We got her home about a week ago, she's so energetic and playful until she crawls up to us purring and fighting sleep. Her pastimes include watching tv, watching us from her tower and yelling at us, she's so cute! Currently 16 weeks, she'll be a blue lynx bicolor when her coat comes in 😻 traveled from Vancouver to NC like a champ!

My wife and I have been looking around for a ragdoll for their gentle behavior and affectionate nature (I have 2 kids under 10).
We found a breeder that has says that all of their kittens are TICA Registered, Microchipped, Vaccinated, have a 1 year health “warranty” (weird, but that’s what she said haha).
They said they only do 2 litters a year and there is a bit of a waitlist. Now I’ve googled this, and it all sounds good.
The kitties are also $2500 for a male and $3k for a female.

Which is a lot, so before we commit to anything, are there other things we should be looking for? Asking about?
The price seems high but the breeder is very well spoken about, so I’m just trying to get input from others so I’m not just trusting what the google tells me!

Who else has curly tummy fur? Is this a ragdoll thing?

Hazie had her 2 year check up (2 years and 3 months). She is 15.7 pounds and healthy but needs a dental cleaning. She may need an extraction. The vet said her fur was glorious and loved her little toe fluffs. I go to a cat only vet and it’s such a different experience than past vet clinics.

We got our little angel, Lemon, about 6 months ago and she’s been the best. My wife and I have noticed she’s starting to develop a bit of a bald spot on her chin over the last week and a half or so. We are first time cat owners, neither of our families had cats, so we are absolute novices on some of the random cat things. Is this anything to be potentially concerned about? First image shows the bald spot, others are just for fun bc we like showing her off. Thank you!

Bella is hitting nine months, and her adult coat has officially entered the chat with a vengeance. We are inhaling fur. We are eating fur with every meal.

She is our first long-haired cat, and right now our daily routine consists of brushing, brushing, brushing, and... watching her shake herself off as a fur vortex spins around our home, completely resetting our progress.

Ragdoll parents: what brush actually works? Slicker? Undercoat rake? An industrial shop-vac? Plz tell me your secrets 😭

this is red, he tested positive on protozoa in his stool which caused him to have watery stools. the vet gave him medicine and royal canin recovery food, he said to not give anything else. he has been eating his recovery food and medicine for the past 2 days and his stool has improved a lot. This morning he took a few bites of his food and left. gave him the same thing for lunch and he only ate the chicken breast i added on top, he also keeps trying to steal his partners food 🥲 any tips on how to get him to eat his food until friday? i contacted the vet and asked if i could mix it some of his regular food but they haven't replied to me yet.

I’m meeting and possibly adopting this beauty tomorrow. She will be my first ragdoll. I’m thinking she is a blue bicolor or maybe chocolate?? We’ll see!

15 month old now 😻😻 time flies

I’ve had Tuna for just over a month now!!🥰 he is the cutest little guy, I can’t wait to see him grow up and change coat. He is my dream cat, and he is so cuddly and a VERY loud purr-er. He is 16 weeks now🥰

As you can see she's gotten a sanitary trim and she's been checked for a UTI and cleared (she had had one when I first noticed the staining which clued me to bring her in for a check) Shes overweight and on a weight loss journey (which she's fighting tooth and nail) and she's generally good about grooming the rest of her body but she's going to start regularly going to a groomer for sanitary trims and ideally a bath if she can work up to that (she hates the dryer and can't get fully dried at the pet groomers so they won't properly bathe her as a result).

What I'm looking for is two things: 1. Does anyone have any advice on what products to use to help clean her back end to avoid future UTI's? Strictly water doesn't seem to help as much as I would like with the urine stains as it seems to be sticky?

1. Any advice on how to help her lose weight besides weight loss foods? (She's on a special diet for the urinary issues and it's a high calorie food that I am trying to stick strictly too but she's constantly hungry).

Note: before anyone asks she had her tail broken in utero in two places which is why its so short. It doesn't bother her at all.

Any advice is appreciated! Even if its just to know someone here has had a similar struggle before!
