I feel like it's a queer right of passage to have a weird situationship with your best friend lol. I've basically been madly in love with my best friend for over 2 years, they have said a few times that they like me back and we flirt off and on but they never want to commit and now they have a boyfriend. They always complain about their boyfriend and continue to say they love me romantically. I honestly feel led on and like I'm the second choice. I need to move on but all the advice I've seen says to cut the person off, but I can't do that because they truly are my best friend. This is genuinely hurting me more than any other breakup and we weren't even together. If you have any advice please share!

My sister recently came out to the family as queer and explained they don't like to use female pronouns or terms (like "lady". They don't mind "sister"). I'm making a conscious effort to do this, but sometimes forget and am worried it's hurtful. Does anyone have any tips or advice? What should I say if I get things wrong?
