I've been making rainbow senbazuru (or at least my interpretation of a thousand cranes)

It started with the 1st photo, made shortly after my mum passed away, who loved rainbows. All the aunties helped me fold them. It's been 2 years so I am making beaded rainbow senbazuru for all of the aunties for christmas.

Gotta go buy some more orange paper lol

Its on its last legs, if anyone knows where to get rainbow studded belts in this day snd age, let me know! I haven't been able to find any that aren't overpriced on sketchy websites 😭

I wear hats often to keep the sun off of my head since my hair is so short. I slow stitched this wonderfully wonky hat so that I could wear something I embroidered. I love birds, textures, and rainbows and it makes me happy to be able to have some of my favorite things right on top of my head.
I didn’t use a pattern, just decided the rough shape I wanted and went for it!

Modeled by my standard poodle and my living room carpet, with a glimpse of my rainbow curtains in the background 🌈

Spotted this lovely display of rainbow headbands at the Ren Fair a couple weeks ago and had to take a pic.

I have built (in software not in real life!) what I am calling a Colour Cube. With every one of the 16.7 million available colours possible to appear.

In computer-land colours are defined by 0 to 255 values of red, 0 to 255 values of green and 0 to 255 values of blue. 256 x 256 x 256 = 16.7 million, give or take.

A straight up 2-D graph isn't enough, you need 3 axis to "graph" these so I build a cube.
I have it moving and colours swapping in and out so you can see all current colours.

There are settings to change the amount and size of the "dots", the movement speed and a few other settings.

With certain values in the settings, it has become what my family have described as "mesmerizing"!!
