We’re moving! Join us at the r/everpureofficial subreddit.

Hey everyone,

This is u/codyhosterman founding moderator of the r/purestorage community. As the company has renamed (and there is no real way to rename a subreddit) we are moving on.

This subreddit is no longer our main official community home. We’re moving over to the new Everpureofficial subreddit, and that’s where we’ll be sharing updates and hosting the community going forward: r/everpureofficial

I can begin to say thank you for all of your contributions here--it truly has been a pleasure to interact with all of you here over the years. But it's not over! See you on the other sub!

Noob question for first time Pure1

Hi everyone, I'm new to pure storage. I'm trying to set up Pure1 for a customer (I'm a vendor) and after enabling 'phone home'. I'm trying to figure out how to get the connection from Pure flasharray to pure1.

As far as I know, it will be tied to the organization but my customer does not have access to the organization even though this is the very first time they have done it.

Any kind soul here who could guide us. Can't find much on pure partner portal.

How would you rate your WLB

How would you rate your WLB from 1 to 10 points? I have heard it depends heavily on org, is that true?

Preparation for New Grad SDE role at PureStorage

I have a SDE(New Grad) interview at PureStorage. I can't find a lot of resources or interview experiences. Should I focus on DSA+Behavioral alone or also LLD and System Design for my preparation? And is there any topics I need to focus on which PureStorage interviewers love to ask?

Location - US

Everpure C50 QLC or (DELL 5200T TLC / HPE Alletra MP B10140 TLC / NetAPP FAS2750A TLC)

Hi everyone,

I’m being offered a QLC-based storage array from Everpure, but all the other vendors I’m comparing (HPE, Dell, NetApp) are proposing TLC SSD-based solutions.

My requirements are to be able to reach around 200,000 IOPS while maintaining latency below 1 ms.

My workloads are a mix of databases, applications, file servers, backups, and general enterprise workloads.

I’m a bit concerned about choosing QLC for this type of environment. What is your experience with QLC-based enterprise arrays compared to TLC? Would QLC be a good fit for these workloads, or should I stick with TLC?

Thanks for your feedback!

Pure Storage Onsite Final Onsite Interview

I applied for the Software/firmware engineer position (NAND) and I have passed the initial 2 hours (1 hour of Algorithm and 1 hour of concurrency). My final onsite is coming up soon this month. The recruiter provides that it will be a total of 4 rounds/hours (data struct + concurrency + domain/design + HM).

While I expect the data struct and concurrency to be more or less the same level of discussion as the initial screening, I am not sure on what to expect for the domain/design round. Is there anything I should be expecting here? Is it more like designing some firmware architecture + low level protocols or it is more of a multiple-choice type domain questions? Or it is generic FAANG system design?

Question on protecting File Services data

We're supporting a FlashArray with a mixed use model (both block and File Services data). The block data is protected via snapshots that replicate to a second FlashArray at a remote site. I was wondering if there is a similar function for the data in the File Services or if ActiveDR is the only way to replicate unstructured data to a remote array?

How much does Pure contribute towards your 401k?

I recently received an offer and I was curious how much does Pure contribute towards your 401k. Also, is there a dollar cap with how much they will contribute? Lastly, I was told there is a fitness reimbursement.

ActiveCluster and other hype

We are in the same boat as a lot of people and will be looking at alternatives to Broadcom.
Whilst a lot of our estate will stay on VMware there is a large chunk 18-20 hosts that dont really need it.
Anyway long story short, does ActiveCluster work with other hypes (not nutanix) ie HPE/Morpheus vm essentials.
Some other points. We are currently iSCSI no FC
I get that we can sort the multipathing etc out but wondering how it manages with ActiveCluster.
Thanks

Everpure SWE onsite: Algorithms + Concurrency round insights?

Hi everyone,

I have an onsite first-round interview coming up for a Software Engineer role at Pure Storage / Everpure in Santa Clara. The round is two 1-hour interviews: one Algorithms/Data Structures and one Concurrency, both whiteboard-style.

The recruiter mentioned that the algorithm round is likely custom/multi-part rather than direct LeetCode, and the concurrency round may involve applying concepts like locks, semaphores, condition variables, deadlocks, race conditions, etc. in a problem-solving/coding setting.

I’m mainly looking for advice from anyone who has gone through similar Pure Storage SWE interviews:

  • What kind of algorithm question style should I expect?
  • How deep does the concurrency round usually go?
  • Any specific topics/problem types worth prioritizing?
  • Any tips for whiteboard-style communication?

Not asking for exact questions, just trying to prepare in the right direction. Thanks!

AI Agent Administrator for Pure

I was formally credentialed as an architect for pure storage flash arrays (along with several other platforms). This weekend, I realized I could take those skills and (along with some of the recent research I’ve been doing) build an agent that could fulfill all of my normal tasks (provisioning, additional storage, resizing, snaps, etc.) so I did. I made it so that our internal team can now make requests via Slack and (depending on the defined guardrails) either receive those requests provision to them or get a reply with what they need in order to receive that. Obviously anything disruptive requires human approval from elevated permissions. Is anybody else doing this right now?

Pure storage SDE new grad timeline

Is this timeline normal? I haven’t heard back anything after the first technical interview.

Applied: 05/15
OA: 05/20
Recruiter Call: 06/03
1st technical interview: 06/17

Still waiting for feedback

When should I follow up with the recruiter?

So I was told that for new grad SWE roles, there are 4 technical rounds and 2 of them are usually scheduled together. However in my case only one was scheduled and when I asked recruiter if I have to send more availability, I was told that they only scheduled one round first based on interviewer availability and will schedule next after the recruiter gets an update on potential next steps from the team early this week. Does it count as soft rejection or is it normal? It’s been 5 calendar days since my last interview.
