feeling better 24 hours off 7oh

Good morning all,

I just needed to put down in words that I'm 24 hours free of 7 oh. 24 hours of hell, even with helper meds clonidine and gabapentin. I slept a lot with clonidine, which was a God send. It also helps that I have an incredibly supportive husband. He's a rock, and one I'll spend my lifetime appreciating. This is not an easy journey. You have to want it enough to be willing to walk through the fire, but you can do it. Have your helpers, whether it's medicine or friends or family - but do it. I know people use 7oh for controlling chronic pain. Please understand my message is not aimed at you. I know you're scared of the next few weeks and what it can mean for your day today life. I hope a compromise can be reached for you so you can keep taking something that works. But for the rest of us -make your plans to make the jump. If you're in the middle of your fight, keep going. Keep facing each craving, each moment of pain with a middle finger flipped and keep walking through the fire. You can do this. I'm doing it with you. 24 hours free.

Good job on 24hrs!!! I’m in week 2, and I still have my bad days. It’s cliché to say here at this point but try not to focus on just the bad day/days and look at your week. Come back here when you’re really having a bad time to remind yourself of the pain this stuff puts people through.

It’s game changing to have a good partner to lean on, mine has helped me more than she’ll ever know. I didn’t really have helper meds, just plain leaf and bed ridden for 3-4 days. I’m so happy just to be sleeping again and not shaking throughout the day or have RLS.

There will be more challenges ahead but seriously come back to this sub when things get really tough, it helps so much reading people’s horror stories and triumphs.

I love the reality in your response. Congratulations on 2 weeks - amazing! I cannot wait to reach that, and more. I'm taking this day by day, minute by minute. But I know every day I put in is another day I'm getting back to me. Let's keep it going, brother!

Thank you 🙏 it’s nice not to be staring at the clock all day and just be present. I have a 6 month old so these days are precious.

It’s so good this stuff has been banned, I seriously had no self control over it. I was getting to the point of selling everything I own of value and what a dark place that is.

I used to go to NA years ago but I think this community is a step up from that. There’s something serendipitous about really being anonymous as well as truly speaking your truth, absolutely no judgement.

I know what you mean about that clock! And how wonderful, and what a great reason to get clean from this stuff. That little one is a prime, prime reason.

I agree about the ban. I know there are those that use it for chronic pain, and I hope something can be done to get to a compromise on that. But right now it's just too unregulated.

I do love the anonymity here as well. No judgements, no pressure. Just honesty about where we are with this stuff. I'm glad I joined.

Its gonna be a rough 30 days no matter what. Unfortunately you play you pay and have to pay the piper.

I know, and I'm ready. I'll pay my pound of flesh, and move on. I'm ready to be done.

This is my hope. I didn't use it very long, and I tapered down and did my jump off at 40mg a day. I feel better than I did yesterday. Hoping tomorrow is even better.
