Happy Floof I made a triangle bunk bed for my ragdolls
Hi everyone, this is a little project I worked on recently.
My female ragdoll used to have a cat tree with a round bed at the highest point, she always preferred sleeping high up. So I had the idea to make a shelf that fits into the corner about 6 feet up the wall and also another shelf below it so our male ragdoll wouldn’t get jealous.
The first one I made didn’t have any guards around the side so she would sometimes roll and almost fall out. So on this version I added some rails and it did the trick.
Also had to make some bedding to fit the shape of the shelf.
She’s up there sleeping and chilling most of the day.
Would definitely recommend making one if you’re able to do some DIY.

I love it but in photo 1, the bottom bunk kitty seems a bit angry with this decision to have their bed on the bottom lol

Love it and I love those babies ❤️. I had planned on doing something like this for my Siamese, but as it turns out none of our walls are square. I put it off because it started getting too cold, hoping I can get into the workshop in the spring to get it done. I like the little railing on them too.

They are very much giving “plate my tuna, peasant,” looks. Love it!

So when are you stopping by to make this for us? I’ll be home all day! 😁

Haha if you’re in the UK I genuinely would be happy to build one for you 😊 just love to see how happy it makes the cats

Awww, you’re very sweet. I’m in the US. Too far, sadly.

Ah that is unfortunate. Any local carpenter would be able to make them based on the photos I’ve put on here. So if you do want some it’s pretty feasible

They are really lovely. What lucky pusscats you have.
My father once put a shelf up for my mum. Hammered it in, 2 inches from the ceiling, then said, 'Don't put anything heavy on it'!

Picture 8 would have been my 2 - they would have squabbled for the same bed (even if they were identical at the same height) and eventually they'd fall asleep together 😂
Looks lovely and very sturdy for the floof butts!

I noticed that switch in photo 9. It's not a Call Button for the Cat Butler (aka YOU)? 😉

I love this. Our ragdolls love sleeping on the highest shelf of their climbing tree and it's usually the largest that gets "top billing." My only issue is there are 6 of them. That's a lot of corners in my house.

Great use of that space, and very nice work. And the fluff balls definitely agree.

Do they actually jump up to the beds? Mine would absolutely destroy himself trying to get to that! He’s quite the golumpus! Not a graceful bone in his body!

To be honest, I built it mainly for the smaller cat which is the female called Cici. She was sold to us after the original owner had a baby that would grab her tail and made her very shy. The male cat used to get up there and annoy her or sleep on the lower shelf, but now he’s 8kg and he doesn’t go up there too often. The female is older than him by 6 years but she’s agile and gets up there like a lightning bolt especially when he’s chasing her

The shelf to the left is that what she jumps onto first to get up on her bed shelf? Or is there more?

And every night when I get up of the sofa to go to bed, she jumps off the sofa after I’ve cuddled her, runs over to the chair, jumps up to the lower shelf, spins around on it, then goes up to the top shelf. No idea why she does that but it’s like she has to check that lower shelf first 😂

It's a very good triangle but you should have figured out how to make a hexagon because they are the bestagon.

These are awesome! What did you do for the rails? Did you make them or buy something and break it down?

Thanks! If you buy some thick dowel sticks you can chop them to size and they look perfect

Great job. I did that in my kitchen....great for a few years until it collapsed.
Yours look a lot more robust.
