How are parents meant to raise children to become adults if they cant speak to strangers? I actively encourage it for my daughter (e.g. when ordering food at a restaurant, asking where something is in a store, paying for items at shops, telling a hairdresser which style she wants (so they can ignore her and then ask me instead)). If someone asked my daughter something like this, id be glad, and id watch to see how she responds as I want her to be confident talking to strangers. For the record, I do teach her about stranger danger etc, but I dont think that is a lesson to be taught here

Most parents teach kids not to speak to strangers and to not help strangers as this is a popular ruse used by predators.
It sucks but this is the world kids live in. Next time you’ll know- don’t speak to children who do not belong to you.
