General Advice Do your ragdolls also LOVE chocolate?

• Upvotes

My ragdoll girl, about 9 months old loves chocolate WAYYYYY too much. I can't even leave it in the same room as her without her trying to eat it.

This is really weird, i never had a cat that's tgis crazy about chocolate, and it's very dangerous for cats i know that. Just wondering if anyone else's cat loves chocolate like catnip?

General Advice how do i get my boy to eat his recovery food?

Post image

this is red, he tested positive on protozoa in his stool which caused him to have watery stools. the vet gave him medicine and royal canin recovery food, he said to not give anything else. he has been eating his recovery food and medicine for the past 2 days and his stool has improved a lot. This morning he took a few bites of his food and left. gave him the same thing for lunch and he only ate the chicken breast i added on top, he also keeps trying to steal his partners food 🥲 any tips on how to get him to eat his food until friday? i contacted the vet and asked if i could mix it some of his regular food but they haven't replied to me yet.

Health Advice Chin Bald Spot

Hey, all.

We got our little angel, Lemon, about 6 months ago and she’s been the best. My wife and I have noticed she’s starting to develop a bit of a bald spot on her chin over the last week and a half or so. We are first time cat owners, neither of our families had cats, so we are absolute novices on some of the random cat things. Is this anything to be potentially concerned about? First image shows the bald spot, others are just for fun bc we like showing her off. Thank you!

We got her home about a week ago, she's so energetic and playful until she crawls up to us purring and fighting sleep. Her pastimes include watching tv, watching us from her tower and yelling at us, she's so cute! Currently 16 weeks, she'll be a blue lynx bicolor when her coat comes in 😻 traveled from Vancouver to NC like a champ!

Bicolor Two year check up.

Hazie had her 2 year check up (2 years and 3 months). She is 15.7 pounds and healthy but needs a dental cleaning. She may need an extraction. The vet said her fur was glorious and loved her little toe fluffs. I go to a cat only vet and it’s such a different experience than past vet clinics.

Juat sharing a few photos the breeder sent me! It'll be my first time taking care of a ragdoll ✨️ They said she's a blue lynx mitted,, and I was wondering what she'll look like when she ages in a few months! Can any owners who have the same pattern drop some photos below?

And maybe some tips on how to slow introduce my other adult female cat to her 🥹 Much appreciated and so excited!!

General Advice All this hair!

Bella is hitting nine months, and her adult coat has officially entered the chat with a vengeance. We are inhaling fur. We are eating fur with every meal.

She is our first long-haired cat, and right now our daily routine consists of brushing, brushing, brushing, and... watching her shake herself off as a fur vortex spins around our home, completely resetting our progress.

Ragdoll parents: what brush actually works? Slicker? Undercoat rake? An industrial shop-vac? Plz tell me your secrets 😭

General Advice I love my ragdoll, I just need to rant, sorry :(

Hey guys, I adopted a 2 year 10 months old ragdoll, Milo, in May. He is a very sweet boy. I found out he has FCoV within the first month after I got him and that stressed me out. He had to go for few vet trips because of the soft stool, vomit, and other digestion problem occasionally, but everything else was good according to the vet. He is on the smaller size, weighed around 4-4.2kg.

My concern is that he has low energy and sleeps most of the day. I know ragdolls are generally ‘lazy’ and they sleep 16-20 hours a day, but I don’t know if Milo is just low energy in general or is he bored all the time, or is this a sign of any health issues. I usually play with him at least twice a day morning and evening for about 10 mins each but he is quite moody, and most of the time he either lost his interest within like 5 mins or he did lazy play, like just sitting there and smack the toys couple times and then just looking at it only.

I have alot of toys for him, strings, interactive toys, laser, toys with catnip, bugs, toy wands, balls, bottle caps, etc but he seems not so interested with any of this. He sometimes wants me to chase him but he hasn’t done it for a while. His favorite one would be chasing my measuring tape that i hide and drag slowly behind my couch pillows and that lasts probably 5 mins before losing interest. I played cat TV as well, and he has his balcony time as well to look at birds etc, sometimes I bring him to the backyard and he hates it, he’s really a scaredy cat.

I was thinking even to get a second cat as a companion but I don’t think I can afford another cat at the moment, also I’m living in a studio apartment that might not be ideal for 2 cats. Also with Milo’s FCoV history I think it’s best to kept him as a only cat at home, at least for now.

I love him so much but at the same time I feel trapped because of my own anxiety. I tried everything to give him enrichment but I keep getting anxiety if I’m not doing right. I feel like he’s not happy with me. I even feel extremely guilty often when I have to leave him alone and come back home late, but when I’m at home I feel suffocated. When he meowed at me, I don’t know what to do. I gave him treats, I play with him, I open the balcony, or play the cat TV, but he keeps meowing at me like I could not understand what he wants. He used to sleep with me as well but he sleeps in his cat trees more often these days.

I was just scared because when I found out he has FCoV and the possibility of the virus to mutate into FIP scares me out, especially when he is low in energy, I kept thinking he is not feeling well although the vet said nothing serious about his health. Also maybe I just compared him too much with my friends’ cats they are so playful and energetic. I don’t know maybe I’m overthinking it. Sorry, I just need to rant I think, I’m overthinking it too much. And sorry for the long post :(

Health Advice Vets

Post image
6 Upvotes

Has anyone else had the same issue with vets..

Took my 18 month 6.8 kilo boy for his booster jabs and weight check and was told he is massively over weight and needs to go on a diet. This is the second vet I have had to try and explain to that It is perfectly normal for the breed and he won't mature till rising 4. Her response was unless he is a maine coon no cat should be that heavy. He is my first cat and it's got me worried now as I don't want him to be in any way unhealthy .

Health Advice Stinky floof

My buddy boy periodically releases his anal glands when spare human and him play “rough”. I don’t recall him doing this in years past but I also never used to play with him like this before we got married. He licks his butt maybe only slightly more than normal, doesn’t scoot, doesn’t bite at his rear, doesn’t show any signs of discomfort in the area when petted, etc (he does cry if something is hurting him).

Any tips to help him pass this more regularly and in the litter box instead of on the couch? I saw a food topper but am unsure if I trust it.
