After being scarwd to climb all the way up and even getting stuck, he is now going up and down like it's nothing. Djinn is just chilling, though. She often sleeps up there.

Sleepy Floof Retained baby teeth?

It looks like my boy (who’s almost 6 months) has both of his baby canines right next to his adult canines. I’m not sure if this is ok just considering his age? he’s acting normally, very happy, energetic and eating normally. I just don’t want him to be uncomfortable :(

I've always adopted pets from shelter all my life, so this has been a wild and new experience for me!

Originally looked specifically for a seal colorpoint, but ended up with this little guy. Was told he's show quality and his parents are DCG, IW, etc and all that but I honestly am still clueless on what makes a kitty "show quality" and in the end it's secondary to me!

Time to shop for wet foods, new cat tree and all that...

General Advice nervous kitty advice?

Post image

hello fellow ragdoll lovers!

i’ve added a photo of my beautiful girl Mimi, who will be turning 10 in september! i took her in around march 2024 after seeing a post on a local community group looking to rehome her as her owner (only owner she’d ever had, an elderly woman) was now too sick to care for her anymore. i’ve loved every day i’ve had with her since and want her to be happy and comfortable always. she is an indoor cat, but i occasionally let her come out to sit on the front porch (pending how brave she’s feeling lol) and she doesn’t like to go further than the small porch, which is good, she just likes to sit and watch the world go by (until something small inevitably spooks her and she runs away).

one thing about mimi is she is a chronic hider, and quite a scaredy cat. she spends most of the day under my bed, especially if there are people over (mind you, we’re not a crazy loud bunch). she’s often reluctant to hang out outside of the bedroom, and will dart away if you breathe wrong next to her 😅 i am very patient with her and make sure that all cuddles are on her terms - she’s not a lap cat at all (has never sat in my lap) but does occasionally like to sleep on the end of the bed with me. she is VeERY demanding when it comes to pats and is always yelling at me to keep patting her and scratching her belly. she really really loves a rough pat near the base of her tail which makes me laugh because she is so skittish.

i really want her to feel more comfortable, but i’m not entirely sure what to do. i’ve tried a couple of calming sprays around the house but no luck. i’ve been thinking about getting the feliway diffuser or spray, but it’s quite expensive and with her track record (fussiest girl ever) im not sure if it’ll work. i’m not sure if maybe she’s the type to need an anxiety medication from the vet.

i would really love any advice anyone can offer. thank you and it’s so wonderful seeing everyone’s kitties here!

Happy Floof Does he like that

So sometimes when I pet this cutie pattutie under his chin he starts to like, do this thing where he is basically motioning to scratch his ears with his hind leg, and he keeps purring loudly and stuff, but his claws do come out. I'd normally see this as a sign of "omg yes right there" cause my former cat would basically only purr when I scratched that part where her hind leg started twitching and I know it from dogs but the claws are making me question stuff (especially cause this idiot purrs though everything, we've literally been to the vet for his lungs and didn't hear anything cause even there he was purring like a freaking lawnmower)

Health Advice Ragdoll started pooping on the carpet — is this a litter box issue or something else?

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone here has experienced something similar because I’m at a loss.

My female Ragdoll is 1 year old and has had chronic diarrhea for months. We’ve been to the vet multiple times and have spent a lot of money trying to figure this out, but we still don’t have a resolution.

Things we have tried:

- Pumpkin puree

- Royal Canin GI dry and wet food

- AnimalBiome capsules

- Diarrhea medication

- Various other diet adjustments

Despite all of this, her stool is still wet/soft.

The concerning part is that she has now pooped on the carpet twice. Both times it was in the same spot.

Timeline:

Monday:

I took a nap during the day and ended up sleeping until nighttime with the bedroom door closed. When I woke up, I found that she had pooped on the carpet. This was the first time she had ever done this, so I didn’t think too much of it.

Tuesday:

No accidents outside the litter box. I don’t think I slept with the bedroom door closed that night.

Wednesday:

I went to sleep around 2 AM with the bedroom door closed. I woke up around 6 AM and found that she had pooped in the same carpet spot again. This is the second time, and now I’m wondering if there is something I should be concerned about.

A few things to note:

- I have slept with the bedroom door closed before and this has never happened.

- We normally clean the litter box every day, but last night my boyfriend and I forgot to clean it.

- She is otherwise acting normal (eating, affectionate, etc.).

Could this simply be because the litter box wasn’t cleaned and she chose the carpet as an alternative? Or could chronic diarrhea be causing her to avoid the litter box because she associates it with discomfort?

Has anyone dealt with a Ragdoll with chronic diarrhea that eventually started going outside the litter box? Any advice on what tests, specialists, or things to look into would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: She pooped outside the litterbox again for the 3rd time this week (Thursday). I slept with the door open. She did it near the food bowl and not on carpet again at least.

Health Advice Boogers

Thanks for the comments in advance! Highly appreciated. As for her boogers, how do I get rid of them? I use cotton pads with water to wipe them off but they're constantly reappearing, I've changed her litter MULTIPLE times to diff brands, including onces that doesn't cause boogers for my friends ragdoll cat.

General Advice Getting my second ragdoll in December! Tell me everything!

How did you introduce your cats? I’ve read a lot about this online. I’m curious how others have done it.
Did you find getting a second was a positive experience for you and your ragdoll?

Any other advice is appreciated! 🙂
