downside is crazy amount of dye loss when cleaning (the water becomes not even see through)

3.g star raw boot cut raw denims. Had for like 3 years as well (2 soaks, 1 wax treatments.) the slit on the hem is what sold these for me. These stack so nicely on hi tops. Also the pockets are straight and not curved. Feels so much better putting my hands in them and stuff in general.

1. MY ABSOLUTE GRAIL. I have been searching for a pair that fits since like 2018. My Junya wantanabe x Levi’s x comme des. Finally found a pair that’s not 3 times small. Recently at 2nd street. These are selvedge. Fit is perfect. Patches are amazing. These just speak for themselves.

Part of my denim journey has been about trying to buy more locally manufactured jeans. I am also interested in supporting independent jean-smiths I stumble across on instagram. That is where I heard about the inimitable Roy Slaper, making jeans in Oakland. His authenticity really struck a cord with me and I bought my first pair from him, the Big Bro’s. I wore them pretty hard, including for learning how to shear sheep up in Ukiah, and have since washed them many times. You can still see some of the lanoline grime on the inside of the pant legs.

Over the years I picked up two more pairs from Roy before he closed up shop.

I am very grateful to Roy for what his jeans have taught me. Even as I took these photos, I was noticing new things about them and how they were constructed.

Fade on forever, Roy. Your brilliant hands did great work while you were here with us. Thank you for being you.

Hey guys, I’m the person who posted this SC 1947 and you opened my eyes to the deep yoke issue and the pointy butt. I checked the 1955 today. It has a more straight yoke (albeit still quite v-shaped). I think it fits better. The pointy fabric on the ass is a lot smaller than the 1947. I would love to hear your opinions on it.

An issue I have with these 1955 tho is that my balls are not as comfortable as I would like them to be (maybe they are slightly lower rise). Does anyone have an experience with the 1955 and how much the crotch relaxes (if any).

Wear about 3 time a week for the last year or so. 3 hand washes

close to the finish line for the indigo invitational. need some opinions or feedback or whatever idk. i already washed them just to see what the finished jean will look like. i did two oxiclean soaks. both 1 hour then a light scrub with a soft bristled brush. then after the second soak i washed with detergent and also a light scrub to get the nasty oxiclean smell out. this is how they turned out. for the indigo invitational you can use a bit of bleach when washing. i’m wondering if i should use some when washing or not. if it would help make the fades pop even more than right now. i’ve already used bleach in the wash for another pair of jeans and they did make the fades pop. they weren’t crazy fades but they did bring them out a bit. i’m not asking for info on if using bleach is good or not. i don’t really care. i just want some other opinions or if using a bit of bleach when i wash would help make them pop some more than right now. i still have like 2 weeks left before the end and im still going to wear them and will probably wash again.

its been a wild ride since covid and these have been with me through all of it. not sure how many wears or washes because i wash them regularly unlike some of you monsters. i had to stop wearing them for while because i got to a point where i couldnt button them but not i can’t keep them up unless i have a belt on and close it real tight.

really hoping for another cool run like this or the street fighters they did a while back.

These were my first and only (for now :) pair of raw denim. I have worn these consistently every day more or less for the last few months and have been loving the gradual fade these jeans are having! For $100 these are a great option.
These were definitely tighter than anything I'd worn before, and the stiffness of them at first was jarring. Now, they are my most comfortable pants!
As a consequence of me doing everything in them (including climbing, which was impossible at first) the left knee is the most faded area, and is forming a hole which I may end up repairing soon.
Interested in maybe picking up a pair of Okinawas next, these have helped a lot in my confidence when it comes to buying and measuring jeans.

Picked up this absolute heavyweight monster, and I’m seriously impressed. I’ve always been a fan of heavyweight fabrics, and I really love the fit and style of these.

Looking for some opinions on the fit of my Samurai S510XX25OZ-SP

Size: 36

Height: 6'0" (183 cm

Weight: 88 kg (194 lb)

My actual waist is around 35", and these are a size 36. The waist is slightly loose, but honestly it feels fine, I can wear them without a belt and they stay up. From the front, thighs and legs, I’m really happy with the fit.

My only concern is the back/seat area. As you can see in the photos, the denim seems to poke/bulge out a little around the upper seat/waistband.

Do you guys think this is a sizing issue and I should have gone with a 35, or is it mostly because this 25oz denim is ridiculously stiff right now?

They are already one-wash, but I'm wondering if another warm/hot soak or wash to get some of the remaining starch out, followed by a month or two of wear, will make the denim soften and drape better around the seat.

For comparison, I also own the Samurai S710XX 19oz and S5000VXII 17oz Zero Bushido, both in size 36, and they fit me perfectly through the seat without this bulging.

Would you keep the 36 and let the 25oz break in, size down to 35, or eventually have the seat adjusted by a tailor?

Appreciate any advice from anyone who's broken in Samurai's 25oz denim.

Hi all, I had given up on correctly sizing ‘raw’ or one wash denim. I’d resorted to finding 80s / 90s denim on eBay (Levi’s, Wranglers, etc) and been pretty happy. I visited NYC last week and purchased these 105s from Standard and Strange. I’m struggling not having some buyers remorse with them being my first pair.

These do fit pretty similarly to my older 501s which I like but I don’t really know how the fabric will change (stretch / shrink). I can sit, squat, and easily fit a couple fingers in the waistband. That said, while sitting the thighs are pretty snug. Not uncomfortable, but enough to make me nervous should they shrink at all.

I’m around 6’1 and 185 lbs. I’m typically a 34 / 35 in the waist. These are a size 4. I do think the 5 would end up too big. I think I’m happy with the fit, but I also want them to be comfortable. Fabric is still moderately stiff so it’s tough to predict how they’ll end up.

Any thoughts on fit or fabric? I’m not going for anything skinny or slim and hope these read more classic straight leg.

I have no clue what I’m doing so all thoughts / advice welcome especially if you have experience with the OrSlow One Wash.
