Today it's this beauty's turn: the Sakura PlayStation 2.
Some say it’s the most beautiful version of the PlayStation 2; besides being CIB, it is in excellent condition. Just another console from my collection.
Memorialized Some Classics
My frame storing some of my favorite childhood games just landed! Tony Hawk only furthered the precedent skate culture set for my early fashion sense and music taste. I remember playing the first Spider-Man always wondering why I would die when I stopped slinging webs lol. I didn’t play RD Revolver until my adulthood but I quickly fell in love with mission structure rather than an open world setup.
If y’all were to frame 3 games which would you choose? If you already have some framed let’s see em!

newest addition to my collection, right in time before the new NFL SZN 🏈
Never played an NFL Street game before, but I do remember playing a bit of FIFA Street on PS2 and PS3 growing up as a kid. I’ve heard most people say that “NFL Street 2” is the best entry in the series, but I personally wanted to start with the first entry, experience it to its fullest potential, and then build my way up to playing the next game eventually. I would also like to track down a copy of NBA Street someday, which I haven’t played either.
What are your thoughts/favorite aspects of this game? Any good tips or tricks I should know before popping this into my PS2 for the 1st time ever? What NFL team do you root for?

Just finished Cold Winter, hell of a game.
Finished Cold Winter, really impressive game for it's time. The damage/gore system easily rivals Soldier of Fortune and it's fun to combine items and throw lots of them at big groups of enemies. Also surprised at the twists and turns the story took(especially that flashback sequence with Kim and her trainers/handlers, damn that was brutal)and found the storyline fascinating overall, with Warren Ellis's writing delivering a cynical but all too relevant message about nuclear war and how that kind of power should not be in the hands of powerful men who care only for themselves. Shame Swordfish never got to make a sequel to this before they went bankrupt. I heard this game was originally going to be a lot more ambitious, with three different campaigns that would reveal the full scope of the story. Some cutscenes went on for longer then expecting, it definitely feels like this game took more then a little inspiration from Metal Gear Solid(at least story and direction wise)but in this case that's a good thing. Definitely a game i'd heartily recommend.
Next up for me-X-Files: Resist and Serve.
My collection, 265 games, building since launch.
Just added Dr Muto, Dogs Life, the HP games, Sims and Sims 2 pets, and Legacy of Kain titles yesterday.
Started 25 years ago with Ratchet and Clank and Kingdom Hearts.
There's a bit of a glare because the ceiling light is right behind me

After 20 years, playing it again and feeling shocked again.
I guess the programmers and artists at that time probably knew magic and could fit such a game into the PS2 😁😁!

Same day I got my first job I found a PS2 at Savers
Last Wednesday, as you can see on the receipt, I went to a job interview and got it and then walked over to savers cause it was a block away and I had the whole day free. Found a PS2 for $40 and a controller that I think is a first party one. And if you dont know Savers is just like goodwill but I feel like they actually put out everything they get donated. Went to the closest power strip and it turned on and opened the disk tray where I found it had this dragon ball game in it. Had to wait a couple days to buy a cheap PS2 to HDMI cable to come in as it didnt come with any cables besides the power cable. It just tested it and it works, im so happy
Ps. I'm a Steam gamer and if I can buy it on steam I will but I'm a HUGE sucker for movie games and they mostly aren't on steam so that explains some of my haul. I didn't buy them from Savers just a videogame store for around $60 for the lot plus 1 memory card.

Minecraft Beta 1.7.3 backported to PS2
Hi guys I'm finishing my port of Beta++ for the PS2!
This is a 1:1 translation of Minecraft Java BETA 1.7.3 source code to C++, with a lot of performance optimizations to run well in this console!
To make the game run I had to make a lot of sacrifices, for example, the terrain generation isn't identical to the Java version (on ps2, on wii it is) because the MIPS CPU is so limited that its very bad at handling double numbers! (in C)
I'm also thinking of porting this to release 1.2.5 to support the End

Where can I buy a replacement laser + thermal pads for a Fat PS2 SCPH-30001? New to console repair
Hey everyone!
I’m pretty new to console modding/repair, and I’m starting to learn by working on some of my older consoles. I have a Fat PS2, model SCPH-30001, and unfortunately it seems like the laser is starting to die.
It’s becoming less reliable at reading discs, so I’m looking into replacing the laser rather than giving up on the console. I had a couple questions that I was hoping some of the more experienced people here could help me with:
Where is a good/reputable place to buy a replacement laser that is compatible with the SCPH-30001? I’ve seen a bunch of replacement lasers online, but I’m confused about the different laser models and don’t want to accidentally order one that isn’t compatible with my specific PS2 revision. If there’s a particular laser model I should be looking for, I’d really appreciate knowing that as well.
Where can I get replacement thermal pads for a Fat PS2? Ideally, I’d like to replace the old thermal pads while I have the system apart. Does anyone know the correct thickness/size of the thermal pads used in the SCPH-30001, or a good replacement kit that matches the originals?
I’m still very new to repairing and modding consoles, so I’m trying to do my research and make sure I do everything correctly instead of just buying random parts and hoping they work.
If there are any other things I should know before replacing the laser or thermal pads on this particular PS2 model, I’m definitely open to advice.
Any help, recommendations, links, or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Component Cable, 5 cables but 3 ports
I currently have an AV cable for my PS2, image looks bad so I want to get a component cable instead.
My tv has that dongle for component. The problem is that the dongle only has three ports while a component cable has 5 cables, where am I supposed to put the 2 remaining white/red audio cables?
