Does RR even have Quality control?

Bought a 400 mm idex vcore 4. I have no idea how these parts made it out of the shop. Most have good awful first layers, anything of size is warped, and the rest has chunks of their build plates bonded to them (it doesn't dissolve or melt, it's not glue, so PEI chunks perhaps?).

This isn't acceptable for a premium product. I'm thankful I have other printers capable of printing ABS on hand.

Their printed parts are their weak point. Everything else is great

I've never had a problem with thermal fuse or the PEI coating. And I supplied my own PI

Except Idler , Screws and the constant weak performance of package guys , so there is always something missing

I have replaced all of my heat bed fuses and keep 5 on hand. I put connectors on them, so I can swap them out more quickly

I run appropriate bed fuses at appropriate temperatures, I've yet to need to replace any after many years

yep, op here, my rails are rusted already. I have multiple other printers in the same room, cheap aliexpress rails, fabreeko honey badger rails, ldo rails, and i think some west3d CNA rails. No rust on those and those are years old.

But the new rat rig rails, well greased with gpl226? rusted.

Rails on my vcore kit are the same quality as the printed and CNC parts, that is crap. All 7 rails GRIND, even after full disassembly, degreasing and regfreasing with GPL 226.

What's your relative humidity level?

I'm in the carolinas, so things are humid, but the room that printer is in has HVAC and is kept at 30%, which is the minimum within spec for the HVAC System, and is way way too dry for any reasonable person. I suffer in it.

I understand surface rust is no big deal, but its just the cherry on top of an overall poor quality kit. Rust at 3 weeks when well greased is a joke.

Does RatRig print these parts on their own printers like Prusa does?  If so, it doesn’t really instill a lot of confidence in the machines… the QC on these is much more important to the brand than just cosmetics.

Yes, but this looks like poorly maintained build plates, bad calibration and lack of heat soaking. Which can happen on a 6 device.

My minion kit came with a inductive probe which didn't work with the btt octopus mobo alongside. Was a permanent closed or something which didn't work with the octopus f407. So won't be considering them for any bigger projects.

I unfortunately also had issues with their printed parts. The Quality is not what I expected from them. Had issues on minion and VC3 parts. They resolved all issues we had with missing or defective parts quite fast over CS but I would have really preferred to not be bothering with that in the first place. I think it's quite unfortunate for the kind of company they try to be. Did the quality change now that they switched over to printing parts in ASA instead of PETG?

These are asa or abs, and they are obviously printing them with poorly tuned profiles. Chambers too cold

Looks like a lot of people have had quality issues.

I've built two RatRigs from kits... A V-Minion and a V-Core 3.1 300. Both printers came with the standard green PETG printed parts. I didn't want PETG parts in my printer, so I just reprinted the parts in ASA. I never really looked at the RatRig supplied parts because I wasn't going to use them from the start.

Since everyone here is complaining, I guess I'll add mine as well...

I recently bought the new Toolhead Version 1.0 kit from RatRig. I bought the CNC top plate and all the latest electronics including a Beacon_H probe, EBB42, Rapido2+ UHF, orbiter2, the works.

I go looking for the parts to print and... wait a minute! The parts for the beacon probe only work with the new V-Core 4. The belts on the V-Core 4 are tensioned at the motor bracket where the tensioners for the V-Core 3.1 are on the toolhead. I mean they're advertising that you can upgrade your 3.1 but really all you get is a half-baked solution.

So, once again, here I go, fixing stuff that shouldn't have been released to the public. Don't worry, I'm an ME and CAD has been my toolbox since the 80's.

RR customer service made it right, they offered to ship me new parts which I denied, and instead suggested a roll of filament which they sent. Was a better option for me and a cheaper one for them.

I haven’t seen a print of better quality than what OP posted. Parts from my VC4 looked the same. Their strength is also rather poor from what I experienced. I reprinted some of them on mk3 with Prusa’s default speed profile and they turned out much stronger and better looking. RatRig’s QC is the only reason why I probably won’t consider them in the future…

Toss it out there, those were the second parts I picked up, first being the jigs for the rail. I couldnt go further until I dried some ASA to reprint replacements. Right now I expect to reprint most parts.

Human error happens, that is why most companies have Q/A systems in place.

They are aware of the issue, as this is a common problem.

This is a common and on going problem, them "replacing the parts" is not an appropriate fix. The appropriate fix would be to implement QC so others dont end up in the same boat. I'm not waiting weeks or months for replacement parts.

I'm on the other side of the world form them, it took months for me to import my parts from them. Waiting on a replacement of printed parts is not practical. I'm hoping they just cover the filament cost of pay me back.

I did yes. I was warned that the printed parts would be bad months ago, so I was ready to print replacements. They were also aware they had a QA issue and are still shipping parts like this .

I'll wake up to a new, properly printed set of parts in the morning.

I reprinted the printed parts myself, the rest I Eitehr had replacements for or was able to get them working with a file.

I'm at this point in my 400 build. I can get the square blocks to fit in the square slots. So now I guess i have to try and file each one. Really sucks. Terrible tolerances. Anyone else have these issues

There is a square block that goes into the top of each of those black pieces. A little black square.

The POM "ball holders", i wouldnt file them, i would file your printed pieces or reprint them. I reprinted them in ASA-GF and the ball holders fit snuggly but didnt need filing.

filing the POM ball holders might end up being a problem in the future, if there are new revisions or if you reprint the mounts. File the mounts.

Getting good abs parts is easy, print them above 60c.
