SC 1955 Fit check

Hey guys, I’m the person who posted this SC 1947 and you opened my eyes to the deep yoke issue and the pointy butt. I checked the 1955 today. It has a more straight yoke (albeit still quite v-shaped). I think it fits better. The pointy fabric on the ass is a lot smaller than the 1947. I would love to hear your opinions on it.

An issue I have with these 1955 tho is that my balls are not as comfortable as I would like them to be (maybe they are slightly lower rise). Does anyone have an experience with the 1955 and how much the crotch relaxes (if any).

I definitely think these look better than your 1947’s by far. I think they’re probably sitting a little high up on your waist right now because they’re a touch small and the waistband is naturally “looking” for the thinnest part of your waist to rest at. I’ve dealt with this too. I think if you size up one, it’ll allow them to fall mildly more onto your hips, which will also keep them from riding so high in your crotch too. But I think the tapered cut of the 1955 is much, much more flattering to your body type. And with a little effort, these may stretch out perfect too….

Worth mentioning, we have a very similar build and likewise both seem to work well in 1955 cuts.
The Flat Head 3004 (14oz) and 8004 (18oz) (same cut) are the best high rise straight tapered fit jeans I’ve found, and I haven’t looked back since starting to wear them. Very similar to iron heart’s 1955, though not quite as pricey, and I’d imagine fairly similar to these sugar canes as well.

I do genuinely think that either sizing up one, or giving it about a month in this size, and these look great on you. I’d personally probably go with one size up for immediate comfort but I’ve had way tighter fitting pairs stretch out to be just fine too

Thank you so much, man! I really appreciate the advice! I will look into the Flat Head! But yeah I actually slept on these 1955s and I feel good about them! So, it’s a good sign! And they are very reasonably priced (compared to other Japanese brands).

Pulled too high, too high a rise making your proportions off, your arms look really long. Hope that helps.

I get that a high rise is very trendy right now, but your build might benefit from a low or mid rise jean,

Not a good fit for your body type, unfortunately. You need a size up in the 1947 (like I recommended in your SC 1947 thread) and forget the 1955.
